name one time the audio was out of sync.

What? That never happens. You're not a filthy plebbitor playing with the dub, are you?

In terms of overall objective quality I'd rank it below the first Xenoblade (which was one hell of a damn well put together JRPG), but I personally liked it more.
Even though I could probably complain about its issues and wasted potential all day, and have a incredibly hard time recommending it to others, it's easily one of my favorite games of all time.

Can't say I noticed any audio desync outside of the lack of lipsync when using the dubbed voices, though. If that's such a huge problem for you, why aren't you using the Japanese VA DLC?

It was utter garbage, a buddy of mine invested somehow more than 200 hours... I'm pretty sure that he just liked the anime titties...

Diamond in the rough.
Mountains of QoL issues and gacha shit obscuring a very sincere and heartfelt JRPG

definition of a rough diamond.

It was a great game, and if you've autism with syncing just play it in Japanese you dunce

Favorite game of 2017, NierA was 2nd.

Xenoblade feels like one of the few RPG series that doesnt want to dumb it down for its players, and I love the level of customization this game gives. The next entry in the series Monolith will do will be special aswell.

I think something's wrong with your copy because the audio was perfectly in-synch when I played. Unless you mean the lip synching in which case

I'm with you there.
XB1 was very tightly knit and polished.
XB2 though felt more expansive, a classic case of reaching beyond one's grasp. Lots of attempts at different systems with spotty results. The Blade System itself was great, the acquisition of Blades and some affinity nodes were not
The cloud sea mechanic is a great way to give a sense of scale and time, but it's barely ever used in interesting ways.
Hope it gets a remake or re-release in 10 years that irons out the issues.

Sometimes good, sometimes aggravating as hell, terrible villains, snore-worthy plot until Chapter 7 turns things around.
Zeke and Nia are great characters, everyone else ranges from dull to highly annoying.
The connection to Xenoblade 1 was unexpectedly well done and justified the entirety of the game.
I'm still going to be approaching Xenoblade 3 with immense caution because 2 was janky as fuck at launch.

definition of shit covered in sparkles.

Fact: there's never been a single good Xeno game (including gears and saga)

sounds like your mom lmaooooooo

Cringe Kino

Fact: you're a single digit IQ retard.

30 hours in. Hated it at first. Then really liked it. Now I find it a chore. Combat is cool once the game stops holding your hand and lets you have at it, but it's easy to fall into a groove of just break - anchor shot/topple - launch - smash, repeat. I like the big tiddies and wide hips but the characters are pretty boring or ugly looking besides that. Tora and those fur balls are the worst thing Japans done to us in several decades. Game is janky as shit. Dubbed cutscenes remind me of Kung Pao Enter the Fist. Anime tropes are overbearing. Really regretting dropping 60 bucks on it, thinking about trading it for literally anything more fun. Also fuck field skills and that bullshit minimap and the menus and Poppi's menu in particular.

>The cloud sea mechanic is a great way to give a sense of scale and time, but it's barely ever used in interesting ways.
Oh man, that. Starting NG+ again and seeing how they built it up in Gormott like it was going to be some huge part of the game and then go on to use it exactly one more time was kind of hilarious.

It's the best jrpg of this gen

Yeah, it is not perfect but honestly atleast it tried something different with the combat, i hope XB3 perfects the combat and they remove the gacha stuff, since that was the worst part of the game for me.

For people who have played XBX and XB2 - which is the better game?

X had better exploration, 2 had better everything else.

2 but I love X aswell

I'd sooner replay X than 2, but enjoyed playing 2 more.

That's a hard question to answer.
>exploration

X

>people are still talking about this game

These are waifu threads. The games are shit

Here's your (you)

oh and also in all of these, XC1 is better than both in all categories except exploration, combat and side quests
yes, artstyle included

Cringy game, great porn we've been over this for years.

Xenocringe 2 fags are desperate for attention now a days. They'll take whatever they can at this point.

Based

8 hours in, normal difficulty.
The frame rate is abominable, the resolution seems to be 3ds's 240p tier and the english script is retarded. I keep getting destroyed by random mobs too that appear to be around my level. So far, not having to much fun but I guess it will get better.

