How does your build? Did you start the game for the first time and rage quit at Depot A?

I can't decide what character to make for Expedition. I'm leaning towards either a shotgunner or full psionic with temporal manipulation.
I made a shit sniper build and still got through depot A in few hours on hard. People who complain about difficulty of combat don't know how to think outside the box. I could see the same sheepish thought pattern in Divinity Original Sin 1 whiners, that game has like 5x more tactical depth in terms of terrain etc.
>people who couldn't beat Dallas at the first meeting
Yea Forums is all complete casuals these days
Psi builds are the literal lords of space and time after this DLC.
Is pure psi still the best build for expedition? I don't want to gimp myself again.
I really feel like Styg should increase the amount of skill points per level up at least by 5 to compensate for the new psi school and dip possibilities for melee/ranged builds.
What the fuck that's crazy weapon. Is it drop from the Swedes or quest thing? Use spoiler tags please if you answer.
n-n-no y-y-you didn't y-y-you t-t-tranny! NO ONE G-G-GETS T-T-THROUGH D-Duh-D-DDEPOT A!
With temporal distortion being as good as it is but being unable to crit i feel like Tranquility completely takes over Psychosis now.
drop from swedes
just finished depot A, don't know what to do
played a year or so ago on hard, got to upper metro and quit to wait for expedition. had a stealth/crossbow/traps/throwing/blob pistol guy who was very effective. playing dominating now with energy/blob pistol big brain scientist. not real different desu. dunno if i should make a plasma or blob pistol before going in to depot a. kinda miss the other guy i tried before, bladed metal armour/bladed fist weapon/throwing/vile weaponry/hypertoxicity/taste for blood tankman. really don't want to start over yet again though. took ten tries to settle on this.
>level cap increased to 30
>5 more levels
>200 fucking more skill points, enough to max one new skill entirely with some to spare or get 2 very high, maybe even afford 3
>he still wants more
stop
Do you know any good tranquility builds? I fell for the psychosis meme
I had the most fun going full PSI build with a secondary being throwing and crafting nades.
Just finished Expedition, AMA.
Just so happens I can confirm whether you are telling the truth or not.
How many people are in the final dungeon?
Are there other weapons you can build around like your pic?
>6 STR
fuck you too styg
also, start updating the wiki you lazy slav
9 CON Last Stand invincible wizard chads.
You can skip the Methatermics school completely since the only thing of value you will miss is Thermodynamic Destabilization, cold/fire based psi are way better on psychosis.
Should I count all of his personalities?
>he thinks Styg or any of the devs do anything on the wiki
hahaha
You don't need to match STR requirement to wield it. Not like you will poke with it.
I don't think you can build around this EDGE thingy because it's only obtainable after you finish DLC
My man. Now, the real question.
Did you destroy it, or run away like a pussy?
This is a bloody shame.
You need to be able to re-start the game with it being accessible early.
I was thinking of doing it that way. Will you really get by without the nukes? I could drop Meta completely and go back into TC
I didn't know how to destroy it, so I ran. How do I destroy it, actually?
oh neat, are the those new neuroscopic filters what you need to craft one of those ?, or what the hell do you use those for
Do you need 6 agi for sprint?
All I'm gonna say is that, just by looking at your inventory, I know that you probably couldn't. Also, if you could destroy it, you would most likely know how to.
That's what you get for rushing!
It's a drop from SPURDERS SPARDERS :DDDDDD. Guaranteed from oyetspaetters (elite savage psykers). [/spoilers]
then what the hell are the filters for?
How do you get past the scanner that wants you to put items in a box but you need that microchip? Tried talking to doctors, technicians etc. My brain is blank on this one.
Been to the lemurian health center yet?
Hmm. I did not explore a few areas, namely spooky graveyard on the north and quarry on the far east. Is the tool there somewhere? I know it's a mystical spinny cylinder which can cut everything, but that's all. Or is it linked with Monolith piece near the Black Sea entrance?
You really don't need 10 INT. 8 will suffice.
CON is better at 9 for Last Stand.
4 AGI is not needed since you don't even have any AGI-related stats. A point in DEX is way more valuable for avoiding the lockpick penalty.
Thought Control is really valuable since chances of applying its effects directly scale with with your effective skill. Your strongest nukes come from psychokinetics and Temporal Manipulation, you still gain really good aoe options thanks to the locus of control. Thanks to the new DLC staff you can even use Neural Overload effectively too.
If anything, you should substitute Methatermics with grenades. Molotovs and their advanced versions are fucking god tier, they ignite enemies and the ground which makes them better than fireballs that need a special perk even for the ignition effect.
any new stuff in the expac for an smg/traps/throwing build?
For your psy bands crafting, as usual. Can give you 30-35% more damage on a chosen skill.
His species is so autistic it can't understand a simple language or prevent itself from going extinct but can invent retardedly advanced technology. Tanner is so dangerous and a criminal because he's the first not to be a dangerous autist.
Graveyard. But just knowing the location is not quite enough, no. You need info. One word: Shard. Good luck.
Ah, what the hell, second clue. Cheers!
I wanted to do that last because I need a new way to join pirates since I negotiated the proff out, the old joining npc isn't there anymore
Don't tell me I have to search these faggots' corpses for the specific thingy that Ferryman threw at one of them. REEEEE.
Fuck Silent Isle
Depot A is not the real filter, that Giant Bettle, Doppelganger infested isle is
Limited Temporal Increment reduces all cooldowns by 1 turn, including items.
With grenadier it means your damage grenades will have a one turn cooldown and you can use two gas grenades in the same turn.
Dude, just hang around the mindshrooms.
