Why do you bother faking playing fighters OP? Just shut up and post pictures of girls, fighting AI doesn't count

My skill, or lack thereof. Been playing fighting games for nearly 28 years but I simply cannot grasp how to play them properly. At least half of my faps come from fighting game girls, though.

This. I put that time toward learning to play guitar instead. I still fap to fightan girls though

Why not?

Where are her pants?

There's lots of stuff online you can choose from.

Why is Chun-Li uncomfortable in that? She wears the exact same thing, minus the leggings

Any player worth their salt can easily fight AI opponents and lock them in frame traps.
That is unless the AI deliberately reads inputs, breaks out of combos without any specific mechanic, or is just blatantly SNK boss tier

>Online
>intimidating
nigga 100% of online is just retards trying to hit other retards in the face. 75% of those retards mash, 20% know combos but no neutral, and only the top of the top 5% know some basics of neutral
you'll be fine, if you don't try you won't improve and all that

if i can lock an AI in frame traps what's stopping me from locking another player in the same frame traps?

>computer is more intelligent than a human
Wow

Skill and some people to play with. I'm 31 now with almost no fighting game experience, I don't stand a chance compared to people who have been playing constantly since they were children.

28 fucking years though, jesus christ man. That's not even laughable, that's just plain amazing you can still be bad at something

I am too busy with other stuff and what little time I have for games usually goes to rpgs.

this is a nostalgic pic, holy shit

>shitters are worse than computers
It's happened before

I learned how to play better mostly by playing online and mostly don't have a clue about top player conundrums in the UNIST community. Also once it clicked, learning new combos became much faster and picking up other characters much easier then when I started out.

Felt quite rewarding to go from a casual fighting game player to having a pretty good understanding of alot of technical stuff first hand in the genre.

I'm not going to pretend to know how AIs work but they usually eat whatever frame-trap or command grab reset I usually do even when I'm not making them do the same motion in practices.

They're boring. Fun enough to dick around in for a while but the moment I feel like I should go into practice mode to lab out a certain setup or other specific scenario in order to improve I just drop it.

Attached: 1555051635512.png (754x928, 89K)

This is the mindset of most people who pick up a new fighting game

Because I'm on wifi now

basically DO NOT PLAY classic MK

that's because the AI you fight against are dumb and try to attack instead of blocking. a good AI will think like a human, and will understand the approximate lengths of blockstun and how fast your next move will hit. a superb AI will learn on it's mistakes, if you anti-air it's jump ins it'll learn to not jump in, if you hit it with a frametrap it'll learn what it is and will try to use it against you

And it always will be. The genre is niche for a reason, that reason being that most people just don't find the games very fun.

>he can't win with neutral alone
scrublords like you are never gonna make it

So what you're saying is you don't like the part of building muscle memory to do new things to your characters.

Sounds like going to the gym and only doing the compound exercises because you don't like spending time to learn new exercises that attack other muscle groups that arent really hit hard in compound exercises.

I'd rather jack off to the fan art

How many times have you won EVO?

Yeah except going to the gym is way more rewarding with results that are much more widely applicable than investing that time into a niche video game genre that practically no one cares about.

And it's great.
Gives a boost in sales while weeding out the unnecessary fodder

>implying devs don't just have the AI read your inputs and instantly react for some "difficult AI"
Fighting CPUs in general is really only good for getting used to blockstring practice so you can throw out combos more consistently against a moving and blocking target instead of just wailing at the training mode dummy for all of your combo practice.

Not him but yeah I don’t want to mess around with new stuff I just want to stick to the basics

>i can't do thing X
>>there's also thing Y you could do
>OH YEAH?! HOW MANY TOP TIER TOURNAMENTS DID YOU WIN WITH THING Y?????
with a mindset like that even learning neutral won't help you

I'm not autistic enough to play the most repetitive genre for so long

And what does "sticking to basics" involve? Light medium heavy maybe a command normal into a special?

You can do both. Just moderate your time.

Gym time should only take an hour to an hour and a half to get stuff done in. Shorter if you're super setting while you lift or set a particular cardio goal time limit.

I used to have an excuse that I don’t have any people near me to play with and my internet connection is bad now that I have a decent internet I’m just waiting for a fightan game that isn’t dead

If you put in the time I guarantee you could take a game off a person who's been playing since they were a kid.

This applies to most hobbies.

Fuck I wanna have an ass like that

Which genre do you play that isn't repetitive? Most games have a samey game loop ideal.

i can also read your inputs. it's called looking at what your character's doing.
as i said, most fighting game AIs are bad. they don't respect restrictions placed upon humans, while at the same time they don't use the tools they're given to full potential, just like the AI in advance wars ignores fog of war but then tries to capture a city instead of getting advantage by killing your dudes. a lot of people do it but that does not mean it's good to do it.

I played a pick-up game against a guy in basketball who was playing since he was a kid. He was garbage.
An overwhelming majority of online players are fucking garbage

>I’m just waiting for a fightan game that isn’t dead
More excuses, user?

Attached: Malfunction.jpg (731x573, 109K)

I'd love to be somewhat decent at a fighting game, but I just feel like you need a certain brand of autism or something because I just can't. I can barely learn Smash let alone a fighting game.

It might be less autism required to play fighters and you being a bit retarded

Tekken and SFV both have average of 1000 players at any given moment
Also I live in the middle of nowhere and playing with Americans are just not possible ._.

Eh, maybe. I can pick up most genres and be decent at them with little effort, just something about fighting games I can't get into. Maybe I'm retarded, maybe I'm not black enough, maybe I just don't have patience for it, I dunno.

>you need autism
>you need 10000hrs before you git gud
>I have no scene to play
What are some other cop outs?

Attached: Nnaaing at your life.jpg (432x587, 47K)

Nothing comes close to fighting games in terms of repetitiveness.
Least repetitive I think will be rogue-likes, tbt, 4x, etc

What I meant was that they instantly react to your inputs.

Some "exteme" difficulty CPU is not as good as fighting a human because the human player had to make the effort to learn your character's neutral where as the aforementioned CPU is programmed to react to all of your different moves which is no fun.

I'd much prefer practicing my combos on medium difficulty and building my neutral with other humans locally or online since it's pretty much impossible to do so against highest difficulty CPUs that will instantly counter most of what you throw out on offense.

Trying to play MK11, I cannot stand that it had a dedicated block button.
It makes my arcade stick feel worse to use than a pad.

How can you stop learning when you don't even play them to begin with?

