honestly this. not to give OP attention but I always felt it was odd consoles went for 4k before they could run games at 1080p. That being said, games should just target high end PCs of the time, since console gamers don't care about slideshows.

PS5 will most likely be more powerful than PCs for the first 6 months than will go down quickly from there.

PS5 is a mid-range PC, it uses a Zen 2 CPU and a Navi GPU, both of which can be bought now.
Poor cooling in consoles mean that those parts will 100% be clocked lower than the regular desktop versions, like they were with current gen. It's going to release in either 1 or 2 years from now, at which point it will already be outdated.

The only console that was emulated during its lifetime that I can think of was the wii.

Emulation takes more processing power than the console because you are running an emulation of the WHOLE CONSOLE ON TOP OF YOUR PC RUNNING AN OS.

Developers haven't figured out how to properly replicate them to the point of being able to play ps4/some PS3/Xbox games. They're a massive drain on your processor and RAM because of this.