>Attack a random rathound
>All 4 giant bettles aggroes and gang bang you
Well, that's your next stop before JSHQ.
Hey, you know Ferryman's tale. Good, you're actually pretty close then.
You already know the body part, you just need the body. Now go through his tale in great, great detail. Hang around their villages, see if you recognize anything.
Go the other way then, holy shit.
>Spooksman start spawning while you're running for dear life
It's okay, I managed to beat that quest yesterday, but I genuinally believe Silent Isle is more harsher than Depot A
I mean, I visited graveyard, but these ghosts spooked me greatly. I know where Ferryman hit this warrior, so I just have to check each corpse in this exact place, right/wrong? There isn't a way to repeat the tale, so it must be the important part.
Thermodynamicity or Cyrogenic Induction?
Depends on how you approach, for both really.
Doesn't it give you shit ton of money considering the level of character? Risk and reward etc.
You could just go around searching each corpse, yes. Or, if you have a save from before talking to Ferryman, you could listen again, pay attention because there's another important part, then walk around the villages until you recognize its importance. Whichever works for you.
getting flexed on by death stalkers at the moment
Not really, it gives you some money and 2 exp
The most rewarding mission in all 'tutorial' part of the game are assaulting any gang's base, the Scrapper base in my opinion, you got the help of your gang friends and got high chances to get exp and shitloads of loot, while cleaning Depot A also yields many goodies, is way more riskier because you're alone vs fucking super mutants
Tele proxy and electric imprint too
How do you think this would work? TM for fast and stasis (this could be dropped, probably), tin can with two handed spear. I figure the spear block + armor should be pretty tanky; at least moreso than riot gear and shield.
We don't take throw because I can't really fit it in and we're slow anyways
Don't forget locus of control.
>take out the gang
>hide all their shit in the dumpster near the shop
>come once in a while to sell the shit to the shop
Fun times

The rune near each corpse. Is that a thing that can determine the one I need?
>When you save yourself a big coin crafting yourself supplies and weapons
Love spamming psi boosters and molotovs
Go around those villages already, keep your eyes open.
>crafting psi boosters
You are going to regret that
How come?
i put down a trap and he finally walked into it this time then loaded him up with war2craft rounds
The psi catalyst can be used in much much better drugs later on.
I'm literally still on the tutorial part of the game and I'm a psiker, I won't be able to access these drugs yet (nor have a real intention to do so)
you know mindshrooms respawn right
There's plenty to go around, though. It's not like mindshrooms are scarce.
i've made an energy pistol guy
with CON 3, no evasion or dodge
how fucked am i? can it be solved with the right armor or feats
Rely on energy shields and not playing like a retard
You cannot afford to make mistakes
not very
the beginning of the game is shit but towards the end you end most fights in one turn assuming you dumped CON for DEX/PER/INT

village left of boneyard (near temple): lots of dead savages, some weird head-like sculptures with downward triangle and exclamation mark-like symbols besides usual Faggotsnake symbols. village right of boneyard: no such symbols. Considering ferryman spoke about getting near their temple or something I think it should be linked somehow.
>70 persuasion
yeah i'm gonna put that in crafting
Is Psychostatic Electricity worth the feat?
Keep looking, you can do it.
thats my base stats
im planning to put everything else in dex
and take just about every critical hit/energy weapon feat that presents itself
should be ok for normal difficulty i guess?
i like it for psychosis because it makes the IRIS fight hilariously easy but if you're playing tranq and your base crit chance/bonus sucks not at all
Most of builds are okay in normal difficulty, however as a Metal Armorfag, seeing 3 agility and not picking Sprint feat early hurts my soul
But if you rely on shields and stay lightweight and mobile it shouldnt be an issue
Riot armor is shit even after all the buffs, play a chad javelin thrower with Limited Temporal Increment to Spear Throw twice in a single turn.
You still get block from Fend+Spear Guardian.
why the STR
i mean i guess steadfast aim but why 6
Personally, no. Corporeal projection and Force user is way more worthwhile, while electric psychokinesis are more of an utility than anything
t. huge psychokinesis chad
>want to be buff
>no juggernaut
Bitch.
>Riot armor is shit even after all the buffs
What's wrong with it?
coz im a filthy hoarder
>Corporeal projection
get out
No, why would you.
You're the making everything run away from you, not the othe way around. Your job is to stay on one spot and deplot the psi wall and poisoned caltrops to meme on anything trying to get near.
That's the beauty of CON wizard chad.
No, fuck off, I got to wear this Metal Armor and hammer
i cleared dominating pretty easily with this (although it was pre-expedition so perception was 10)
imo drop 1 point from STR, take steadfast aim to justify the 5, put one in perception, max out DEX to get to 16 to fire plasma pistol twice, and take increased perception as your first veteran feat so you can get sharpshooter + scrutinous
There's nothing it does better than other armor.
Tactical vests are better against bullets while being lighter.
Metal armor is better protection against everything.
Leather is obviously better for light armor evasion+stealth.
It's way too heavy for avoidance based play and doesn't give nearly enough protection to be used for face tanking. Metal armor with Armor Sloping isn't even that much heavier.
Spear with fend + spear guardian is a much better source of block simply because it has 100% block chance with specialization. Riot shield maxes at what, 55% block chance?
I have absolutely no idea why the Riot Shield doesn't work for ranged attacks, it's dumb to make it melee only.