Attached: 1c7lfc.jpg (225x225, 8K)

Mobas come real close

i play tekken sometimes

This means absolutely nothing to you but

In NYC years ago when Chinatown Fair was still up once in a while when I went eventually Id see some black guy who would show up around when the SF cabinets were not that active just sit down and play against nobody

Inentially waiting for nobody to sit down and just play against the AI doing arcade mode. Hed win and just pick a different character and go through the arcade mode. I seen him do this numerous times. To be fair Arcade AI is better than console but the takeaway is that some people just play for fun and not the competition which is why people make a fuss over SF5 lacking single player shit and why MK is crazy popular

surely you can assume that he hasn't spent 28 years in training mode and playing online, since, you know, fighting games didn't even have those things then

I can think of a few.

Puzzle, point-and-click adventure, platformer, turn-based JRPG to list a few.

>SF5 lacking single player shit and why MK is crazy popular
I think that's why I liked Injustice 2's multiverse challenges. didn't have to play against people and still got new content

Zero interest

I understand if it's an arcade and the possibility of fighting someone literally depended on having another person physically there
But with online? A bit less understandable. It's kind of how I can completely understand why people don't like fighters when the most they can do is mash and not try to go beyond that.

A completely off-beat example but when I saw streamers playing Nero DMC5 I now fully understood what people meant when they found Nero boring, nobody knew how to Exceed or knew that mechanic existed. All they did was spam Streak, of course no one would have fun with that.

>implying you can't put a simple 250 ms delay on the AI's reading of your inputs, and also give it some sort of extra confusion add-on that will make it think a hadoken and a hadoken fakeout (for example, Sol Badguy's 236P and 214P) are the same move
>implying you can't teach an AI rudimentary spacing and tell it the lengths of it's moves and the distance away fromyou so it could into neutral
while i agree with your initial point, you gotta understand that it's not the fault of the concept of an AI, it's the fault of how they're executed. you do you but when an actual good AI comes over please don't yell at it's creator that he "made an AI that cheats". if he did then it's not a good AI

>casuals hating on casuals
what's wrong with hating myself? you wanna fight me to prove to me that i can't hate myself? you wanna go bro?

Nothing, playing Tekken rn

Attached: Screenshot_34.png (1700x1026, 2.95M)

>To be fair Arcade AI is better than console
Not at all. But the real question is why not just play an action game? Or even a beat'em up? You'll end up getting more out of the experience. Look at mkg, they are always asking for a new shaolin monks and talking about how the old conquest modes where you walk around a world were so good. MK11 even kinda brought that back a bit with the krypt being 3D.

It is weird how other genres get away with next to no single players even at full price, yet fighters are almost expected to have 3 separate games inside. When they are really the worst possible genre for single player, as they either require a bunch of fluff around to justify fights or a way to modify the gameplay to keep it interesting. Cause fighting AI really isn't for long periods.

Attached: 1005411954184.jpg (850x765, 136K)

>It is weird how other genres get away with next to no single players even at full price
like what

Shooters are the most obvious, some have even stopped shipping with campaigns and have done fine. Overwatch had fuck all if you didn't want to play online and I don't think there is much still.

>Shooters are the most obvious
Only if all you pay attention to is AAA yearly release crap.

In fighting games sticking to the basics for me includes learning most of the combos for a straight forward character. Using those combos and single strikes along with a some blocking. Also I usually just stick to that single character.

Nothing
Playing SFV, Tekken 7, and UNIST at the moment

Attached: 1354685432168.jpg (850x1203, 518K)

>a good AI will think like a human
I don't think they are going to give AI that can think like a human to the fighting game devs. You really don't seem to get how an AI works in general, they don't actually think and learn. Games have attempted that but they end up wonky at best, and usually just rely on the normal AI. You are asking for something that doesn't exist in any game, at best they use a few fancy tricks to make them appear smarter.

>i can also read your inputs. it's called looking at what your character's doing.
Okay you straight up don't know anything

Capcom and Namco had a lot of shit in previous titles but they looked at the data for the amount of use players actually had in these modes which resulted in them getting cut.

While yes single player mode in fighters are a nice change of pace realistically after casual players have their fun its left to the die hards who play competitively for the most part

Capcom in SF4 had
Character unlocks via Arcade
Arcade mode
Team battle
Tournament mode

Tekken had
A fucking tutorial (TT2)
Time attack
Tekken Force
Tekken Ball

In the end these are great shit but at least MK has the buy in numbers to justify keeping shit in but in comparison the other companies are in a weird place between looking esports or trying to appeal to the 1 month then return casual players

but aren't those just advertised as online-only in the first place? it's not like they're (Overwatch, Fortnite, Apex) part of a franchise that has traditionally had a singleplayer. I will concede that a couple of CODs have done this though.

lack of will
if i don't succeed at first i will unlikely try something again

Eventually I have to graduate from bots and sharpen my claws on an actual human opponent. But everyone in matchmaking is some tournament-tier badass and I'm a scrub fresh off of training wheels.

Attached: What-kind-of-winpose-is-this-2B-DLC-Gameplay-SOULCALIBUR-VI-PS4.jpg (320x180, 13K)

>everyone in match-making is some tournament tier badass
You fucking wish

>AAA yearly release crap
So the big sellers that get the most casual attention? That doesn't disprove anything

>casual players have their fun its left to the die hards who play competitively for the most part
Pretty much. Single player content hasn't done a good job at keeping players long term, and I haven't seen much to suggest it turns players into competitive ones. But fighters also need it to sell in the first place, which often hurts features that long time players want. If they didn't all need hour long story modes that would be more time for online features and characters.

>but aren't those just advertised as online-only
Which is something that isn't deemed acceptable for a fighter. SFV announced its content before launch and people complained, yet that is okay for a shooter. I don't really remember the shooters with low content flaunting it.

>part of a franchise that has traditionally had a singleplayer.
Not like every fighter has, but both as genres have had prominent games which featured a lot.

>But everyone in matchmaking is some tournament-tier badass

Skill floor is too high, have to bash my head against a rock for months before I'm semi-competent and be miserable the whole time while I learn something I'm doing for fun.

People shit talk Smash a lot but because it has both a high skill ceiling and low floor, people can enjoy it at any skill level and still be motivated to do better. Probably why it's the only relevant fighting game (yeah I said it).

Is there a bigger "i dont play fighting games at all, ever" than proclaiming super alive and well games are "dead"? It's just a shitpost at this point, that or get the fuck off your PC.