X had better art than 1, even if it had worse models
1 is good but X was better
2 also has better characters than 1's

New people keep pickign it up apparently
Yeah, the handheld performance is dogshit
The combat really picks up around early chapter 4 where you get all three Blades on your drivers (save for Tora who doesnt get all three Blade slots until Chapter 9)
Buckle-in cause it's a while until this game really gets going

Great “stealth” trolling, Eric. The game is the most successful in the franchise and the Xeno name continues to live on, so stay seething buddy.

>I keep getting destroyed by random mobs too that appear to be around my level
You're not trying to explore Gormott when you basically only have Rex when the game is balanced for a full team of party members, are you?

post the webm

Yeah, I know for a fact the game will get better later on. I'm playing docked though.
I just lost nia so pretty much yeah.

The game does not get better later. The combat does. The game is bad the entire time though. People only like it because of the anime sloots

1. Are you leveling your Arts?
2. Are you equipping your Core Chips?
3. Are you filling in both your Drivers and Blades' affinity charts?
4. Do you have a good setup for pulling off Driver and Blade combos reliably? Do you understand how these combos work?
5. Do you have good accessories and pouch items equipped?
6. Do you understand auto-attack cancelling top speed up Special build-up?
7. Are you using your Arts appropriately as to trigger their secondary effects and thus accelerate Party Gauge build-up?

I just got a second blade for the first time so I can only do so much so far tbqh

I remember when the game came out, a reviewer described a side-dungeon "in the stomach of a smaller titan," and a "gravity-changing" mechanic that was used within the dungeon. Second playthrough and I still have no idea what he was referring to...

a classic

Well, that's your problem. You wouldn't go at work naked, same way you don't go in the open in a jrpg when you don't have your team prepped and ready. Also, newfriends pasta tips:

-Screencap tutorials because there isn't a reasonable way to view them again.
-Rex automatically gets fantastic blades so you don't need to give him much Blades from the gacha (but give him 2 or 3 good Blades)
-Use Pouch Items as much as possible, especially the ones that lets you recharge your Arts faster. Makes the flow of the battle better.
-On skill trees, you will see an ability unlock "Cancel a driver art with another driver art". It's imperative that you unlock this ASAP because it boosts the flow of battle tremendously.
-Also get the 3 skills that lets you start a battle with the Art already charged on the X, Y and B buttons
-Understand the Attack Cancelling mechanic, as it makes the flow of the battle better by recharging Arts quickly
-Swapping blades refills their arts palette.
-You can combo into and out of swapping blades.
-Most enemies will aggro you if you aren't 8 levels above them. And look at your environment before taking a step in the wild, or you could get your ass raped by a Gorilla 80 levels over you. But the game don't punish you for exploring, so don't be afraid to do it.
-Don't use too much bonus XP at inns unless you really need to because it can completely trivialize the game.
-Focus on the Driver Combo of Break > Topple > Launch > Smash when they will be introduced. The sooner you can understand this set up, the better.
-You can raise trust between a Driver and their Blade by repeatedly using pouch items over and over again.
-Raising trust with your Blade is needed to unlock the Blade's skill tree in most cases.
-Don't waste protocol overdrives. Especially on common blades.
-DON'T kill the little Arduran in Torigoth until you feed it to Lv.99. He'll become the best Legendary Cores farming spot

i thoought my game broke when tora does that

Attached: iowa.webm (638x360, 2.9M)

probably meant the spirit crucible?

I don't speak japanese, and I doubt you do, so I don't think you can tell if it's good in the japanese VA either. Its literally just lip flapping

Why is that? The entire appeal of X is exploring this huge alien world, and that's all lost on replay because you've already seen anything.

Attached: 1558633257168.webm (780x540, 2.93M)

>Terrible villains
I'm sure you say this because you're smart enough to know that Malos wasn't a villain, merely an antagonist with an opposing goal

Attached: 70f.jpg (400x400, 18K)

Pyra reacts to it in the background

I'm no anglo, so I'm perfectly neutral on the matter. Both are foreign to me. English sounds like shit AND is not synced. Japaneses sounds good and is synced as it should be. Period.

What dies nia's nia taste like?

What?

