i'll take the one that doesn't require every component to be defective
smash is a party game anyways, I'm not gonna buy and break an extra 4 controllers just to play melee
Matthew Parker
i like the one on the right
Charles Peterson
The non stinky one
Grayson Bailey
>smash
>non stinky one
wrong franchise.
David King

Daniel Wright
Earthbound vs Undertale
Ryder Brown
Neither
Colton Roberts
soul vs soulless
Justin Green
>every character has an inescapable kill combo
this is the smash game for people who are terrible at smash.
Evan Rogers
Neither are serious fighting games. So it must be the one with the most content, the one on the right
Angel Collins
Melee is a better game, it didn't recycle any content from previous game, it has more fun to play stages, collecting trophies is fun as fuck (and they are all relevant rather than just things like a lanky Kong jpg) It's more fast paced, it doesn't come with trashy character like joker and bayonetta
Nolan Howard
I can't even play Melee anymore because it has none of my mains anymore. I think Link, Roy, Ness, Jiggly Puff and Luigi are the only one I can barely manage to play in Melee anymore
Jace Jones
Melee has better mechanics which means I have more fun playing it.
Carter Ward
Being able to do any action out of dash is one thing that is objectively better about Ultimate. It's also easier to pick up and execute inputs thanks to the buffers, even if they are overgenerous. Otherwise, probably Melee.
Asher Perez
I admire Melee's gameplay but Ultimate does it much better with it's sheer amount of content
Anthony Young
In melee, a bad player who knows how to tech will always beat a good player who doesn't
Cameron Turner
>hit someone in ultimate
>they airdodge out or are able to fucking hit ME before i can even follow it up
this is why i gave up on falcon and just play projectile spammers at this point. i hope they increase hitstun, even only a little bit in the future.
Gavin Moore
Only autistic tourneyfags prefer smelee. Ultimate is the non-cucked choice and is better at literally everything. Yes, even for tourneyfagging.
Liam Stewart
Wrong
Brayden Brown
>inescapable kill combo
Never found that to be the case unless I was Kirby. I guess it is for people who aren't tourneyfags, but the ones who just play for the exploits will want to stick to Melee or Project M.
Kayden Cooper
>Only autistic tourneyfags prefer smelee
But tourneyfags play ultimate, it's the biggest tourneyfag game at evo this year. The best snake in the world recently got outed for being a gay pedo, followed by the actual tranny who beat him quitting after having been found to say nigger in discord.
Eli Davis
only the lingering meleefags think this is even close.
John Bell
>combos are extremely hard and only tourneyfags can use them when the hitstun is literally 2 seconds long
imagine being this bad.
Justin Hill
Ultimate, it's not even a contest. Melee is just an old buggy game.
Jaxson Brooks
>people are literally breaking controllers to play a game better
And we're surprised this level of autism also smells bad. Like really.
Aiden Carter
Just stick to Melee and pretend you're playing a real fighting game stinky. It'll make you feel better.
Chase Barnes
>1/3 of the roster are Mario characters
No
Dylan Miller
There's barely any combos though. Instead of using the mechanics to make creative combos based on how they DI, you instead get a set list of a couple of combos that work at certain percents for a select few characters.
Not even true
Logan Long
Melee of course.
If you don't know how to tech you aren't a good player.
Hunter Russell
Brawl > Wii U > Ultimate > Melee > 64
Colton Turner
Melee > Ultimate > 64
The rest aren't worth playing
Tyler Ortiz
t. Juan
Eli Lopez
there is no DI in smash 64 faggot. i love how you 64 niggers pretend like the game is some unsung masterpiece and then immediately out yourself as not understanding the game at all. the combos in that game take absolutely no skill or reading on the player's part, it's all muscle memory.
>there's barely any combos in 64
you're a fucking dumbass, it's the only smash game that actually has large tournaments for having the best combo
Gabriel Martin
>Wii U > Ultimate
user, being a contrarian does not make you special
Jonathan Allen
A lot better than in Ultimate where combos stop working at 20% and the game just becomes 2 wet noodles hitting each other once.
Hudson Lee
Content : Ultimate > Melee
Movements Gameplay : Melee > Ultimate (Momentum)
Defensive Gameplay : Ultimate > Melee (Parry is interesting
Offensive Gameplay : Melee > Ultimate
Playable Characters : Ultimate > Melee
Isaiah Hernandez
I didn't read the post chain I thought you were talking about another game. Smash 64 combos are ridiculous though.
Jackson Reed
Cope
Angel Nelson
Ultimate > Brawl > Melee > 64 > Wii U
Christian Nelson
Ultimate. Melee is incredibly dated and unless you want to sink in hundreds of hours to be at best mediocre, ultimate is way more fun, casually or conpetitively
Ayden Reed
right has better looking textures. Only bad thing is the lighting.
Brayden Campbell
right looks unironically better. also
>durr graphics
yeah, sure, ignore everything else about the game
Thomas Martinez
>He doesn't play all of the Smash games and switch to an older one when he's in the mood
t. plays Melee, Ultimate, and 64 netplay all the time
Asher Rogers
I would take this roster over ultimates if it meant no more FE characters
Joseph Moore
Melee was awesome for its time, i love that game, but its outdated and overrated, sorry but ultimate is definetely superior
Lincoln Kelly
>atrocious lighting
NINTENDO, HIRE THIS MA- oh wait..