>tons of games being played (SFV, Tekken 7, SamSho, Guilty Gear, Unist, and more
>fightcade exists, allowing you to play old games easily
>discord, as shitty as it is, allows you find people to play
>multiple fourms online and guides to ask advice and learn combos
>pads, sticks, and hitboxes are all eady to find and order online
You have NO excuses Yea Forums, just admit you're a shitter who can't handle the idea of getting good.

I use to pick up almost every fighter that came out and get at the very least half way proficient, but any more I lack the time to really learn the ins and outs in depth and also I just don't care as much for most fighters that have come out post SF4. MvC3 was a blast, and I enjoyed T7, but thats about it, everything else has been levels of shitty to mediocre.
I miss 3rd strike and Melty Blood being more of a thing

It's more of an excuse.
Then it goes up one level and you get saying anyone still around is too strong for them

These people are retards user, they see a game has 2,000 players and think "woah, literally dead" while games on fightcade like VSav have 12 or so people on average and still has a dedicated community. Literally just excuses by retards.

>guilty gear

s-shut up! there is nothing wrong with staying in training mode!

Attached: 1561878756251.gif (800x450, 1.01M)

Posts like this would hold any water if games like Tekken weren't seeing huge growth. Meanwhile simplified fighters like SFV, DBFZ and BBtag that most could pick up and easily play have failed to maintain players. Anyone could pick up SFV and get the basics down fast, yet they haven't. Almost like simplifying isn't the way to go. You've got to make an interesting system with depth and that will ultimately benefit you better long term.

Overall though the FGC has grown, people who say shit like only relevant fighter or fighters are dead just want to cover for their lack of skill. If the genre is dead then it is okay for you to suck. For many tournaments, including EVO, this year has the most total attendants ever.

you really dont need to worry about people being top tier online

Try SamSho, any retard can pick it up and understand it and combos can be learned in a day or two, mastering the movement and general system is the challenge.

That really depends if you have a shitter friend or friends to play against and grow stronger with

The reward is like learning to 1cc a shmup at an arcade. It's totally worth getting into imo.

There are communities with maybe a dozen people at most, I wouldn't call it dead.

I mean you could emulate if need be. Either way, graduating from learning basic offensive techniques to learning basic defensive techniques to getting your first perfect on a human opponent can be quite fun and satisfying.

My own mind. I can't get over my self-pity.

Attached: 1561835028409.png (640x480, 366K)

I think the only fair excuse now is there isn't a THE fighting game to get into. One that is generally pleasing to everyone's palate even if it isn't their favourite. It is great to see people trying all different types of games, but there not being a SF4 that you can chuck at anyone as the general way in does make stuff a bit harder. Communities need a pillar, a stable popular game that you can't really argue against being popular.

Well, can you give me a reason why now is a good time to get into fighting games?

Attached: tumblr_o2l547oLFn1r09vilo1_500.jpg (458x702, 167K)

Because they are generally even easier than they were years ago. Plus there are guides and everything to help you get better.

Skill and talent.

>Tekken likely isn't done and is still very active
>smash being active means you can play that as well
>Capcom have been expanding their esports division along with a SFV update on the way
>Anime fighters are easier to find play with than ever before
>Lots of new fighters on the way, including GBV
You even had to spin discord existing and making games playable as a bad thing

Is that Murata's art?

Honestly, just get into smash, there is no fighting game that is worth getting into over it

Anywhere in NA has locals for smash, so you can actually meet people and make friends, and the online is perfectly playable besides random wifi warriors

It's not forcing if you treat it like you treat it like any other game that requires anything more than xxx and yyy to get the most out of a game's systems.

Learning is fun though there is a place for more casually designed games too.

It's just more rewarding to learn and apply that learning in my experience.

Are fighting game players EVER going to stop their stupid culture of "worshipping 3rd strike and guilty gear despite literally never playing either"?

they are too old legacy game so someone that has 20+ years of experience will always beat you and you will never catch onto their level so why even bother

There are newer fighters, user

Those people aren't fighting game players, they're casual fans that follow whatever opinion of the week their favorite FGC players are saying.

I've been enjoying learning tekken as a side game lately but holy shit does it demand a lot of memorization to even be competent especially without any sort of background in 3D.
If you're gonna go to locals anyway why not just learn a proper fighting game? Having to deal with the autism of smash soys is not a positive. Hell, why do you guys think it's granted that everyone automatically likes smash? The game is mad boring.

Attached: ec4a2c6743e5d69e8305fdafb7588ac5.jpg (1500x2236, 1.19M)

such as? dont they all pretty much just burrow moves motions and fundamentals from each other anyway too

Actually if you have the time and the youth it doesn't matter when you start but how much time you put into it.

System mechanics can play a large role in whether you win or lose user.

Locals for other fighting games are MUCH MUCH more spread out, and you also have a MUCH higer chance of finding people equal to you in skill in smash, where traditional fighting games there will be such a divide it won't be fun for either party

Ah yes

>been playing for x years
>still dont know how to be good

Shut the fuck up niggers, you dont play enough. Even a monkey or a kid with downs can learn shit, they just have to actually put in the time.

I've been playing fighting games since 2004, with a keyboard

Like...?

>tfw no locals for anything anywhere in my country
Being Irish is suffering

>why bother if I cant beat someone who has accumulated more skill than me
Fragile fucking excuses of men like you are why corporations are dumbing games down so every paying customer can win.

I have trouble doing Shoryuken input when the character is facing left.

no friends + no locals + shit internet

Attached: 1535944408220.png (40x38, 888)

stubbornness, short temper, not caring about frame data
I could list more

Start a scene.

I've got no one to play with locally and online is full of tryhards

why is kolin's ass so big?

Attached: 1556330647931.png (402x729, 728K)

No local scene. Is there anyone from hueland here who wants to play?

RIP

Honestly, there are so many reasons stopping someone getting into fighting games

OP should be posting reasons SHOULD be getting into fighting games, advertise a bit, the hot FG girls can only do so much

To make up for her sub-par face

or maybe I just play games that I am good at hmm? I am nearly 30 so theres no point in spending 10 years to learn a video game genre. That time can be spent better.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 53K)

I find full lobbies in japan, and always get people to play when I create a room. But yeah, Iobbies are almost always empty in the west, you have to resort to playing in a room.

Is that from a game?

Just not in the mood.
Only have a keyboard for input these days and not sure how that would work out.
Would probably play Melty Blood or something if I had the money to burn on a fight stick or at least a gamepad.

You don't sound very good at games in general if it would take you 10 years to learn fighting games.

It's not that challenging of a genre once it clicks. I'd say spending about a year will get you all the time you need in order to play on common ground with higher level players.

God I wish Chun Li was real.