I'll stop trying to doing side quests for the moment then, thanks for the newfag pasta but I already have it saved

You can't understand japanese, that's fine me too.

but the lip flapping in a literal 2017 game, thats like ps2 era shit

Still mad my NG+ save file bugged and never unlocked the third blade slot

My save file had Dagas revert back to a previous driver after I'd used an overdrive on him. I've since started that save file over though.

never heard of that happening to anyone before.
could you get it back by finishing the game and getting to that point in a second ng+?

T.Obessed boogeyman fag. The absolute state of these fags.

X has more build variety and is better for free roaming and challenging yourself against the world even if you disregard the main quest, while 2 is more linear, doesn't offer as much in terms of exploration and areas are locked behind story progress.

>t. eric

>doesn't offer as much in terms of exploration
That's only really in the final chunk of the game starting at the Cliffs of Morytha. Every titan has a lot of areas on the side to explore.

More like from chapter 4 on. You could really feel how the staff being diverted to work on BOTW's world gimped XB2's exploration at that point.

I wonder? I beat the game and started over before they released the NG+ patch, so that must've done it.
>Game was completely reset because it was pre-update, aside from a star next to the file
>I'm at the final dungeon with everyone having two blades
>Wulfric didn't unlock by story either
>Skill barriers were a pain to get past
>Unlocking final Poppi made it so Tora can cycle between all three on the field, but can only equip two in the menus and in battle

>Game was completely reset because it was pre-update, aside from a star next to the file
does that mean you restarted the game normally before the ng+ update but it kept the star? that's odd
anyways, your game sounds all kinds of fucked up. did wulfric ever become available at all? what about the other story-locked blades like roc, aegaeon and blade nia?

Here's a fun fact: Japanese animation almost always does the facial animation first and the voices second. That puts native and foreign dubs on the same playing field because the lips aren't intended to be synced with anything in particular.

I'll never understand why japs do things this way.

All other blades unlocked normally, just didn't receive Wulfric's core from the Uraya boss fight. I'm guessing he's in the random blade pool as if you had manually released him. I think the patch just didn't check certain flags for new games. Going to try beating it and seeing if NG++ has three blade slots, and if not I'm just clearing the data

I would assume it's probably easier with the way they crank things out. And, now that there are more people watching anime outside of japan it would also make business easier down the chain

I'm playing with the Japanese dub and I noticed some syncing issues when it comes to lips

Certainly not. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were talking solely about vidyas, which may be the case, but it also means its easy to correct after the recording if they have enough time and want to commit to it. But besides that, the mere fact that they bring all the actors in the same fucking room makes a league of a difference from how it's done here in the west for vidyas, at least for XC2. Movie dubs do it properly, at least, but that's to be expected as they're not on a shoestring budget.

Nia cosplaying as a literal tyrant and genocider.

Attached: IMG_20190713_210634.jpg (1534x2048, 238K)

I like it a lot but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Anime has always been known to have simple mouth movements that were done before scripting and voicing
Take anything else and compare it to Akira, one of the few Japanese works to do the voicing first. The mouth animation is much more varied and synced to the acting because it was made second.

I'm still debating getting FE3H or not. I'll wait to see if the leaks about the content are indeed true, as that would redeem the game, but it feels so low effort I just can't give my money.

Attached: EAL4LyVWsAA6N4l.jpg orig.jpg (1656x2048, 247K)

The game has shit artstyle, after Hidari, going to this is like going from top grade meat to fucking grass.

I'm too skeptical to play it coz 90% of the genre has awful writing including its prequel.

Akira is indeed well done, and mouth movements are indeed varied. But we're talking about syncing. When dubbing is done while the animation is still in pic's related state then syncing is not an issue. Everything has yet to be drawn, and if the already recorded dub goes beyond the intended roughs, it's just a matter of adding a few repeated frames/mouth flaps in the final product.

I was more invested in the world of the first game but it's a damn good JRPG. The first time I played it I couldn't get into it but once you really hit the meat of the game it's fantastic.

lmao

Attached: EARotHNVUAE6mH4.png (900x328, 373K)

The subs for the game are for the dub and the battle banter and after battle talks aren't subtitled so there's no real reason to play with the JP audio unless theres a mod to make the subs more accurate

Simple, It rarely happens nowadays.

Cute.

>there's no real reason to play with the JP audio
The reason is that the dub is full of terrible direction that fucks with scenes.
