The devs haven't said a damn word about DD2 since they announced it, good, bad or indifferent.

Games are cheap and it's honestly even easier to buy on steam than it is to pirate these days so I tend to just buy things on steam. I use gog as well occasionally. Simple fact is, I need to really care about something to pirate it and it's rare that I really care about a release where I'm totally against paying for it. Epic has changed that though.

Games aren't expensive enough that I'm desperate to save money via piracy.

i miss so many basic attacks, especially against spiders and i don't get any trinkets that boost my ACC

2019 is more than half over and there's still no shopping cart. There aren't even automated updates.

There's several mechanics which involve RNG (Similar to Enemy Unknown & XCOM 2) however they can either be managed or mitigated by doing certain things. For example make sure you have your tanky party members use their protection abilities so that your squishier party members are free to do what they want. Curios (the random items you can interact with in a dungeon) are usually pretty crap when normally interacted with, however almost every single one has items you can use on them to get better items/buffs
Just don't use a Torch on this fucking thing unless you're prepared

There's a lot of it, but a major part of the game is preparing for it/limiting its influence. Frankly, it's better to check to check the wiki every now and then, makes thing easier.
The turn order is deternimed by your SPD stat and a random number roll at the begining of every round (let's call it RN)
Basically, an RN between 1 and 8 for is rolled for each unit, and that result is added to the character's SPD. The character with the highest RN+SPD moves first, then everyone else goes in decreasing order.
SPD can be increased or decreased by virtually anything that can modify a character's stats, like Quirks, Diseases, Trinkets, buffs and debuffs, etc.

Map layout and hunger, that's it.