How the fuck do I get people into fighting games. Only a couple of friends are playing one or more. Mainly tekken and unist.

kolin is for ________

Attached: 1552870840882.jpg (1965x2976, 3.88M)

Forgot to mention that I'm also 30 and yet only got heavily invested into the genre last year so there really is no excuse for you to not be able to do the same.

Haha what if her finishing movr was sittingo n yuor face

Attached: kikochub_li__by_velvetexplosion_dcufjjr-fullview.jpg (1024x989, 94K)

Well everyone I know or follow in Tekken have pretty much 20 year old history with the franchise and very much exclusively play fightning games while sucking cock at everything else so it is only fair for me to assume that it would take such effort to be good at.

Ignoring

I'll explain to you all while fighting games are looked down upon, or the FG communities wonder why people don't want to join: posts like these

They think you SHOULD be playing a fighting game, as if you are obligated to play them, and not playing them is an excuse, it's a logical fallacy

It's literally the opposite, people don't need any "Excuse" to not play a fighting game, fighting games themselves should be appealing to play, we're talking about video games here

If you need to CONVINCE yourself to PLAY something, chances are it's not very good

Attached: 1497371189027.jpg (317x494, 50K)

too depressed to focus

this

It's not fun. I don't have fun stopping my enemies from having fun.

I have too much self respect

Get a new thumb

It's not like fighting game locals are incredibly rare, though.
>and you also have a MUCH higer chance of finding people equal to you in skill in smash, where traditional fighting games there will be such a divide it won't be fun for either party
This is a pretty dumb and baseless generalization. Even if veterans there have legacy skill, it's not like catching up is impossible, and there's usually at least a few newish players to learn alongside. And again, smash really doesn't substitute what a traditional fighting game can give you. If you like it that's fine, but it's really not the same.
Dudes certainly play Melty on keyboard, it even makes certain characters easier to play compared to pad or even stick. I remember a video on Twitter from some Melty tournament where two keyboard players had to play in bracket so they had to rig up two laptops to Ethernet and netplay next to each other, wish I could find it.

>It's literally the opposite, people don't need any "Excuse"
Apart from you are making excuses, people play them cause they enjoy them and don't need to make excuses. You on the other hand feel it is an attack that you are so bad at them and have failed to get good. Thus you look for excuses to avoid it and brush off the genre.

Your presumption is the wrong way to approach trying new things. Those people were where you are at now at one point in time.

Most people aren't prodigies and time and effort can make all the difference. If you put in the time and effort I guarantee that you'll be able to take games off of your friends. All you have to do is play and ask questions in regards to what you can do to improve where you are at in your current progress towards getting better.

After getting experience and help from your friends eventually you'll be able to react more to what they're doing or even read their next moves and get in free hits and it'll eventually lead you to success against those who've been playing for many years.

Tl;dr make the effort to learn be your primary motivation and you can beat your friends for sure eventually.

I just play for fun against friends, no interest in tourneys or anything like that. I could really buckle down and be that good if I devoted the time to it, but it just doesn't interest me that much like other genres do.

This actually sums it up pretty nicely despite reddit spacing

>do a combo too slowly and it doesn't work
>decide to practice the combo controls
>now do it too fast that the buttons or analog stick dont register
I love skullgirls but man fuck that system, especially with the analog stick part(or anything that requires movement)

Attached: _.png (721x600, 668K)

>if I can't pick it up and play it it must be a bad game by default
I guess you completely cut out alot of genres calling their fans bad too such as strategy games, simulations and other games that require more effort to understand.

This is a cartoon and therefore not a sentient being. It is unable to give consent to sexual or otherwise romantic relations. Furthermore, it is unable to feel such emotions associated sexual acts, romanticism, and friendship. It's a lie; a character drawn with deceit. I'll explain:

Now, while the character has been drawn in an art style that can be described as "cute," we must remember that it was purposely drawn in such a way to evoke specific emotions from the onlooker, such as longing, warmth, sexual feelings, and a desire for companionship... at least on the surface.

The reality of this character, however, is much darker as one dives deeper into analysis. What this character really does is remind you of things. It reminds you of your desire for companionship. Your desire for a loving girlfriend. Your desire for physical contact. Your desire just to be touched in a way that makes you feel wanted. It reminds you that you have none of these things, and are left wanting. This drawing is preying on your fear.

Your fear of missing out and never obtaining a partner is one of the most powerful emotions one can experience: fear of being alone, forever. This character appears cute and harmless on the surface, but in reality, it represents your greatest fear, loneliness. It is a wolf in sheep's clothing, distributed among the population entrapping every onlooker who gazes for too long.

We must reject the anime menace, conquer our fears, and stay on the Straight and Narrow Path towards the light. Give careful thoughts to the paths of your feet, and be steadfast in all your ways. Look neither to the right nor the left, and keep your mind from evil.

tl;dr anime is cucking you

Those are called paragraphs.

Im probably the best person on Yea Forums which isnt saying much

In my experience with people dropping fighting games, it's not about the games not being good, but about themselves not willing to accept they are bad at certain game or fearing they will be mediocre compared to others. Most people just play casually and are not used or willing to lose over and over again in order to get better. The thing in these games is that you need to practice vs humans to actually get good. I don't believe that you SHOULD play a game you don't like, and not many people do. I hope you realize you posted a fallacy too.

Ignore her and see what she does next.

I already did and got pretty good, showed out a time or two in meets, then I learned the culture post-esports craze is nothing but a big high school clique of comparable maturity. Back when shit like SF2 was making a comeback and people played for the love of the game, shit was cash, but since SF4 blew up it's nothing but a bunch of grab-assing and frat-tier gatekeeping.

One sentence isn't a paragraph, idiot.

To those of you that actually do play fighting games, who do you play? How do you guys determine who your wanna main? has there ever been a fighting game you wanted to or tried to get into, but couldn't for one reason or another?

Attached: Mains Template.png (2310x4818, 721K)

d-pad does the same shit for me, same with using a keyboard

Gatekeeping? There are more people joining up to play than ever before though.

Also, what gatekeeping are you talking about?

This seems like a poor argument

Even the most casual of all games, fortnite, you lose 90% of the time

The new casual flavor of the month, auto chess, you get 1st place only 15% of the time

Nice, thanks

And yet those games don't seem to constantly be struggling with people quitting

>want to play fighting games again
>remember there are ugly as fuck, lp thieving kikes lagging out games with fraud characters
Hard pass. Post more Chun

The kind of gatekeeping where people can't acknowledge ideas outside their hivemind without interjecting with some dumbass question because they can't read

I'm phonelurking and my perspective is the only one that matters.

get gud

t. lowtiergod

TFH

this thread was a lot better when it was just posting chun-li's body instead of discussing how fighting games are actually shit, we already know that

>A network error has occurred
That's why.