Owen Price
based
have you tried this out yet? Melee gameplay with soulful visuals/sound
Jaxson Miller
>make almost everything unpunishable, promoting campy characters
>need shielding but make spotdodges amazing by allowing you to act out of them faster
>make online godawful in pretty much every way
>make zero characters that are interesting or fun to fight against
>remove all sense of momentum from the game
>add in 2-framing to reward people that don’t edgeguard
>butcher DI
>add a really garish effect to highlight the final blow in the match that doesn’t work
>overall focus on quantity over quality of the roster
>rage
SSBU is trash
Christopher Myers
Rage and comeback mechanics are based
Oliver Watson
Melee. Easily. Even as a casual player playing each game on release all the games past Melee have felt like shit.
Owen Baker
Depends on the context. I like playing melee since the physics makes combos lots of fun in a way no other game really has and netplay + friends / discord server is max comfy, but I like ultimate’s roster and the movelists of a good amount of characters (swordies imo haven’t been fun since melee except Ike, and then there’s megaman, duck hunt, snake, peach, etc. who are still fun imo)
The only thing I really don’t like about ultimate is the input lag, but I can adjust
William Ross
I prefer ultimate.
Nothing against melee tho
Anthony Baker
>would rather have 12 underdeveloped characters over 62 with full movesets, even with FE shit excluded
I don't even like Ultimate, but you're fucking retarded.
Liam Powell
Melee is almost better in every single way to me, the movement mechanics, the physics, having actual combos, netplay being better than Nintendo's trash online.
With all that being said, I still find ultimate fun though, but all the tr4sh mechanics in it, such as 2 framing, rage, and the ledges just annoy the fuck out of me.
Asher Jones
>brawl and smash 4 over anything
Evan Martin
smash ultimate swordies have mentally scarred some people, i don't blame them though.
Kayden Perry
literal zoomer taste from that retard, god i hate brawl and tr4sh.
Gavin Stewart
Ultimate.
Alexander Allen
Melee's the better game
Ultimate has the better roster
William Cook
Take a shower
Joseph Cook
>have to abuse bugs and overlooked features to make the game playable
sounds pretty shit to me desu
Jacob Bennett
But the bugs and overlooked features make the game better. Some of the best things on this planet were originally made by accident.
Kayden Reed
a slight downgrade in gameplay and Link's and Ganondorf's design, and an upgrade in everything else, I'll take it, though I still really like Melee
Aiden Reyes
i miss oot adult link so much
Kayden Foster
>abuse bugs
Wavedashing and L canceling aren’t bugs. They’re literally parts of the momentum resolution in the engine and were intentionally removed in later iterations
>overlooked features
Literally all popular fighting games have this.
Melee isn’t something you need to break your controller to play, even if some players like to do so because there’s money on the line. It’s just fun because there are a lot of options you can take in what seems like a relatively simple game. Both melee and ultimate are boatloads of fun but melee has stayed popular because the mechanics have lots of complicated implications on play between informed opponents
Jaxson Torres
>They’re literally parts of the momentum resolution in the engine and were intentionally removed in later iterations
yeah just like how fox infinitely comboing you into a wall isn't a "bug" it's just the way the engine is! but of course we can't have stages with walls to prevent such "tech".
wavedashing is fine though
Brayden Hughes
I don't know why you're wasting your time trying to educate people who don't want to learn.
Nolan Mitchell
Combos in fighting games were a bug
Camden Foster
it's funny tragic too that we got consistently great designs for Link in Smash, all the way until we finally get a modern great game... and they ruin Link's design with that BotW outfit, and the classic Link tunic has him looking like a poor guy cosplaying as Link
just fuck my shit up
Samurai had the decency of giving us both young and adult Ikes, but no luck with Link, damn it
also I'd like to have Fat Ganondorf as alt costume
and Toon Ganondorf since I'm asking for stuff anyways
Luis Turner
>Melee isn’t something you need to break your controller to play
No, you just need one pre-broken the right way in factory. Otherwise you're at a disadvantage.
Cooper Gomez
>infinite combo
You can option select out of these since percent modifies knockback and you get enough time to turn it into a tech chase. There are guaranteed percent combos for sure, and the game isn’t perfectly balanced, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say that infinites are a problem melee has
Liam Peterson
you misread what i said
>fox has infinie down air > shine combos on characters against a wall
>every single stage with a wall is banned because of this
even though it's "not a bug it's just a consequence of the engine!!!!"
Josiah Scott
Yes for certain top level strats, but even then you don’t need to do it. Do you play top level melee with your friends? To hit basically all mechanics except this one, you can literally just use a normal controller
Ethan Robinson
it's one of the most powerful high level movement options in the game but keep telling yourself how that's okay because it only applies to good players
Isaiah Flores
Come one dude. The one on the right even has shade from his hat. That’s it right there mayne