>Still no faggot who posts their supremely gamebreaking psi build
>Still nobody posting Terminator-Shotgun builds
>Still nobody posting dodgemaster supreme katana edgelord builds
Thanks Yea Forums. Really are a reliable lot.
t. Death Stalker food
>mfw all these psi cucks in these threads
Nice the expansion just came literally 2 days ago, give it time
I just don't get it, REEEEE. At least musical cipher had clear rules and was reasonable. This, on the other hand...
Nothing. If you want strong protection against melee and decent protection against small guns, without a huge armor penalty, it's fine. If you make a heavier one with a good shield, I'd say it outdoes all but the strongest metal armors against melee, while still having only like a 60% penalty.
But don't go into a serious gunfight with one, and definitely wear something lighter against psifags.
Psychokinesis is the only non-cuck psi discipline tho
>expecting supreme gamebreaking builds when almost no one here knows anything about what's in expedition
shiggy diggy
>using stealth
>using the Oddity system
>avoiding combat
How does being a complete pussy feel like?
All you had to do was ask, faglord.
how would you approach dodgemaster supreme katana edgelord build
i read somewhere katana requires int 7
Is there such thing as a hybrid psi build? I want to play something that uses guns but I fucking hate the idea of missing will checks/lore, my autism won’t allow it.
>not just throwing molotovs and running away
get on my level
>Is there such thing as a hybrid psi build?
Yes.
t. Metal armor psychokinetic sledgehammer
Here, this should cakewalk through dominating stop crying
Anyone here ever try kidnapping the roastie for the rathound king?
You have to go full psi to not miss anything. You can take guns with it, but it will still be a slightly gimped full psi that totes a gun for pretty much no reason.
>thread is [REDACTED] like an old biocorp profile
SHOW YOURSELF ANTON
I KNOW YOU'RE HERE
Huh?
>Psi against Robots
What do? Psi seems worthless in this area.
yeah
it's kind of underwhelming
i ended up just killing rathound king anyway after to get the quest XP from hathor
and then i tried lockpicking her cage to let her out and the dumb bitch aggroes even though shes literally in a cage and cant attack me
*Bilocation*
should i just kill him then
Nigga Styg just added an entire psi school that rapes robots right up the pipes
Psychokinesis
Tele punch to wreck them
Zap zap to stun them and damage them if more than 2
i mean like i said you can do both and get double XP
So, uh,
Without spoiler
Is best boy still best boy?
I don't get it.
int 6
here's the build I'm playing from the beta, but I dont suggest going with strength
check this one out for better feats
Can you make a psyker that also melees?
After a long, dramatic race full of twists and turns Dude emerged the victor.
He's just joking around.
mental breakdown + bilocation
Doors, forcefield, Emp mkIII grenades + grenadier, psychokinesis spam, the new temporal manipulation skill that does energy damage
But what did he mean by
>thread is [REDACTED] like an old biocorp profile
I am slow.
Is oddity the way to play? It feels kinda bad slaying all this shit in these caves and getting an ear or whatever every 10 fights
Yeah oddity is the way to go
In encourages exploring rather than mindless grinding
Here's your overpowered psi build bro.
If you want, go with intimidation instead of persuasion and get the Yell. In that case bump the stat as high as you can.
Shit, zoner, you only got 3 INT
SPOILERS
GET IT?
Oh.
No, don't listen to Oddityfags. They just love pixel hunting and dumpster diving like the room-temp-IQ morons they are.
>There's nothing it does better than other armor.
It is the best anti-melee armor at its armor penalty level, with the exception of infused pig leather with dense padding, but that comes later.
>Tactical vests are better against bullets while being lighter.
Tactical vest and its bullet protection is undermined by the existance of energy shields most of them time. Riot Gear on the other hand offer a bit of bullet DR that is not the main selling point, but a nice bonus if a bit of damage slips through the shield.
>Metal armor is better protection against everything.
It's also heavy as fuck when reinforced (which you need for superior protection) with an 8 STR requirement. Even with Armor Sloping.
>Leather is obviously better for light armor evasion+stealth.
Evasion/dodge is not mandatory or even necesarilly a good idea for low aromr penalty armors. There's middle ground between 0 penalty Nimble Siphoner Leather builds and 95 penalty triple reinforced tungsten with helmet and boots. A shieldless sturdy riot gear is only 20 penalty, which doesn't gimp stealth or movement points too much while having pretty good protection and HP bonus.
>It's way too heavy for avoidance based play
It's only 36/30 with a super steel shield.
> Metal armor with Armor Sloping isn't even that much heavier
Metal armor without reinforcments is not gonna be as good in melee.
>Spear with fend + spear guardian is a much better source of block simply because it has 100% block chance with specialization. Riot shield maxes at what, 55% block chance?
This is a somewhat valid complaint, the 55% chance can fuck you over, but the armor still has pretty god melee DR for less penalty on top of it.
>I have absolutely no idea why the Riot Shield doesn't work for ranged attacks, it's dumb to make it melee only.
This is also somewhat vaild, shield riot gear offers absolutely nothing vs. ranged attacks, unlike heavier tac vest plates vs. melee.
You still have to grind for charons and some oddities require outright genocide if you are unlucky with drops.
there's no reason not to pick oddity considering how easy is to put locking or hacking in any build
Do you really want me to point you to it
FUG, I GOT IT, but only after I found it. He was a big guy, unlike the other corpses .
I like tje combat more than exploring, so i go with classic.
I tried oddity but going trough every barrel hoping for a scrapture or whatever aint fun for me.
>you need lockpicking and hacking for oddities
When will this meme die, there's barely any oddities that you can't find without them.
