No one cares, companies will adapt
Back to fixed prices.
A lot of 4channel posters love their gacha games
I think they will be unhappy
The only people who defend these types of games are the people making them.
And season/battle passes with shit loads of timed + exclusive skins.
>without any boxes
It's good.
its true, there isn't any randomized aspect in their store, you buy what you want, not a chance to get what you want.
I'd be glad. I'd probably also ban all forms of gambling and outdoor advertizing.
>Save the world
do people even play that?
also was talking about the BR
I’ll laugh at the greedy asshats who built their monetary model on this shit. Then move on, I don’t buy loot boxes so it doesn’t affect me one way or another.
I guess in the PvE mode here But that isn’t making next to any money compared to the BR.
>need to buy battlepass to be able to ‘unlock cool things’
>battlepass leveling progression filled with grind, can buy the battlepass AGAIN to give a big boost
>all while being flashed tons of daily skins and emotes that may not be for sale the next day
I also wouldn’t be surprised if they’re doing that alleged Activision matchmaking metric where players with few cosmetics get queued with those that do.
you don't even need to buy any ranks to the battle pass, just logging in every day and doing weekly challenges will put you up on the 80s in rank, the rest you can easily get playing the game and getting XP to level up
It will be good to see the government taking a stand against toxic trends in gaming. Hopefully they'll address the masculinity, bigotry and sexism inherent in the medium too.
>matchmaking metric where players with few cosmetics get queued with those that do.
with how most of the people are using the default skin i'd say that's probably false
There was a small community before BR blew up. Theres more people playing but most of them are fucking brainlet retards who can't figure out the basic mechanics of a simple PvE gamemode.
It allows me to grab cosmetics on BR practically for free.
I haven't put any money into BR for a year and I've grabbed every battlepass since S3 and a fuckload of emotes.
Honestly nobody would give a fuck.
Companies, however, would rapidly go out of business/stop making flavour-of-the-month games for everyone to shit all over.
It would be better and we wouldn't get random fucking chinese games kept alive by farming whales and all half-good/popular games being plagued by cosmetic shit all the way to pay-to-win garbage mostly
But it's not going to happen. Nobody cares enough to kick up a fuss.
People just play the game with the loot box and try to ignore it, meanwhile they see the industry going down the shitter.
'Hurr this game is a basic shooter with guns, let's make the classes have cosmetic paint on their clothes'
'Uhh, you can play for 100 hours to unlock one gun, or you can pay $9.99 and unlock it now!'
It's like this slimy shit is invisible to some people.
There's a whole lot of cognitive dissonance going on
Honestly I think it's past time the state stepped in and did something about video games. They're generally violent, promote gambling and objectify women and in 2019 that isn't acceptable.
The industry had a chance to clean its act up and now I'm glad the state is protecting our children from corporations.
The WHO has identified gaming as a mental disorder and I think that we need strict regulation of this dangerous substance.
