friends, if you have legitimate friends to play with it can be a real blast. i played with just 1 friend and it was just the two of us in the server and we stayed up for hours.

I didn't know about that heist thing. I have one that adds the garages and houses and shit. Also tried one that added businesses but somethingn fucked up and it tanked my performance for some reason down from like 120fps average if ran uncapped to 30

All of my mates and I (9 all up) grabbed it on release and all of us dropped it a week later.

We've periodically fired it up again now and then over the last few years after updates but the whole thing is so critically flawed I genuinely don't understand how anyone could enjoy it.

Everything from the fuck awful, baby's first SA mod tier "inventory menu" that you're endlessly spamming snacks through, to the paper thin body armour designed to do nothing but milk you of max money, to the designers thinking having to spend 30 minutes unloading garbage trucks full of drugs in public lobbies full of people with attack choppers and shit was viable pvp design etc

I don't doubt that there is fun to be had fucking around, but GTA Online as it was designed and intended is not fun in the least.

I honestly don't think there was any consideration put into GTA Online at all, it was literally a trainwreck that they were designing and creating as they went.

If anyone remembers what it was like on release back on PS3/360 it was the most barebones, half assed and broken shit imaginable and all they've done since is trickle out new cars and themed updates with half assed missions.

It has hundreds of missions though.

Which no one plays because waiting 30 mins to find another player, who will be a potato brained moron and die instantly then quit so you have to wait again, is not worth the 15k pay.

Yes. If you liked dicking around in the single player without playing any missions it's actually more enjoyable in GTAO since there's impromptu challenges to take part in and other players to dick around with. Plus the new casino mission set is actually a pretty fun timewaster, just drive around and shoot shit.