SOMEBODY TELL ME IF THE MUSHROOMS IN THE MUSHROOM ROOM AT SGS GROW BACK, I ''''NEED'''''' TO KNOW
IM TALKING SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE ROOM NEXT TO THE GUY WHO IS DOING AN AUTOPSY ON THE BURROWER
I thought all mushroom grew back
>IM TALKING SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE ROOM NEXT TO THE GUY WHO IS DOING AN AUTOPSY ON THE BURROWER
Quinton.
If I tell you, will you burst in, steal all the mushrooms and kill the whole SGS in the process?
You literally cripple yourself by not having one of those skills and while I do not statistical evidence of the amount of oddities behind these locks, they are still nice to have for exploration purposes, with oddity xp being a bonus
That's not it, fool.
You're on your own now. The only thing left to say is that the Shard is not quite enough and that I already gave you a clue on what to do next in here. Good luck.
What if he says no?
What are some value points
From my last year playthrough I remember needing 115 mechanics which I didn't out any points at. Act 5 if remember correctly
I won't because I already pickpocketed the keycard and made my way in and picked all of the delicious mushrooms dry.
I'm just being autistic because I had a choice to pickpocket him now, but leave the PITIFUL 40 SGS money he had on him or just wait until later so I can get both. I'm a tight fuck, I want it all, but if they grow back then it's easily the better choice to pick them now.
Almost all oddities in locked containers are shit you can max in the very same location, and there isn't any you can't max without it by the end. The advantage they give you is minuscule.
I know cave ones do but since these are in a room I think it could go either way. Hopefully they do, having a constant supply of red dream mushrooms + cave ears and to a lesser extent mindshrooms seems so fucking good.
>You literally cripple yourself by not having one of those skills
No you don't. You only miss out on bonus loot, ventilation, some closed doors and checks. Which is all useful, yes, but hardly essential. Try it sometime, it's not that much of a big deal.
>while I do not statistical evidence of the amount of oddities behind these locks
You odn't because there isn't. There are some oddities in closed containers or behind closed doors, yes, but most you can max out even without those containers anyways.
> they are still nice to have for exploration purposes, with oddity xp being a bonus
That's true, but still not essential.
Hell, have that. Know what you missed.
Anyone try shotguns yet? Any good?
About "looking around villages"? Give me a general direction atleast, I'll show it to the Ferryman in the meantime
>tfw Temporal Distortion shits all over bladelings
Oh fuck the hell yes! And it never ends with Continuum Ripple!
Complete murder at close range but has trouble with absurdly high DR/DT enemies like crabs
Going spear for block with heavy armor to be tank man. Is it dumb to not take spear throw? I was only going to invest into throw until 75 (effective 81) for grenades. I'm not sure what I could drop for it since I'm going the Juggernaut Heavyweight Crit Power route.
Expose Weakness is good, perhaps drop Fend, Impale, or Sweep?
>Neglect Persuation
>Cant get SGS to side with Eels
Oh
I gave you a picture, that's enough. The villages are finite, after all.
Shieeet. You were right, I wasn't looking close enough. Why the fuck do these guys even make a cenotaph if they have a corpse with them?
And thats why you always carry a hammer with you, fellow shottyfag
persuasion is useless guy just take more fight stuff!
Do you need the power fist in your active slot to get the bonus to STR?
I actually got the game in 2016, reached depot A totally blind and gave up (was told online my build was shit).
Never played again.
t. casual
writing/atmosphere was superb in the game tho
That dude was pretty important for them.
yeah
>0 melee skill
fuck
>He got filtered
Disappointing, jack
Did you try murdering them?
>tfw that feat which the sixth shotgun shell does 100% extra damage
Hm, do you have psi?
Can you use though control? Neural overloard bypasses all damage resistances
God damn it, WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO UPLOAD THE EXPANSION FILES TO RIN.RU SO I CAN SHOOT MY CREAM ALL OVER IT REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Why should I? I'm trying to get the Scrappers killed
It's not about finding all the oddities brainlet, it's about getting them much earlier.
Sure you will find the oddities eventually but without lockpicking/hacking you will find them later which means that for the majority of the game you will be levels behind a character that actually has hacking/lockpicking.
what level should i be for starting the expac? just finished camp herpaderp
>3 will
I've been using psi only for temporal/psychokinesis utility, I barely made it through them because I had some toxic gas and tungsten shells ready.
I'll try got those plasma grenades asap because almost nothing resists energy right?
>camp herpaderp
kek
That's like saying "Here And Now" is a good feat in Fallout. Come on. It's useful, but not something that makes them mandatory.
Just do it zoner. You want to be hardcore or no?
If someone wants to make a terminator, I've made this portrait a while ago.
Is Hypothermia any good? Con is pretty much the absolute worst stat you could decrease cause all it does is reduce max health for a time. Pyromaniac sounds way more useful. Not quite sure about thermodynamicity either. Cyrogenic Induction sounds like it could be good: my implosion already does over 50% of an enemy's health. What are the best psi feats in general?
small version
add transparency and it will work with the ingame backgrounds
Neat, Is that a new feature?
No, it's been like this ever since backgrounds existed. Which is, like, a long long time.
Spear throw is one of the strongest weapon based attacks in the game, if not outright the strongest one.
You can bring it to 10 AP cost.
At max range it does 450% weapon damage.
One turn cooldown.
It's classified as melee ability, which means all melee feats affect it with the major one being cheap shots.
It can crit.
With the temporal psi power that reduces cooldowns you can use it twice in one turn, 900% weapon damage for 25 AP.
The biggest problem is that you need to pick up the spear and with the heaviest armor possible that's going to be a problem because of your shitty mobility, Sprint helps.