>an average of 1000 players at any moment
How do you even figure that??? SFV is cross platform, Tekken 7 peaks at 4k players.

My smol peepee could never make it past a female fighters muscular ass so why bother

Lost too many times and decided to play other things

I've never seen this before. Then again I don't frequent discord or twitter for my fighting game experience.

I know exactly what I need to do but it is just gonna take too long for me to care. Just being able recognize what move the enemy is doing and then figuring out how many frames it leaves him on and me on is a nightmare when theres what 100+ moves on 30+ characters and I've only played a few by myself. And I'm so fucking fed up with """mindgames"""" and 50:50s that theyre just laughable to me. Sometimes I just 50:50d my opponents and then they would send me hatemail but I mean well fuck thats just how this shit game works. We throw unseeables and try to guess if it is low or high.

I'm starting to feel bad for the guy who keeps replying to the OP with the same "wah I can't play fighters cause" posts. Do you think he knows we can see when a post isn't a new IP?

>How do you guys determine who your wanna main?
I look for a balance between a solid poking and zoning game, but also a bit to spice it up on the side. Hard to find characters that do both so I generally go for a sub that I can piss about with.

I do know fighting games. Or a fighting game more specifically.

I pick who looks cool and see if their playstyle fits

The only quitters are people who dont want to put in the time and only buy and play online mode, get bodied for 20 minutes and put the game back on the shelf. Do those other genres also experience growth in competitive playerbase?

Design is what I first look into but ultimately it comes down to gameplay and, in most but not all, tiers. I play a handful of mid and low tiers but I try to avoid bottom tiers and characters seen as just hopeless.

could you get past the cheeks?

Attached: 1533723614502.jpg (1280x720, 129K)

I dont think memorizing frame by frame for every move is the best way to approach it. I'd suggest only looking up frames of moves that you struggle to block so that you're not burning all of your time just getting burned out on all the minor details.

It really probably only a couple hours a day a couple days a week to get to where your friends are.

I'm not a dicklet so yes

Put a bag over her head then I'm good.

>Buttholemagick
What is it with these artists whose art looks like crayon but still looks solid?

Laziness. Also, the genre doesn't seem all that interesting to me.

Attached: DrJbaOVUUAAoGhR.jpg (708x1003, 74K)

>How do you guys determine who your wanna main?
dunno, i have a bunch of arbitrary conditions, but in the end i play a character that is fun to me. i think how their moveset LOOKS plays a big part in my decision. because that's usually what makes me wanna play them.

that being said, so far i haven't played grapplers and i also don't tend to play highly technical characters.

I used to spend 10 hours on practice mode and then I'd forget all about it. My reactions were horrible too, I never managed to block a snake edge.

I hate fighting games and myself as a result.

whats wrong with her face?

because these days it's street fighter, tekken or nothing
all the other games die one year after their release

Why is Smash there? It's not a fighting game.

nothing

Attached: KLN_07.png (545x480, 73K)

You can keep spouting bullshit all you want but its not going to make it true.

Online fourms have allowed old games to maintain dedicated communities. Games like KoF98 and Third Strike still has a ton of people learning and playing them.

I hate the feeling of helplessness that happens when you get caught in an extended combo from a single mistake, it's something that happens at every level of play in almost every modern fighting game and reduces fighting games to rock/paper/scissors exchanges where the real skill is in knowing movesets and reading intent.
I don't find that to be a particularly fun system of higher play, so i don't put in great effort to learn it.

>What's stopping you from learning fighting games, user?
Being a brainlet. Also the girls always being too sexy and having to jerk off after a bit.

I didn't make it, so I wouldn't know. I don't feel like replacing it with anything though. if you want, you can edit it and replace it with whatever you want.

Try games with short combos. Hell, Samsho just came out and most combos are like four hits only.

Nothing, I'm going to my local weekly meet up in about an hour

yeah, just play with the 20 hyperautists left who still play 3rd strike and have thousands of hours on it, it'll be fun

This or pick games with defensive options like bursts or comeback mechanics like X factor.

nlbc?

>because these days
But it is actually easier to get matches in any games these days. Anime games are bigger than they have ever been, and in general every fighter is more active online for longer.

>anyone who put even an hour more of time than me to learn the game is a hyper autistic

You just come off as an introvert who is unwilling to lose until he gets better at understanding the game. Not even that guy.

Show some respect to the people that put in the time to get better.

Most people on fightcade are newfags who saw the daigo parry and want to learn the game, keep trying.

Being a tech/combo/lab monster has its place, although you should still play the game against people here and there. I find trying out new combos/tech/characters to be a relaxing catharsis at times, and I'm glad more action games have included training modes lately. In an action game labbing out useless flashy combos isn't a complete waste.

>telling people to give up on anime

>implying I haven't already accepted the fact that I will be alone until I die
lol

Attached: 397.png (350x347, 94K)

This is a good point and what has me struggling to commit as a new player. It took me a while to decide to stick with SFV but even now people shit talk it and can't seem to wait for the next one.

I'd love to be ready to go with the next hot thing right from the start but it's tough to know what that will be. Things like cross play and good netcode could do wonders to making some less popular games more playable in spread out regions like the US but unfortunately the Japs could not give less of a shit about accommodating us and everything on the horizon has delayed PC ports as the norm.

>has there ever been a fighting game you wanted to or tried to get into, but couldn't for one reason or another?
UNIST
If I have to use Discord to play a fighting game, then I will immediatly drop it.
Can't play in the Yea Forums threads because it's basically NA only. Don't have any EU friends that play it.
I just play Xrd, which you can find matches for during the after noon.
SFV is stale and I hate 3D "fighting games" so I don't bother with Tekshit

Also I don't think any fighting game character is really that hot.

Attached: IT'S CALLED GUN GAME NOT FUCKING KNIFE GAME.png (850x850, 379K)

But victory on those games rely on many variables, not only on the players' skill, unlike fighting games. In games where luck or randomness comes into play, people unwilling to admit their lack of skill tend to blame factors out of their control for their losses (teammates, RNG, etc). What I said was based on empiric knowledge, but from the posts in this thread I could infer that its hardly off the mark. Also, not liking something because of its "community" is a bit dumb to say the least.

But what if I already know that I will die alone because my awful personality and only interest in lolis?

Attached: 1534801372866.webm (720x1280, 726K)

Just pick a game you know you'll stick to and learn that one.

