tab target combat is ideal for raids with 24+ people
seeing a bunch of little DPSes fly around the screen doing air combos or whatever the fuck would be incredibly distracting

We went through a long phase where tab target trinity mmos were absolutely shit on as soulless garbage every time a new one came out, only recently have people started hating the way MMOs were going and started wanting for another normal MMO that doesn't try to do anything new or amazing

Elder Scrolls Online has no sense of progression beyond getting new abilities because of monster/level scaling.

If you like MMOs that aren't WoW, FFXIV, or OSRS then you're just SEETHING about your game being dead.

On one side, tab targetting is a lazy relic of the past but on another you have ridiculous korean-tier action combat with i-frame and all that garbage. At this point in time I'd think turn-based would suit a RPG the best but it'd be the least engaging for very big group play. I don't know where the answer lies but shifting mmo gameplay towards action based button mashing isn't what I want to see.

Very very very few people enjoy modern WoW.

Classic WoW has more to it than the hamsterwheel, the community and the memes make it worthwhile.

actually, turn based MMOs have proven to work quite well, just look at dofus/wakfu, they're great games, management and handling aside.
