If you beat the secret boss, it actually powers up the final boss!

>the secret boss goes to kill the final boss for you
What game? I've only had games where beating the secret boss more or less makes the final boss pointless and too easy.
Star ocean: the second story?
I think I remember reading that killing WEAPONs in FFVII makes Safe Sephy stronger. It doesn't really help him that much though.
>>if you beat the secret boss, he murders the final boss!
>youtu.be
Don't think the WEAPONs did but using Knights of the Round on JENOVA did. "Summoning Knights of the Round during this battle will give the main body of Bizarro∙Sephiroth an extra 60,000 HP and Safer∙Sephiroth an extra 80,000 HP. "
FFXII Revenant Wings did it. Killing the hidden boss causes the final boss to jump to level 99.
It's actually a pretty good mechanic, and I'm surprised that most games don't use it. The Final boss SHOULD be the most difficult, since the game is over after you beat them. They can just have an easy mode for players who strictly want to see the ending and didn't do optional stuff.
it's sad that don't even notice the difference, it recognize there was a problem and tried to solve it but it's way underplayed
>boss has healers you must defeat first
>Boss can revive the healer
>Healer can revive the boss
Oh hey, you're right. Must've been thinking of another game. I know there are more examples of this.
bumping for interest
name one game
God I wish I could try Jollibee spaghetti
I am leaving for the US soon and I will be staying on a state with no jolibee. Man I'm going to miss cheap shitty Filipino foods.
Sa Jollibee
Bida ang saya
Just make regular spaghetti sauce and dump like a full bag of sugar and a dozen hotdogs into it
>Twin bosses
>Kill one
>All the damage you did to the other is healed
chrono trigger final boss?
>talking to a random NPC after reaching the final save point powers up the final boss
Dragon Quest VI
>Make shitty generic trope thread
>200+ replies
What are some characters who would like food from Jollibee, like pic related?
There's one in Queens just go there when you come see ny
name 1 game
Many SaGa games give you optional boss fights that can make the final boss stronger or weaker, though most of these actually need you to not defeat the optional bosses in order to power up the final boss.
>boss has healers you must defeat first
I've never seen a game do this right
recommend me some games bros
makes sense, since it's unlikely that the player will find a secret boss on their first run without reading walkthrough (and you want to have the game more challenging next time)
Also
>every NPC you failed to save powers up final boss
git gud
Not exactly the same, but if you meet the conditions to fight Akuma in Street Fighter II, he'll defeat Bison for you when you reach him and instead you fight Akuma.
>you need to beat the final boss 7 times to unlock the true ending/true final boss
>developers expect you to play through the game 7 times over (with only minor differences each playthrough)
>can literally just beat the boss, reload save 7 times instead
Star Ocean 2
you dumb nigger that's not a video game
>twin bosses
>kill one
>the other one picks up the dead one's blade and slices you up dual wielded
i like how they did the final dungeon in SaGa Frontier 2
a gauntlet of optional bosses that, if left alone and ignored, would power up the final boss
however fighting them would take resources and in some cases would require you to abandon party members as they fought 1v1 to buy you more time
it became a question of how many resources you felt you could expend on all these boss fights versus how powerful you felt your party was to take down a potentially super powered final boss
of course with stuff like Arc Stones and Life Seeds, you could fight all the bosses and then go into the final fight fully replenished but that still means managing all the other fights while a bit beaten up
What game?
Megaman X3, beat three optional bosses and the real Zero takes out a fake Zero that Sigma built. It's the closest I can think of.
As overstated the difficulty of SF2 is, most people outside veterans don't really keep all those arc stones until the end of the game, especially since chances are you're going to need it for the sudden difficulty spikes in the game, most people don't know you can keep life seeds either.
Forcing you to leave party members behind and fight bosses on duels was a good idea though, they probably thought to change that from RS3 since you could fight the noble devils with your full party in there before the final boss, though to be honest, the noble devils are tougher to solo than any of the Edelritters outside of maybe the Fire Lord.
My favorite pre final boss gimmick has to be the last fight with the minions in Minstrel Song though. that was honestly something I never thought I would see.
Not that user but is there a reason why the powerup happens lore wise or its just a
>lol enjoy +stats on final boss
type of toggle?
I don't live anywhere even remotely near the Philippines, yet the consistent matches I get on dating sites are all from Cebu City for some reason, they're cuter than the ones in CA
>Jollibee buys smashburger
>Start seeing Jollibee threads on /ck/ and Yea Forums
Is this an aggressive marketing scheme to push into American markets. Look at this fucking shilling. When no one took the bait responding to the images with the brand name, this marketer had to name drop the brand with a meme cat.
>tfw went to philippines with wife and tried jolibee. I mean it's ok but nothing special, great chicken though.
There's some very hacky lore around. Said NPC is related to the final boss and has something that limits his power. When you talk to her, she flips it off. Automatically, by the way. You don't get a prompt.
>There's some very hacky lore around
How hacky are we talking about here?
The Last Remnant
It's basically monster all over again. This time you don't have an autists spamming his garbage on everyboard on a 24/7 scale.
But there's already Jollibees in the US. And Smashburger is American.
they owned smashburger now
Right but there's no point in trying to break into American markets because the restaurant itself is American and already has multiple franchises in the country. Getting flush with cash from a holding company isn't going to change that.
At what part is it that SF2 gets super hard? I managed to get kinda far in it but I was a kid and had no idea how SaGa games were so I only made it as far as that weird forest dungeon where you suddenly get a new party and couldn't beat the boss.
It's mostly based on a hidden enemy growth calculation determined by the number of fights you're in -- which puts opponents further ahead as you spend more time grinding worthless enemies. If you're constantly fighting strong enemies, you'll grow in power and be able to tackle what the game throws at you reasonably well. If you spend an afternoon bashing weak targets, you'll get nowhere and may even reach a point where it becomes impossible.
For some reason, Ken was the first person who sprang to mind.
and I don't even play street fighter
>tfw no filipina GF
Star Ocean 2 has something like this going on though I don't remember exactly how it works
Chrono Trigger, Magnus ending
Filipinos have the most annoying accent. Even Indians sound better. Actually no Mexicans sound better.
>Get 100% completion before final boss
>It powers them up to offset the player's gains
>see some short stack filipina around
>she got a bit thicker
>those legs ass and hips
wew lads
wait WHAT
fucking hell. is this the reason why i could never actually beat the Egg
did two playthroughs years and years ago, thinking i was clever grinding out for stronger moves, but that was a fucking mistake?! beat everything else in the game but the Egg was always insurmountable to me.
then my brother just blazes through the game and curbstomps the Egg with minimal grind. i didnt even know it had a fucking second form...
i love the game though. music, graphics, and story were great. gameplay was also interesting for a turn-based game
Hey, us filipinos!
>You beat the secret boss
>gives you a blowjob
Ken would like the chicken