Someone posted a webm a few years back of themselves one-shotting Tchort with a telekinetic punch. I don't know how the fuck they pulled that off, but apparently psi works amazingly with unarmed if you do it right.
rail crossing or core city first?
>can't block bullets
you all best be hit and runners like knife builds.
Are you comparing some skillpoints to a fucking feat/perk? Are you high or clinically retarded.
Correct.
Hi
t. Metal armor, sledgehammer psychokinesis tank
Yeah just don't support the dev who is already selling it for dirt cheap.
Depends on your build, core city sewers have some unarmed/melee uniques which I pick up as soon as I can use the trains.
It's the same concept. Why would you waste skill points so you can have less skill points and maybe a feat marginally earlier (yes, marginally, since few oddities are in locked containers anyways)? Getting oddities slightly faster is probably the worst justification for taking hacking/lockpicking. It's all about loot, alternative routes and some useful hacking checks.
I would also like to know if any of the metathermic feats are worth picking.
>It's the same concept
No it's not you ape, the main reason for leveling is getting feats/perks, spending a feat/perk to gain one level is completely imbecilic because the most important part of leveling is getting useful feats/perks.
It's nothing like spending one maxed skill worth of skillpoints.
>stuck in an unwinnable gauntlet
>no saves before
rip my 30+ hour run
Quite honestly i think that memethermic feats are shit.
Pyromaniac is needed to make something molotovs accomplish by default. Except molotovs don't require almost any investment to make and toss around.
Thermodynamicity may only be useful on some psychosis builds, but they tend to end the encounter on the first cryo orb. Tranquility builds benefit less from memethermics and Implosions is probably the only good skill for them it has.
Hypothermia is garbage. Enemy will die before you stack it enough for it to matter. You need to pretty much exclusively use ice based psi to utilize it well.
Cryogenic Induction does lead to some shatter shenanigans but honestly, if we look at other psi feats it's really not that good either.
As far as psi school feats go, i'd say:
>SSS
Locus of Control
Force User
>S
Continuum Ripple
Future Orientation
Cerebral Trauma
>A
Psycho-temporal Acceleration
Corporeal Projection (needs a VERY specific build though)
>B
Psychostatic Electricity (Psychosis ONLY)
Pyromaniac
Cryogenic Induction
>C
Mental Subversion
Thermodynamicity
Hypothermia
Post build
>No it's not you ape
Yes, it is the same concept. Grab a dictionary or something.
>the main reason for leveling is getting feats/perks
The skills are of huge importance as well. Hell, more skill points means crafting good shit earlier, which is much more beneficial than a few points of XP earlier.
>It's nothing like spending one maxed skill worth of skillpoints.
You're spending 1/8th of your skill points to be maybe 10 or so XP ahead of the curve and call that a good deal? You must simply love pickpocketing, too.
But that's simply not true. There are not that many locked oddities. There just aren't. Is perception also mandatory to you? Is pickpocketing? Is stealth, because you sure as fuck aren't getting all of the oligarchy oddities without it?
lockpicking nerd destroyed
>Except molotovs don't require almost any investment to make and toss around
Eh, they need a solid amount of throwing and are on a long cooldown, also they create fire puddles which you may not want so pyromania is more useful since you can shoot out multiple fire abilities in one trun and leave no hazards for yourself around.
Funny thing is, I rarely go without both either. But that's because I want that phat loot, like using ventilation on low STR builds (fuck using regalia+power fist+adrenaline every time) and hacking is just all around useful shit at various points in the game, ESPECIALLY at Black Sea.
Too lazy to go to the calculator, so here's my initial stats
Ask if needed
Is it worth making the switch for better overall DT?
Stop trying to change the subject when called out on your stupidity.
Do you honestly believe skill points are more valuable than feats/perks?
Do you pick all the skill increasing perks when playing fallout 2?
Picking 'here and now' is nothing like spending skill points on hacking/lockpicking that's the concept we are discussing you ape, that's the discussion we are having.
>Eh, they need a solid amount of throwing and are on a long cooldown
You never need over 50 throwing in this game. Ever. You can accomplish such a number in extremely early game and enjoy grenades for the entirety of the game, and they are flat out better for aoe damage on Tranquility builds with the exception of Implosion.
>fuck using regalia+power fist+adrenaline every time
user. Don't say stupid things, user.
Doesn't future orientation raise AP cost, though? I don't think it's worth the single turn cooldown decrease.
>Doesn't future orientation raise AP cost, though
Yes, by 5 and can be mitigated with specialization. But this doesn't matter because you flat out get to spam the global cooldown reduction ability more.
yeah, you say that until you ragequit because your grenade went awry
I greatly enjoy my 120 throwing consistent pinpoint grenade throwing
Grab that dictionary already and enjoy being 10 XP ahead with no bonus feats whatoever for 1/8th of your skill points. Don't forget to grab pickpocketing on your way out.
It just ain't right.
>Future oreiantation
>S
You what, the AP cost increase is not worth it.
What's fun to play for a first run
>yeah, you say that until you ragequit because your grenade went awry
At 50 throwing there's a very little chance your grenades will go awry on mid range actually.
LIMITED
TEMPORAL
INCREMENT
nigga
What skills did you pick?
Full wizard or melee weapons, or a melee weapons hybrid, on normal difficulty
>It just ain't right.
Dammit son, you are smarter than this. Read what you said again, carefully.
Holy shit, you can decrease the AP cost back down to 0. I'm actually thinking about choosing it over pyromaniac and cyrogenic induction
Conditioning and Sprint
10 Cons, making you tanky, Conditioning gives you more resistance the higher your Con, so you become quite fucking tanky
Sprint is a must have if you gonna use heavy armor, no excuses, no exceptions.
