What the fuck went wrong?
What the fuck went wrong?
I can at least run it at a steady 60FPS, but some of the maps aren't great.
It's really still a work in progress despite being out of beta.
I have a 7700k and a 1070 and I barely get acceptable framerates with a lot of settings turned down
UE4
The game like lots of threads as far as I can tell: on a 3700x + 1070 I can max everything out with 70+ fps, but on a i5 6500 + 1060 I'm averaging 30 on minimum settings
Game is boring for me i tried it out at the latest free weekend and it didn't really stick with me, i like the weapon handling and firing though.
oh and it runs like shit
best insurgency was the hl2 mod because it was new and fresh and it played much differently, they are trying to hit competetive scenes with this one i think just like they tried it with the standalone one
insurgency 1 was much better despiste having a worse engine
i5-6600, GTX960, 8GB DDR4 RAM, SSD.
I've locked the game to 60FPS and it mostly stays at 60.
There are some bullshit settings in the graphics settings that give you an extra boost like texture streaming or some retarded shit. They just need to make the game not so retarded and it'll run so much better.
There's nothing wrong with Unreal Engine 4, it's just some games on the engine (This one) are built by people who don't know how to use it so it comes out fucking stupid to run.
I have a shit PC and it runs fine for me. Never messed with the settings.
It's fast paced but definitely a lot slower than the first one. I've tried to go back to the original and it feels like a totally different game. I can see why you might dislike sandstorm based on that. It's not super realistic but definitely plays a bit different.
I like the commander being able to call in air strikes and shit. A good commander and observer can save a shit team. In the original you're really at the mercy of your team and you know if you're fucked in about 30 seconds when a round starts.
Mostly though I just don't think people want to pay full price for it, even though it's pretty fun imho. I got the first insurgency for like $1 with 4 free copies I gave away on Yea Forums. Sandstorm is much more and I guess it doesn't run well for some people or not the way they want. I've never really had an issue though so I like it.
I have a ryzen 2600 and rx 580, I play on max settings 1080p and get over 60fps, never had any issues
Maps are all fucking garbage
Game itself sucks pretty bad, but the amount of verbal shit posting is top tier and hearkens back to the glory days of Xbox Live. Play this shit game for this alone.
Is it just me or are the 5.45 weapons all broken? I had a guy survive me magdumping him at point blank with the AK-74 so I switched to the M16A2 and it was easily one or two shotting everyone.
>Run to the last objective
>Snipers litterally everywhere
Good luck pal
this
The sound is great, but the gameplay gets pretty samey quick
>Try to cap A as insurgents on hideout
>no restricted zones for security defenders so they push 100m out from the objective and hide everywhere like fucking Viet Cong
>get shot in the back 10 times trying to get to the completely undefended objective
>sniper posts up on the far right and can literally look into your spawn exit
And then later you can shoot the defenders in their spawn on B and C, what an absolute clusterfuck of a map. And every map has these same issues.
>free mod
>great
>dev become greedy with popularity
>become garbage
like clockwork.
How did they manage to make it worse? As the prompt says, what the fuck went wrong?
shit maps
terrible optimization
Is it even the same dev team that made the first one?
This is true, it didn't really launch with enough content to justify even $30. It didn't help that the game was nearly unplayable for a month after release.
bump
Give me that fucking survival mode at night.
That shit was awesome
No, you'll play your fucking zombie survival mode AND YOU'LL LIKE IT
Why can't I have both?
>M16
>5.45
whats even the promise of this type of games?
>basic multiplayer shooter b-but i swear this one is just like real life
Laugh at this user's reading comprehension.
imagine being retarded and completely missing the point of the post lol
Because NWI doesn't want you to have nice things, the same reason that we aren't getting Ambush until at least 2020.
How does it run on consoles?
>Work 15 years on the same engine, have a massive pool of knowledge to pull from.
>Work on an engine for 2 years and ship a game on consoles while still learning all the tools and how the engine works.
I wonder.
the movement is too arcadey compared to INS 2 and the maps suck
never played the mod for more than a few minutes over a decade ago so i can't comment on that
mod is pretty kino and my favorite of the 3 games.
nowadays games can't be about just shooting stuff up, the novelty already is lame, you need some meta like rng equipment, punishing death or competition to keep them hooked like gambling addicts
They were forced to release the game despite it not being ready. As someone who was really looking forward to this title I am as frustrated as everyone else.
Knowing NWI and the great devs they are the game is never going to loose support but dealing with all these updates and non-optimization is getting pretty gay, dog.
This is my only complaint
I don't know if I would call the movement arcadey but it definitely feels like shit. There is a weird sliding whenever you try to change direction or stop suddenly and it makes the movement feel sluggish. Average run speed is also generally too high.
Shit optimization
movement didn't feel as tight as the last game and maps fucking sucked
Aside from the horrendous performance at launch, the community is actually fucking terrible. So many edgelord electionfags screaming into the mic post game. I played a fuckton of the first Insurgency and never experienced that shit, but it became inevitable after every round in this shit.
I want to support NWI but it also needs more maps, and the gunplay is JUST off enough compared to the first game that it doesn't jive with me as well.
Sandstorm has some of the best feeling guns in a game imo but everything else is either shit or mediocre.
Especially the map design, very disappointing compared to the first game.
I like how everyone's slowly realising what a good engine Source was and is
So many game developers have moved from Source to Unreal Engine and the results speak for themselves
>forced
what ?
I like how there are so many issues with the game that people forget to even mention that the damage system is completely broken. Mk14, FAL, G3, and Mk17 all do different amounts of damage despite all firing the same round. 5.56 or 5.45 to the chest won't kill an unarmored enemy. Then there's also the armor system itself, which is so broken that light armor literally does nothing and heavy armor barely makes a difference. 99% of people seem to run with no armor because of this.
the armor shitshow was because of the shitters that complained too much about heavy armor protection, but if you used your brain for a section you'll realize that armor have their own hitbox and you should aim for the limbs/head/pelvis to kill the enemy
I'm sure they'll fix it eventually, they just need our support. I'm going to buy the console version when it comes out to send them a message of love.
bruh
Seeing the playerbase split like that is sad
Insurgency has fun mods, there are some pretty crazy mods for Insurgency. I read that NWI is hoping to add mods to Insurgency Sandstorm but other commenters on 4channel have noted that making mods in Unreal Engine 4.0 is very difficult.
I was downloading Insurgency Sandstorm earlier today, the download was at about 85%. I closed Steam to pause the download. I just opened it again, and the download has reverted to 5% and the filesize appears to be about 2 GB more than it was before. Strange stuff.
fucking lol