Who cares what is most popular because then you're only playing because of the popularity and not because you genuinely enjoy the game.

If you wanted to try something different after getting alot out of the game you spent time in it'll be easier to adjust to naturally anyways because fundamentals do carry over and the only things you'll need to master are system mechanics and combos for your new character (of which the latter will be easier due to having done similar combos in a previous fighting game).

Attached: 4pkl68v.png (1024x768, 824K)

I look at the roster and try to find characters that satisfy the top of this list, and if not I move to the next tier. Characters that satisfy multiple are a bonus.
1. Massive fuckers with super armor, big buttons, and command grabs.
2. Regular grapplers
3. Rekka characters
4. Characters that can buff themselves with special moves
5. Zoners that have to juggle a lot of different tools at once
Nemesis, Abigail, Sigma, Maxima, Tager, King, Potemkin, Marvel 3 Hulk, Poison, PTX-40A, Hakan, Iron Fist, Broly, Tizoc, Jiren, these are my favorite characters. The exceptions to all of the above are probably Haohmaru in SamSho/CvS2 & Terry being a common frontman for me in KOF, as well as Arcana Heart where I liked that girl with the guns and roller skates a lot.

You just posted Kolin again

I like Juri and G more

I tried and failed. The only game I ever got decent at were sf 3 and 4. I tried a bunch of arcsys games but I do find them to be mostly bad. 3d fightans are mostly alright but I grew bored of the genre after spending more time trying to find a match than actually playing. Thanks dbfz, that shitty matchmaking update fucking killed it in my region.

Because being able to find a game is probably the second most important thing after enjoyment (if not the first) and why I don't play Melty Blood more than once every other month with the single friend I have who plays it.

I'm not a meta drone

100 hours against AI will teach you about 10 minutes worth against real opponents.

Damn u sound like a virgin.

and 99 hours and 50 minutes of bad habits

Haha what if Chun was a big fat sumo wrestler haha wouldnt that be funny haha

DOA character in in a SF game

>Chun steals the Honda function

Nothing. I played mkx and mk11 and Im now switching over to street fighter and its a whole different world. Inputs and combo linking is harder than dial a combo kombat, but its quite fun so far.

I don't remember DoA characters with gorilla hands and feet

The thing that bothers me as somebody that plays a bunch of fighting games is that it is basically common knowledge that fighting game girls are the best, but there is still basically NO FUCKING GOOD DOUJINS FOR ANY FUCKING GAME. There are good ones, but they are old and come out so infrequently its incredible. Its like you would think there would be more DBZ porn too, but its the same thing

Its the biggest curse of this genre

Attached: qt.png (391x521, 203K)

>but there is still basically NO FUCKING GOOD DOUJINS FOR ANY FUCKING GAME
What? There are loads, a huge back catalogue of doujins. SFV just doesn't get any cause it is shit and casuals never even picked it up

ugly face, and being shilled by one person

Yeah she’d be all embarrassed about being so fat haha

Casuals are the only ones who play capcom garbage though

No there aren't loads, there are quite a bit of pictures but you can count the good ones on a single hand for franchises that have existed for ages. I wasn't talking specifically about SFV I just posted Laura cause shes cute.

Theres the KOF ones by saigado, a few good street fighter ones that get drowned out by the amount of ones where chun has a dick hair armpits and 4 inch nipples, damn near nothing for guilty gear or tekken or most games. The only real exception is the fighting games that are based off other IPs like persona and granblue but fuck man this shit is unfair

Aside from other reasons, not the least of which is just not giving enough of a fuck about fighting games in general, I can't be bothered to spend a thousand hours slamming my head into a learning curve that is effectively a sheer cliff just to participate competently at the most baseline of levels before I have a win rate higher than 0.01% and start having fun.

I'd rather just play some bing bing wahoo.

Attached: comp.jpg (640x480, 55K)

>That spacing
>Wahh wahhhh I'd rather play nintendoshit than actually be good
Fuck off back to r/cucks

The last real blockbuster fighting game doujin was the Rebis SFxT one where Poison, Chun, Asuka, Cammy, & Lili fuck each other in a bathroom until they're all pregnant. It's the only futa-on-futa content I ever favorited until a few months ago when Hidarikiki put out a good one (and I only Favorited that because it's a sequel to an even better doujin; of course the sequel is the only one with a translation).

SF and SNK have some good stuff but the more niche fighters like anime ones typically have very little h doujinshi in comparison.

>thousand hours slamming my head into a learning curve that is effectively a sheer cliff just to participate competently at the most baseline of levels
Why do they always feel the need to over exaggerate how long it takes to get better than the average fighting game shitter?
Just say you don't like fighting games, christ.

>Tfw played fighting games for literally 8 trillion years

What a shit genre

>No there aren't loads
Going to sad panda and street fighter gives you 100 pages. Even KoF is in the 70s, which is actually around the same as Granblue. Persona is only around the 50s.

So you are just wrong on this one

>more niche
I feel like you've explained the issue here already. It is like finding doujins for a small rpg

All that time playing fighting games could be used to learn an instrument or two. Also, the instrument can help you get laid, fighting game players are pussy juice repellents.

All that time playing video games could be used to learn an instrument or two. Also, the instrument can help you get laid, video game players are pussy juice repellents.

>use one line space
>REDDIT!!!!!
Maybe you should take your own advice.

I learned to play piano and percussion and regularly play fighting games while practicing percussion in band and also having time to workout 3-5 days a week.

Learn to better manage your time you fake chad.

user thats not how it works. That includes everything just tagged street fighter like picture galleries and shit. Then even when you search only by doujins it still has all the repeats for other languages and shit. And then after all that they still suck cause they are a majority old and or just trash.

>Uses a tell that marks you from reddit
>Complains about fighting games, which literally plebbit incarnate
Fuck off

Any more pussy than the amount of pussy you want is a waste. If I'm getting pussy every second and I only want it every other second, it makes sense do a few rounds of Waku Waku 7 to throw on some pussy repellent

Fighting game doujins don't sell
Mobage gacha stuff and seasonal "waifubait" stuff? Oh yeah, those sell

You heard it here folks.

>Can't read
Also redditry

there's nothing more reddit than reading. it's right in the world itself. that's why i just have my people dictate posts to me now instead

Failing is the only way to get better. Sad but true. When you get good enough, you'll start craving matches against someone way better than you. You literally cannot improve unless you're getting your ass kicked and if you do nothing but win, your skill slowly decays.

Fighting games are weird that way.