Are you shitposting, pretending to be retarded or something?
Do you not know what 'here and now' in fallout is? I'm officially confused now, are you ignorant or just incredibly stupid?
I have to ask again, do you not realize that this discussion is not about whether lockpicking/hacking is worthwhile in underrail but about you comparing picking 'here and now' to spending skill points on hacking/lockpicking? Please tell you at least understand that.
What build lets me pretend I'm a walking, invulnerable tank wielding an *extremely* deadly shotgun?
I have sprint, hit and run, and 36 movement points. I COULD go all in on armor sloping maybe.
I didn't want do use stealth dodge, or evasion really but will Riot Gear and shield handle that?
Are advanced psi empathy or Mantra good veteran feats? They seem pretty disappointing, honestly. I'd get them if they didn't further gimp your health and gave you way more regen than that.
how do i start expedition???
>About to enter Junkyard on my new character
>Decide to scavange around the area before I go in
>Oh look, it's Cliff
>No dialogue options to make him see reason, he just attacks me.
>Put him out of his misery.
>Check what he's got
Ding ding ding we've got a winner. That will help immensely for my dive into Depot A later.
It is when the whole point is to get Limited Temporal Increment down to 2 turns and spam the everloving shit out [insert fucking anything here]
>be Sniper
>have Shooting Spree
>have LTI with Future Orientation
>turn 1
>Aimed Shot, kills enemy, cooldown down to 2, LTI, cooldown down to 1, throw a fucking nade or something with that 16 AP I have left
>turn 2
>would you look at that, Aimed Shot is ready
>Aimed shot kills enemy, cooldown down to 2
>shoot again, maybe it crits and kills
>turn 3
>Aimed Shot cooldown down to 1
>LTI again
>would you look at that, it's Aimed Shot time, again
>Aimed Shot
Core City Docks, find the guy recruiting.
Advanced psi empathy is godlike and well worth the HP hit. You simply cast even more. At that point you're either 1hko everything with psychosis or spend days in Last Stand so health doesn't really matter.
thanks guy
also theres gotta be a double barrel shotgun right?
What about Mantra?
>Last Stand so health doesn't really matter.
Max HP does matter, tho.
Temporal disortion is a godsent against bots on early game.
>apply 2
>sprint out of sight
>apply another 2
>watch bot get shredded
Anyone find the unique shotguns yet?
There's a unique double barrel shotgun, no idea about the stats.
Psi regen is always good. It gives more psi regen than going from 10 to 18 will. But at that point it's whatever.
Not when you spend 4 turns in Last Stand and get back into it in roughly a turn after deactivation.
I think it is you who doesn't understand. The concept is to sacrifice long term benefits in exchange for faster progression. This applies both to "Here and Now" and to taking lockpicking/hacking solely for faster level progression. The concepts do not need to have the same impact or severity. Yes, skill points are fucking important, especially as much as 1/8th for fuck all in terms of level progression. Get over it.
>people unironically arguing about builds and minmaxing in a single player rpg
>Not when you spend 4 turns in Last Stand and get back into it in roughly a turn after deactivation.
No, max HP still matters. I don't care how long and often you are in Last Stand if you get 1-shot at max HP anyways.
That's not to say advanced psi empathy is bad, but it is a factor. Gotta be more careful, even with last stand.
so i've genocided the pirates and the natives, how much side content have I missed out on?
Pretty much none if you sided with Aegis.
>No, max HP still matters.
There's not a whole lot of things that can crit for 400+ HP throgh your armour, shields and morphine. In fact i can't think of a single example.
here and now was offered as an example of wasteful spending of a limited resource for minimal gain, akin to taking hacking/lockpicking to speed up oddity acquisition when the effect of the later, while not unfelt, is not great. no direct comparison, yet the same concept (despite your insistence otherwise). stop embarassing yourself with your childish inability to argue simple points.
None because the natives are always hostile and you can only join either Aegis or pirates, not both.
Alright, I found it. looks like cheeky Styg randomizes runes each playthrough too. What do I do with it now?
>and morphine
You're being awfully optimistic, assuming you will time morphine just right. Death Stalkers and sniper outside of FoV are a bitch. And let's not pretend you start with level 30 HP. Just sayin'
Eh, it negates Psychosis' psi cost increase at the expense of health. You can already do that with in-game items. Sounds useful if you're going tranquil but not much if you're explosive as fuck psi. Feat is better of being spent somewhere else.
Morphine ends before the specialized Last Stand, nigga. Which is around the same time when you gain access to advanced empathy.
I already gave you that clue, but whatever, let me repeat. Cheers!
Don't think I'm letting you off the hook this easily, brother user. Admit to the dumb shit you have said already and we can pretend this never happened.
If I am going hammers with a spot of TM for CD reduction, is my AoE basically grenades (i.e. don't neglect throwing?)
this game looks neat, is melee viable or is it just suffering? are there companions? hows the writing?
Why didn't styg add any new toys for pistol gunslingers? Why does he hate us so much
This game is not for you, go away
How does this look?
Ah shit, I didn't account for that. This could turn out crazy. Add hemopsychosis to that.
Very viable, HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAAAAA, surprisingly amazing at times, serviceable at worst, great throughout.
I actually still need a confirmation it works with Last Stand. Because if it does, it's a whole fucking turn of free casting which sounds insane.
No. The concept is the same, even if different in scale. Deal with it.
proof this isn't about the truth of the matter but your ego and you trying to save face on an anonymous image board by appealing to camaraderie and offering terms of acquiescence from a position of obvious defeat, you sad sperg. textbook example of 90% of Yea Forums's and the internet's so-called "arguements".
