You aren't good at shooting right off the bat, you need to invest in a skill, cause its an RPG. Once you get the targeting aug you can run and gun like its Quake.

The skill system is very littler. Untrained means you are worse than a child at it. Like you've never seen a gun before. Trained is okay, Advanced is good, and Master is amazing.
Pretty much a standard shooting game of that era starts you off as master and treats that like normal. In DE you have to specialize in it if you want to.