Man that goalpost sure looks heavy. It isn't hard to find fighting game doujins, or porn of them in general. You even have to claim certain stuff doesn't count cause you don't like it.

Attached: 8bf10a326c5ef667dd5921bd2d39315f.jpg (595x750, 42K)

I said good doujins user, you just said there are a lot of doujins. That's why you suck at fighting games

are fighting games worth learning if you dont have access to online play? my internet is too shit where i live

What do you think people did before the internet?

Me on the left

I imagine if he lives in an area with shit internet he also lives in a hole without an arcade

If there are people who play fighting games near you (whether they're local weeklies or friends who are also interested), or if you're completely fine with just being a lab monster finding tech, mixups, and combos for other people to use, then sure.

I'm about to download and play SFV again for the first time since january. They're announcing something for EVO, so I feel like i should be ready in case its actually something relevant. i'm very prepared for disappoinment, though

I did when they were fun and innovative in the 90/00's.
The genre is creatively bankrupt now.

Translation: I played against the AI in SF 2 for a few days and am too retarded to play new games

this is the best ship the series has for it now that Sakura x Karin has been shot down in pieces

You don;t need an arcade to play against other people these days, user.

a majority of people that grind fighting games online have shit internet so you'll fit right in

I also imagine he lives in a shithole that doesn't play fighting games, so no locals.

oh damn. I know the pic this image is based on. That was like... THE lesbian kiss pic of the early 00s in the internet.

Fucking nostalgia.

is it those russian ""lesbos""?

Actually here it is. A cropped version of it, anyhow.

I don't get the appeal of Chun x Cammy at all. I get the appeal of Sakura x Karin even if I don't like it, because there's a clear dynamic. Granted I don't like Cammy or Karin in general.

Are you gonna watch Evo next weekend, user? There might be some fun shenaigans.

I don't have core values though. I wont feel welcome. That's my problem with fightans in general, not enough lewd.

When they're being teased by women who have big tits & ass, yes. Those two doujins I mentioned only get by on having multiple dicks because Rebis & Hidarikiki are just gods at drawing fuckable characters, and even then my favorite pages in the latter are when the principal shows off her personal favorite security camera clips of futa students getting fucked by buxom faculty.

>chun-li is milf tier without children
>cammy is young and never had parents because shes a clone
>form a relationship of dependence with one another since they fill eachothers needs of wanting a child and wanting a parent.

No games worth playing
They're all dead and/or have major flaws
I've actually played SF4 for 1000h or so but online was awful and it's long dead

You rack disciprine. You're supposed to jack off before and or after fighting. Preferably after, since keeping the testosterone in your balls makes you a react slightly faster and play more aggressively.

Yes, but I know that I end up going crazy with how many streams I watch because I like the obscure poverty shit. I didn't even take off the weekend from work. I'll watch what I can and catch replays of good shit later; I work mornings most of the time and am East Coast so I will likely catch every Final I want to see.

You're missing the point, though, user.
Imagine the sex they would have together. The sweaty, passionate, slow and methodical sex they would have, each taking their time to make sure the other gets the body convulsing climax they deserve.

Galford is more about mix ups and zoning while Charlotte can be more offensive with her great pokes and short jump.

>Still get thrashed when you play against other people unless you make it into your fulltime job

Regardless of that fighting games aren't really fun. I'll just keep coming into these thinly veiled porn threads and save pictures instead.

Hey shitter

>picking a disgusting design like Laura over Makoto ever
>playing Laura at all
Can't wait for her to be cut in SFVI.

I'm actually a very good player apart from the fact that I only pick Chun-Li every single game and can't play anyone else
My online winrate was about 80-90%
The problem was that the process of finding a game in SF4 was very time-consuming and annoying while in a proper online game I just have to click "Find Game" once

>Then quotes online wins

you take that back, shes a cutie pie who did nothing wrong. Shes not even a good character

Because I'm 24 and it is literally impossible to even be in the 75th percentile or better if you haven't been playing since you were 12.

I'll pass, thanks.

Reddit

>Shes not even a good character
At least you got one part right.

Reddit would be encouraging people to get into fighting games past their prime, erroneously claiming that if you just bash your head against the wall hard enough, you'll overcome genetics and decades of experience.

If you're 21+ and still haven't played a fighting game, it's over. I advise oldfags to try shmups or rhythm games, which are just as satisfying and not completely shut off to older brains. You'll actually see results in those genres.

Weak ass nigga, I'm starting at 26 and having a great time.

I don't like being around Black People. The sport was good when it was just Asians and some White guys, now everyone with talent left because niggers arrived and ruined it.

White people were never good at fighting games. I think its genetics

I never stated that, stop projecting. I said people with talent left.

what do you mean projecting? I said it, it had nothing to do with what you said

>What's stopping you from learning fighting games
last fighting game I truly enjoyed was Ultra Street Fighter IV

I'm very, very, very bad at reading people and never know what people are gonna do.
I can get combos down just fine, it's the "mindgame" aspect I can't get down.
I just never know what people are gonna do or when they're gonna do it.
I just can't get into their mindset and am always caught off-guard.

Reminder that Forsen and Dyrus got to Tekken Orange ranks in 2 weeks by mashing, while there are people stuck in green ranks for months or years who tryhard all the way.

Fighting games are all about genetics at the end of the day.

If you don't have the genes you're fucked no matter what.

My computer is a toaster that can't even run anime fighters at 60 fps.

I enjoyed umvc3, usf4, ggxrd before rev 2 (fuck the eddie nerfs and I hate how people just learned how strong raw yrc and yrc airdash is), and even mvci. SFV is boring and its impossible to play a character differently than another person who plays that same character, and the netcode is STILL a broken mess. Tekken's good but I don't want to dump a ton of time into learning it when I know nothing about 3D. Samsho's good but I wish it would come out on PC already, PSN is wack as fuck.

really hope someone shows something decent at evo. Kinda optimistic for granblue, the beta was fun.

Nothing i love playing Unist and Tekken

Attached: 1547210120894.png (535x349, 550K)

Please tell me other fighting games aren't as skull-fuckingly infuriating as Tekken. It's a great game and I have fun when I win but a lot of the time I feel like I want to bite my opponent's balls off and feed them to him, then reduce Bandai Namco's headquarters to rubble using only my fists.
I feel like having aerial recoveries might at least help, maybe airdashers would suit me better.

Takes too long to get any decent and the learning proccess is not very fun.

Nothing, I'm just bad with a shitty internet to boot

Maybe people really like her giant hands and feet, ever thought about that?

