the issue is that the majority of game console sales these days are for mainstream audiences. The result of this is that if you want to move lots of units of a game, you either have to have a very dedicated audience or bet on some percentage of the installbase buying it.
The issue is that nobody picked up a Wii U because the average consumer didn't understand that it was a new console at all.
The Switch is basically the Wii U 2.0 (where instead of having a console you can stream to a tablet within limited range, you have a handheld that's as powerful as a low-end console) but it's better marketed, which means its the system that gets noticed.
And if the Switch gets ports from the Wii U, doesn't that mean the Switch has just as good games as the Wii U, if not better due to the expanded library?

I think people will be willing to see BOTW as the Wii U Zelda when BOTW 2 comes out and is seen as the switch zelda.
