Chao garden and edgy writing to fit the description of sonic and shadow

this and a couple levels were just so well done like that jungle one

The first stage had you boarding down the slopes of San Francisco

The soundtrack, kinetic and responsive levels for shadow/sonic, chao.

Good story, level design, music, lots of replay value, multiple characters, multiplayer, chao garden, and some really great style and aesthetic... so everything

weird yet based

Not a whole lot. The Sonic stages were better in some respects but worse in others. It's a similar story for the Hunting and Shooting stages. The story is a total mess and set a really nasty precedent that Sonic games could have ridiculous Shounen shit stories and created an entire generation of autists that not only liked that style of story, but often demand its return.

The game was really the beginning of the downward spiral for the series that Heroes only slightly delayed. (Though some could argue it didn't at all, which I can understand.) I have nostalgia for it, but it left a really bad mark on the series overall.

Based

Chao garden, some good sonic/shadow stages, above average OST and nostalgia. Overall game is shit but some real high points keeps the nostalgia train fueled.

It controls real good

Very fun game, not as good as the first but very fun like the first.

Cheesy writing.
Good music.
Good gameplay and controls.
Chao garden to relax from going too fast.
Good ending.
Shitty final boss though.

>Shitty final boss though.

It's bad gameplay wise but conceptually it's one of my favourite Sonic bosses. Even more hype than Perfect Chaos.

If there is ever a Sonic Generations 2 it would be awesome to see it redone.

Why did Sonic get so fucking babified? Not "haha shadow said damn LOLOLOL" But everything post 06 has been child friendly with maybe the exceptions of some moments in the storybook games, Sonic used to have words like "Ass, Damn, etc" In it's lyrics yet that stopped too, Along with the more mature wriiting.

This really put me off Unleashed and Colors. Sonic 1 to Heroes have the feel of a shonen manga, but more recent games remind me of nickelodeon more than anything.

The Sonic and Shadow levels. 2/3 of this game are complete horseshit. Even being nostalgiablinded don't pretend that you played this game for anything other than the sonic/shadow levels. Even those have serious issues but are still fun

Such a good song

The music
The Chao garden for the most part
Sonic and shadow stages
Replayability

Not enough went right. The dreamcast still wasn't powerful enough to do classic sonic gameplay in 3d, so everything was linear and scripted.

Sonic/Shadow Stages
>Linear
Did you even play the game?

Game falls apart by the first robot stage, so like stage three. First two stages are semi entertaining, after that it's a shit show.

I really liked Knuckles and Rouge's part in Cannon's Core. It would have been pretty cool if they ditched the emerald hunting and had their levels be platforming that isn't all about going fast.

This game was pure kino.

Video games are such fucking trash now

>SA2 not linear
Are you legit retarded?

>Dreamcast wasn't powerful enough
You're even dumber

I keep coming back for the music and choa

That was supposed to be San Francisco?

The Sonic Adventure series was the closest we got to a 3D Sonic done right.

Japanese version of San Francisco in the 90's.

team sonic even took a trip around the world to make the game you can even find pictures of them. San Francisco and the aztec temples and I think the desert

The soundtrack, chao garden and some of the sonic and shadow stages. The rest was horrible and SA2 is a mediocre game at best.

There was a vidoc commentary on youtube which i can't find anymore of the Sonic Team boys going on vacation to SanFran. They got inspired immediately.

Here I found it. It's really interesting and cool they decided to do this to get the game to have what they invisioned.

>sonic generations 2
you mean sonic forces?

the knuckles and rouge levels are ok, you guys just suck
you get to run as fast as sonic , just run to where the radar blinks and you will be done under 2 minutes

music

Amazing soundtrack
As a kid i felt like i was going super fast and it was awesome
sonic/shadow levels
chao garden

I wish they will make a SA3 and basically just take 2 and improve it in every way, would be super legit

I want to go back to early 2000s Sonic.

2000s kino
sanfran before the fags took over

Who the fuck thought the tails/eggman mech levels were a good idea, I'm playing a sonic game expecting speed, not a slow shooter, sa1 did shooting better with gamma

They should've had more flying segments, I would've loved a couple more Cosmic Walls. The hard mode on the shooting stages is a lot of fun, however.

A have a lot of affection for this game, and it was probably within my top 5 games of all time back when I was a young'n playing it.

But hot damn is it blatantly trash from top to bottom.