Not having any and having only a passing interest in the genre.
Only time I really get to practise is about once a year, after a two-hour drive to another fucking city.

i want chun to smother my face with her comically oversized hands and feet

They shouldn't.

They are not very fun to play tb h
They look cool to watch and the character designs are good but playing them is suffering.

Pretty sure is Ibuki, though it looks like chun is on the middle diving board in the background

I liked Killer Instinct, played it sort of above casual level but now that game is basically dead

why can't she be real?

Attached: 1487712843019.jpg (720x1200, 121K)

I genuinely love the feeling of playing against someone better than me, losing like 20 times in a row but making small corrections along the way until maybe eventually winning one. The constant back and forth and feeling of self improvement is what keeps me going. Plus labbing stuff in anime games is generally pretty fun

Attached: JPEG_20181107_213639.jpg (888x1024, 136K)

Same
I wish ki wasnt dead

I've tried but my Flame has burnt out. I used to be extremely invested in fighting games and hype about fighting games in general. But now I just can't get into them anymore. They aren't as fun, developers are now lowering the skill ceiling and the overall mechanical depth of the fighting games you see today (that's why Dragon Ball FighterZ lost it's growing community after just a single year). I still watch fighting game tournaments and EVO but honestly I think my time with fighting game is up. It's not that I can't get good at them, it's that I'm no longer having fun playing them.

Attached: 1537412467666.jpg (437x431, 18K)

Well yeah. That's what's fun about fighting games, trying to get better and enjoying the road.
Seems a lot of idiots in this thread don't get it.

help?

user let me try to help by telling you about two things: weighted decisions and respect. Its always a guess what the opponent is gonna do so the best thing you can do is influence what they can do. If you knock somebody down and do a meaty attack or put a fireball on them they can only do so much. They can either block which is good for you, press a button and get hit which is good for you, or do an invincible attack which if you are far away is good for you. Its hard to grasp it but honesty your gameplan regardless of what game it is should be to get the opponent to play as little as possible cause you want to do your shit without having to deal with their bullshit.

And respect for players or lack there of is super important too. If you are playing a shitter, they will never block don't even think that they will consider it thats just an example. But when you get to mid level it gets trickier cause the players know that you know how shitty players play and do the opposite. It gets kinda fucky but thats how it works. Then when you look at somebody thats an established great player it gets funny again. Mid level players think "hey this nigga is good as fuck he won't possibly do this dumb shit" while the good player is thinking "this guy is giving me all the respect in the world so fuck him" and they take that inch and go a mile. Can't make you guess better user but its not too hard to think about

>too good for friends and newere players, shitstomp them with fairly quick 3-4 chains, maybe a 5
>too bad to play with the big boys, their constant and consistent 5-7+ chains fuck me over easily unless I GOTCHA them as they are building
>tfw stuck in decency hell eternally since can't practice, either lose to fast to move or win too fast to practice

>What's stopping you from learning fighting games
I've wasted many hours with UMvC3 and since it's death I can't find game for me.

I avoid SF on principle so SFV is out of question.
DBFZ was fun at the beginning but then it became boring because instead of crazy UMvC3-like stunts you have to memorize opponent's string.
Tried to get into Tekken 7 which looked good on YT, didn't like it. But it's closest to "game for me" I have right now.
Both MKX and I2 were meh.
SC6 was a huge mistake.

So as for now I'm going to try Under Night, I hope it will stick longer.

welcome to online user, just cause you decided to stop being a wifi shit head doesn't mean that other people won't still play on wifi like shit heads. Plus jp games have terrible netcode thats just a given

whatever fag

>Plus jp games have terrible netcode thats just a given

Why don't they just take a lesson from something that works? For fucks sake

You don't use your right thumb that often on stick

small country with very good internet so its not as bad but it still isn't the best. Its just how companies work man things that seem like obvious business decisions don't turn out that way

I'm not even that fast of a learner when it comes to games - I probably played with my would-be-roommate for a year or 1 1/2 in Xrd, my first serious game, before I would win any. I just really hate losing and wanna be good enough to not lose

I started to do it seriously at 29 and am now 30 and am half-decent. Quit making excuses.

Reddit

I have a friend I play with regularly so we can improve on each other, it was extremely one sided initially but the last set we played was extremely close. We're both kind of stuck with doing better color decisions and 2nd floor, but we can get to 5-8. 5-7 is still babby tier though, getting >10 is big boy league and then it's not only building up a huge chain, but also dealing with and sending harassment which is just as important.

Which fighting games should I pretend im into for Evo?

A total lack of enjoyment from them. Literally the only traditional fighting game I like is Soul Calibur 2.

Threads like this one.

Of course if you were able to do that it means you somehow enjoy the game / the fight.
Seems like s*yboys just don't have that competitive drive and thus gatekeep themselves from a great genre.

No local scene, everything fighting game related event involves at least a 4 hour round trip and a lot of money spent in gas/train tickets.

Replays are not a core for my improvement, as I have improved a lot without rewatching them; but I still have that mentality where playing better players and losing so much undermines my mood.
I also have no local scene, so playing irl is a no go, and online tilts me to no end.

Whatever, newfag

I only play Melty Blood but do other fighters not have easy combos? Sure Melty has some hard combos but most characters can just do their ground moves into launch into air combo for like 4k damage and that takes no skill at all. Beginners can just focus on learning neutral and basic pressure. I find it hard to believe that games like Street Fighter that are super mainstream don't have similar no skill required combos available

How do I have fun with fighting games anymore? I don't even care about gitting gud anymore, I accepted that I will always be mediocre/shit while my mind will let me down the instant I will try to step beyond that.

Does wifi even make a difference besides making the connection more stable? Stable lag isn't much better than unstable lag

It depends on the character but Street Fighter still has links which can be tough for a new player to learn compared to anime where everything cancels into everything. I still fuck up basic punish combos in SF after over 50 hours.

As the other user said, don't fall for the fight stick meme. I play Melty with a keyboard, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Special inputs are arguably easier on keyboard (except maybe half circle, that takes a bit of practise) and just being able to press buttons to move instead of having to lug a stick around is great. The only disadvantage of a keyboard is that it's less portable, so it's not the best if you want to go to locals, but plenty of people do it anyway. If you want to get into Melty just do it, it's a great game, don't let a dumb reason like lack of a controller stop you

slap her ass

I get so fucking angry at fighting games.
Smash.
Tekken.
Soulcalibur.
Mortal Kombat.

No other competitive genre makes me as salty whenever someone starts teabagging and trash talking.
Especially when their character's kit feels lile bullshit.

I just accept that I'm shit and don't play online
