Man i remember ice pick lodge. They were good back when I had a shit pc and dialup but now that I went full master race I just can't enjoy their memes and feel bad for ever enjoying it. Sometimes the best things come out of constrained situations. When I get real poor I'll prob be their fans again but then again indie gaming exists now so maybe not LUL.

I wonder if there’s a reason for that.

Pathologic Classic HD, Bachelor Route: You know, the City could just be one of Polyhedron rooms. Actually, enter Kids reveal, it kind of is. Anyway, it's sorta all in your head. Also, starts in Eva's house and contains weird Eva's story ark, we'll return to later.

Pathologic Classic HD, Haruspex Route: Notice the routes contradict each other? Good, pay attention to inconsistent characterization too. Also Eva survives for the stupidest possible reason (although throwing back to the Bachelor campaign's day 2) and then just stands there until the end of the route, making it apparent she was spared JUST to emphasize routes being mutually and irreconcilably contradictory.

Turgor ("Typгop") is the game as it was first released in Russia, while the Void is the english version, released some time later. There are several differences between the versions, some of them significant, some of them barely worth mentioning. I never played Turgor myself, so all I know comes from other anons in IPL threads, but I think the changes include:
>all dialogues are more straightforward
>large balance changes
>color didn't have a voice in the original (atleast I think so)
>endings are slightly different (I might be wrong on that one, don't really remember)

Some say the changes dumbed down the game, others say it's necessary to rein in Dybowskis artistic/autistic vision a bit for the game to be playable.

At any rate, there's a way to "patch back" your game to the way it was in the Turgor release. Specifically, you'll want to import the gamefiles of the polish version, while keeping english voice and text files.
I don't remember exactly how you do it, but if the thread keeps going for a while someone should be able to tell you. Or just google, it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Pathologic Classic HD, Changeling Route: To most of your adherents you announce they will die, the Town remains intact only by means of accepting death and possibility of death (both symbolized with Sand Pest) as part of everyday life and eventually something that will happen in YOUR life. What does that mean for Pathologic itself as an interactive artistic work? Disbelief. As in "willing suspension of disbelief". You know you are being lied to, you are reading a work of fiction. Which makes it apparent it's a work of fiction by boasting self-contradictions starting from the very first moments with its visual hodgepodge style and anachronisms. The only thing turning it into something of integrity is your imagination and your desire to deludr yourself to believe it being a living breathing world far away. Eva's story ark with the soul in the Cathedral is a parable to that, and Eva herself is likely a self-insert by one of the developers.

Someone give me a spoiler free rundown on the premise of this game.

Makes it look real surreal and I'm intrigued.

You walk around in huge empty spaces which look like depressive dead planets, and feed naked sluts with colored cum, to bring some life into that hollow, grey mess around, while hoes babble some philosophical garbage into your ears, to motivate you into finding more rainbow cummies for them. After spending 10 hours walking in circles and listening to that insane drivel, maybe even having a fap or two, devs put you on a timer, and you realize that you have to restart from scratch, game over.

That's The Void for ya.

Turgor is the original release, has a pile of different stuff.

Dialogues all different, a character or two look different.

If you have The Void on Steam, you can opt into Polish translation (which is actually just Turgor) and then get an English translation ontop of it to make it work. Don't know if that trick works on GOG.

Is hard as nails. It's mostly ressource management, but you have only one ressource that acts as your HP, mana, ammo, money and dialogue options. The rest of the game is fighting, running away and dating sim.
And when I say it's hard, I mean it. Expect to restart a couple of hours in, twice, because your decisions fucked up your savegame permanently.

It's a game by russian studio Ice Pick Lodge. If you're not familiar with them, they're masters at atmosphere and worldbuilding, but the rest is always a coin toss. The gameplay is miles better than in Pathologic, their first game, but the Void is still very much an *art* game. I'm sorry I couldn't resist

Hell, a smaller scale game like knock knock is probably the only thing they can do right now, I highly doubt they have the budget to do another BIG game like the void or pathologic

i put this game just above pathologic and the only real complaint i have is the brothers are built up so well and are so intimidating then when you fight them you just repeat the same spells until they die and theres no challenge