I don't see why it shouldn't. It could possibly make you a bit more vulnerable since you are taking damage after all. That and APs are still a bottleneck in this case. But crazy nonetheless.
AP is honestly not a problem on tranquility setups, especially since now you have a free psi-based adrenaline that stacks with actual adrenaline.
Shit is bonkers. I wonder how many temporal distortions you can spam in a turn with this.
Future Orientation isn't really that useful unless you're relying on abilities with cooldown. Most of the attack psi moves you're going to use have no cooldown. Good for a first build, if this is your first.
You got the wrong guy. Let me repeat. Realize where you dumbed with
>fuck using regalia+power fist+adrenaline every time
and never repeat this mistake again.
I don't know honestly, but I'm curious at this point.
>he thinks Underrail is some zoomer shit retard-proof RPG that anything goes
Has anyone found any purple spear with good stats? Not that piece of shit Psi spear/staff.
Did anyone ever do a full 160 point investment intimidation Yell setup?
It should translate into a fucking 115 skill reduction on all organical enemies in visual range. Is this as good as it sounds?
You may want to look at
Do you rip ventilation shaft doors with your hands, user?
Melee is great, no companions and the writing is fine.
melee is love
melee is life
What, you are nitpicking because I didn't mention carrying a crowbar? I was just listing STR bonuses. YOU are too smart for this, dad.
user, please. I'm begging you. Use your brain.
Alright, I get. Prettu dumb, yeah.
This doesn't tell me anything useful, sadly.
Give me your honest opinions about Mercantile.
What does it do?
I've heard it was buffed to become useful over the years?
Thank you.
The visions, man. Follow the visions.
>resists Protectorate expansion when it can be beneficial to the southern rail
>starts his own little organization and completely forgets the task Tanner assigned him
>relies on you for all his shit and talks shit when you point it out
>turns on you and his former home if you help prop him up and join the Protectorate
Can you name a more annoying retarded asshole in the entire game?
>Gang showdown
>Throw a molotov, enemies eventually die
>Force Field expires before fire expires
>Panic intensifies
>Allies dont wander into the fire, and actually avoid walking into it
BASED STYG
FINALLY!
Besides Six, i mean
fuck the protectorate
t. united stations / zoros shill
No, I actually take it back
Fuck you Styg you lazy serb
>What does it do?
Moar money. This is actually useful on Hard and DOMINATING now due to the reduction in selling prices. Especially if you are playing a build that needs tons of super steel.
Bonus items from merchants. This is useful if you wish to have otherwise crafting-exclusive (or limited in supply) items from various crafting categories without investing in them all. Also higher quality components.
Much cheaper jet skis and exclusive better jet ski parts from merchants. This is very important if you actually want to buy the most expensive ones, since they are expensive as shit and you are not likely to afford one without mercantile, at least not before jet skis are no longer useful or without giving up on super steel and/or house benches.
t. dirty rotten anarchist
I've already visited southern monolith and northern temple of Snakefags and interacted with thingies that are interactable. If you are speaking about health center with psy-mutant, I was there already. Nothing happened. Can I safely descend now?
t. bandit sympathiser
Is stealth knife build still complete ass?
How are machetes?
No, dude, you don't understand.
t. train heister
>Did you start the game for the first time
ye
>and rage quit at Depot A?
no, I memed on them with my sniper and acid armor
anyway, which kind and generous left all these free traps laying around for me
I don't like gorsky, but fuck the protectorate.
all better than murderous expansionist tyrants
Fug :DD
>getting an entire station killed by bandits is better than 1st world living standards
ok
Combine those 2 clues into one, I can't spoonfeed you. It wouldn't be fair.
Gorsky is in the right, you fucked up by supporting the protectorate. Freedom or death.
Okay, go gas a random train you encounter
Have fun dying then.
Musical cipher was way easier to understand than this. I just can't...
>be in uncontrolled zone
>snipe this "mordre" fisherman while in stealth
>somehow SGS figures out I killed him and aggroes on me
this is some bulllshit
>Gorsky is in the right
He literally fucked off from SGS in the middle of an assigment to start his own little fanclub and is using his (previous, at that point) position to trick you into doing all the dirty work for him. You got fucked and enjoyed it.
As I said, that's what you get for rushing. My DUDE.
Shotgun is damn fun, walking up to someone and unloading a burst full of shell just wrecks things
You're the only other zoner that goes to that ass end of Underrail. Doesn't take a detective.
>hurr lemme just commit warcrimes against people that don't want to be ruled under a tyrannical heel
The protection of the southern underrail itself takes precedent to merely SGS. He's thinking big picture. As long as core city remains independent the rest of the region will, too.
but I'm not a false-flagging CAU nigger
Fuck Scrappers
Fuck the Protectorate
and most importantly FUCK SIX
This man has excellent taste.
makes me wonder, would you be able to fuck Six?
I have 68 points left and I pretty much just took traps to see them. Should I dump them and go more into bio/chem and 25 into TC for Force Field? I think electronics or mechanics can make grenades too as well.
I am not sure how much mechanics, electronics and tailoring I need exactly so I kinda just raised them high (170 mech for big boy armor off of this FAQ). It looks like chem 40 gets me healing thingers.
