I agree, but again, we are talking Nintendo here. Besides, there is a chance (we honestly don't know how Nintendo is handle this deals with third parties for DLC) that Nintendo it's aproaching third party allies thinking first on the companie, the IP later.

For example, if Capcom or Namco are involve, there is a huge poll of characters and genres to choice from, so there is no need to go back to an RPG. On the other hand, if Level 5 is involved, a company we mostly sleep on, but it's HUGE in Japan and an important third party for Nintendo, they would most likely offer a JRPG character. Even Bethesda, as much as some of us would prefer Doomguy... yeah, Dovaking is still a legit possibility, whatever we like it or not.

Again, I rather this DLC to be as vary as possible, but I doubt Nintendo is thinking that much on the genres, and even if they are, we still don't know how huge is the "list" or what kind of Moveset will Sakurai choice in the end.

This tweet is about working with a western composer, not with a western company in general. It's much easier to overcome the language barrier with executives (or employ your overseas branches to circumvent it) than it is when working with a single freelance artist. By comparison Phil Spencer has basically said that sealing this deal was a cakewalk.

We are also missing all the villains from Xenoblade 2, a game that almost got a rep, and had a direct expansion dedicated to most of those villains, and yet you don't see us Xenofags speculating for Malos as the extra character.

Sakurai stated that was another team, and not himself, in charge of the spirits, and they made some mistakes (Masket Man stolen render for example), so it's more likely that Sakurai DID came with the Safe Capsule inside joke, but the team screw over with the render they choice.

It was either and interview or one of his columns, I will look it up, but it short.

He was busy with the rest of the development, and according to him, it was other part of the team who went to dig up for all the spirits, coming with some he wasn't even aware of. In the end, he only stated that the spirits could be used as long as they could come up with the spirit battle, so it seems that this was the one part of the development that Sakurai was the less involved with, which again, would explain how a edited Render made by a fan, found it's way into the game.

The idea of Porky being in the capsule, seems like the kind of inside joke Sakurai would make, but the fact that it's the wrong capsule, as some fans may have point out, may be just a result of the team working on the spirits. That's why I don't think to much about it.

I don't think that's really the same when Porky has actively been a boss in Smash before. And he's an antagonist across 2 of the 3 Mother games, and even Ness' dad got a spirit

Again, inside jokes for Sakurai, the idea of Porku BEING the capsule for me feels like the same logic behind a lot of the inside jokes in other spirits, specially the Mother ones.

Again, the only Mother spirit missing that it's truly bafling is Porky, but for me it seems like the same logic of the Paz spirit being a bomb, or Megaman's final boss being Mewtwo, is an inside joke meant for the fans. The team just mess up the render.

All the other missing Mother spirits go to the same pile of no human spirits in Pokemon, most villains missing on Xenoblade, Sylus, Adeline and even the lack of enemies and bosses of Bayonetta... they were not a priority, and the team just didn't came up with an idea for them to begin with.

In any case, I am sorry, the only reason I am "over thinking" this, is because ever since Porky speculation started, his fans have been overthinking the subject, even though, again, the lack of Porky is just a inside joke. In true, Porky may be an important character, a crucial one even, but there was never an visible demand for him in Smash until his spirit was missing, he even "popular" as one of the most hated characters ever, which is actually good for the kind of character he is, but not so much for Smash. Now people want to bring all this ideas to make a case for him in Smash, even though they already miss their anniversary window, and the fact that Porky doesn't fit on the current DLC at all. Even from the point of this being Nintendo chosen... Mother is among the less likely IPs for Nintendo to promote right now.

I will say this, you guys have put together an amazing fandom and strong case for him in future games, maybe even a second season if it happens, but the idea of hims being planed for this season... yeah, I have no idea where that come from.

Rex, Spring Man, and even Decidueye (not sure how that would work with the Incineroar plan) where stated as characters that would have make it, if they had more time for development, but Rex was the one Sakurai truly regretted not being able to add, to the point of including not only the Mii Costume as an extra (and an "apology") in the season pass, put got more spirits than X (the previous game in the series) and a good chunk of music.

Yeah, he wasn't gonna make it into Smash due to the time his game was release, that's true, but it's clear he was the one who almost got in, even if just for the Sakurai byas.

But nothing in the summoning process would suggest that Porky is inside it. All that’s needed to summon the ASC is a Mr. Saturn (who helped build it in Mother 3) and 6 blue cores. No reference to Porky at all. So if the Capsule is actually supposed to have Porky inside of it, it’s a really half-assed joke.

Chosen Undead with Seeker/Ashen alts makes the most sense, with Solaire and Artorias in the background of the stage a la Dracula's Castle.

Doomguy is a perfect choice with good history and importance to gaming
Artorias is a DLC bossfight with limited moveset potential to set him apart from other big sword users(wow, he flips, jumps and goes into a super mode). Chosen Undead is better even if they're another faceless RPG protag

Yo am an active member. And no the server is not deleted, its just renamed and its not even about Steve vs Banjo Kazooie anymore.
