After exploring and trying to figure out why, you find out he was tasked with sealing away the dragon because it was awakening from it's slumber, and causing earthquakes, if it fully wakes up, it'll destroy the world, MC was using his body to keep it trapped. The children learned a move that can stop said dragon for good, a better seal, but in doing so, they seal their father alongside it.
Later, you learn the spell that can summon people and use it to save your father in the end, it's the same spell that gets taught to you in Rune factory 4 when you try to save Leon.

Oceans/tides of destiny sucks if you do this, the series has a huge emphasis on crafting and while in every other entry that I can remember you can either experiment or buy recepies but in Oceans you unlock recepies by doing missions for people and the missions unlock through affection.

Portraits are tweened, swimsuits have been slightly modifier, and there's some sort of post-marriage story selection mode. Not much.

If you wanted to play RuneFuck on Switch, that's pretty much it.

Shit man, I somehow almost forgot that Amber's story was just plain existential horror. Honestly, it WOULD be neat if you could say you can't bring yourself to bring OG Amber back at the expense of New And Improved Amber, and then marry her instead.

I think there were also more shortcut buttons for abilities, and more save files.

Its especially bad since amber outright chooses to disappear and give up her existence to the bodysnatching demon, even when the demon and you, her boyfriend beg her to not do so.

There's quite a timegap between RF1 & RF2, given that Ceci was able to grow up.
RF3 took place at least after the timeskip in RF2 started and RF4 takes place at least after all events in RF2 have concluded.
