the latter, by far. if you get assblasted by other people playing a video game "wrong" you're a turbo autist.

Speedrunners

Cool: glitches that skip portions of the game during the speedrun

Autistic: glitches that skip the entire game

people who watch speedruns

If you're not playing any of the actual game quickly how is it a speedrun?

What lead you to create this

making shit like this and posting it an easy way to attract attention

That's why usually there's multiple categories for speedrunning

Okay, this is based

Definitely the second one. Not all speedrunners are retards.

Retards who bitch about either when there's multiple categories. Having a WR glitchless is more impressive to some people than having a WR that's just cutting the whole game.

lol who gets mad at other people for playing games they way they choose to play. must be a zoomer who only watches people play games

Really depends on the definition. I'd say the most hardcore speedrunners simply due to the sheer amount of obsession you see amid the group of people combing the engines of (often pretty old) games for any possible exploit to shorten the completion time. Look at the Super Mario 64 speedrunning community and tell me that it is anything else.

On the other hand, I would say that the purists are far and away more cancerous. Games are meant to be played, and that includes doing so however floats your boat. Unless it's a multiplayer title there is genuinely no excuse beyond pure seething to crusade on about how you are "supposed" to play a game.

That's why there're different categories.

i don't know if it's cheating but out of bound glitches sure are boring to watch

>Who's more autistic: someone who does the exact same thing over and over again, for hours a day, for years, and isn't paid for it, or people who have opinions about video games?

Normal people consider using glitches, cheating.

Anyone else have a friend that looks up speedrun glitches and implements no matter the game? That is fucking autistic

Being against glitches doesn't require being autistic.

I don't see the point in aruging.
Not all speedruns are fun to watch or run, some suck in fact.
Some runs that utilize glitches are interesting and have a lot of tech and finesse, while other don't.
Same goes for runs that don't utilize certain glitches. No point in fighting over this when every game's speedrun is so different.

It depends upon the sanctioning body of the competitive community to which you want to support and be a part of. Both have merit, both require skill and practice. And if you aren't competing, who fucking cares if someone uses an exploit?

Who is the best speedrunner?

Yes

>Look at the Super Mario 64 speedrunning community and tell me that it is anything else.
Cheese is a pretty cool guy though. He's not socially awkward in the least, and doesn't come across as autistic.

>someone who does the exact same thing over and over again, for hours a day, for years, and isn't paid for it
youtu.be/wc2UJtzy8Lk
>people who have opinions about video games?
lol at this childish reductionism.

of course it does.

Lets you make that case for random people on the street.

Clint Stevens and ZFG isn't all that bad either although Clint is more variety as of now

>walk up to random person on the street
>"what are your thoughts about using glitches in video games to beat glitches faster?"
>person looks at you
>"are you autistic?"

Clint is a faggot.

Normal people don't give a fuck. You would have to be autistic to sit at home seething about others playing video games wrong.

They do get paid for it though, some even get sponsored by big Orgs.

>oh no he's cheating in his own single player game
>this somehow affects my enjoyment of said game if I play it myself
>I should care at all if I don't even play the game to begin with

>caring what this one group of autists does
>caring what this other group of autists obsessing over the first group
No, user. You are the autists

There's not a single game with a "skip the whole fucking game" glitch that people actually give a shit about speedrunning outside the "don't use that fucking glitch" category. At most they play it to grab the meme world record tie.

You're honest, I'll give you that

A lot of them are just neat to watch too anyway like the super mario bros 3 one. That takes more skill to do than ANYTHING "legit" in the game.

i know you were trying to be clever with this but it's pretty bad

People love to speedrun OoT, there's a ton of time-saving glitches and route-running that create an interesting speedrun, as long as you open with "Today we're not going to be using Wrong Warp"

The most autistic bunch is the bunch that doesn't realize there are multiple categories for speedrunning so anyone can choose whether to watch/compete in glitched or glitchless.

every OOT category has wrong warps you mongoloid.

I got really confused because I thought he was talking about jannies for a moment.

well, except the categories that specifically say "no wrong warp", which excludes most of them.

I guess it depends on how literally you define "skip the entire game" but Spyro can be beaten in 8 minutes because there's a glitch to simply reach the final boss immediately.