>Finish Gang Showdown with Protectorade/Eels on Scrappers base
>Scrappers are down, back to normal phase, everyone's healing and reloading
>Everything normal for a single second
>When out of blue
>BANGBNABGNABGNBANGBANGRATATATATATASTATATABANGBANGBANG
>EVERYONE Starts shooting
>Jump on my chair
>Turns out a random Scrapper worker decided to poke his head out when the battle ended
>Poor guy recieved like 500 damage worth of crits when died
Imagine getting shot by 12 diffrent guys, in which most of them crit on you
Jesus christ that was hardcore
where the fuc* do i get magnesium
He could've been killed by the bandits like 3 screens away
so does the mysterious disk ever actually do anything or is it just one of the many magical macguffins in this game
Chemist traders/medicine traders/electronicts traders
Is going past 10 in perception worth it for a sniper or is it diminishing returns?
it's worth it for the higher detection alone, stealthed enemies are your bane
>hurr lemme just commit warcrimes against people that don't want to be ruled under a tyrannical heel
There's no such thing as warcrimes. There are no morals to war or to its conduction. It is a means to an end.
>The protection of the southern underrail itself takes precedent to merely SGS. He's thinking big picture. As long as core city remains independent the rest of the region will, too.
Oh please, he would've joined the Anarchs if he really wanted to help beat back the protectorate. All he really wants is power and influence. The protectorate and their sympathizers infuriate him because he sees them as weak and pampered. Dumbass can't see beyond surface level shit.
Dude weed lmao.
HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO LEARN ABOUT THIS NORMALLY (WITHOUT SPOONFEEDING)?
>The protection of the southern underrail itself takes precedent to merely SGS.
The southern Underrail itself is a fucking 3rd world shithole with bandits fucking everywhere, food shortages, a community ran by gangs, a former technocrats mutating half of that community for experiments, literal cannibals living under fucking everywhere, blood sports, an oligarchy that doesn't even hide that its an oligarchy, the poverty the likes of which no one has ever seen, alien artifacts, alien-human hybrids running around will-nilly, actual aliens, I could go on. The SGS gotta be the only station in this fucking hell that is worth anything and even then there's fucked up shit going on.
>He's thinking big picture.
You are an useful tool, is what he's thinking.
So everyone is aware that the Protectorate is a personal dictatorship without a clear path of succession right?
That thing is a civil war waiting to happen once the strongman dies
I refuse to believe Melek isn't a Godman.
Yes, and who stands in the strongest position in the game if you join them?
that just makes it worse given that Tanner's heading right for him
Listen mate, all I know is this, the anarchs unironicaly are just a buncha poorfag poofta cunts who wanna indiscriminately do crime, the protectorate got mechs and order, those other pooftas aint got shit, Im getting paid well in protectorate AND I get a suit for my efforts. That shits way better than being a anarcho fuckboy.
The second SGS gets big, theyl attack it too. Its legit just a metaclub of fuckups.
>There's no such thing as warcrimes. There are no morals to war or to its conduction.
what a nigger
stations' rights. kill all federalists of any stripe,
>all I know is this, the anarchs unironicaly are just a buncha poorfag poofta cunts who wanna indiscriminately do crime
do the free drones questline sometime
I dare you
t. jew
>surrounded by melee enemies
>tfw hitting exothermic aura
Yknow what. Im fucking chem pistols, ill fukken do it then wanker, gimme the rundown, how the fuck do I start it.
Like, mushroom brew, dude.
>hurr lemme just commit warcrimes against people that don't want to be ruled under a tyrannical heel
Why would Protectorate risk personnel when they can just gas the people who fuckin blew up a base full of personnel a moment before? What, did the Virgin Drones expect to get away with this shit?
There's no Hague Convention in Underrail, bud. They wanted anarchy, they fucking got one.
He's not wrong. Kokoschka literally doesn't even fucking know what's going on, he was just told "Protectorate bad" and likes the chick with fucked up teeth.
What should I do for a first run? Heavy armor assault rifle or Spec Ops? Maybe a sword and board fighter? I can't decide. Which of those is the easiest to craft for because getting the right amount of crafting skills is something I'm worried about
Like, go through the game normally instead of loading up a save from before finishing the game, man.
Look at the way Core City is ran and tell me who's the real bootlicker.
Only if you ask Azif to help.
typical jew, accusing others of being jews when he just said some 100% jew shit himself
but you're also a nigger
a jew nigger
like lenny kravitz, except an unsuccessful homo
dont stop the hijackers, just tell them you'll leave and not say anything, then outside core city at the trainstop, some lady will talk to you
whoever stays the fuck out of a civil war
They have the freedom to run themselves any way they want. Having the right of self determination precedes anything. I bet you're a yuro.
and you have to lie to the rail crossing leader
>core city
obviously corrupt, but the authorities leave you alone as long as you pay taxes
>protectorate
secretly torture and kill anybody they dont like; people they even *suspect* might be a threat, and they want to expand into your lands and take control of you
Big hmm.
this desu. you can pay off jews, you can't pay off a fucking inquisition.
Exactly, and who's too far away from literally everyone to participate?
Don't forget
>they pay bandits to weaken the stations
only if you build up a local alliance that can discourage protectorate enroachment and remove their embassy
can anyone give me a hint for the console puzzle in Dude's old home?
I'm shit at puzzles, is this legitimately hard, or is it just me?
wasn't me. war crimes are jewish weapons, good goy.
Aren't you supposed to do Rail Crossing before Core City and Expedition stuff?
This is why to stay with your local residential station and avoid all this shitstorm
SGS is home
>tfw you want Gorsky and Sneaky to die
>tfw Dan keeps on getting SHATTERED while Gorsky and Sneaky tank everything
godammit, i just want them to die but not best boi
user
THE SEQUENCES ARE THERE FOR A REASON. NOTE THE NUMBERS IN EACH LINE. NOTE THE NUMBERS ASKED.
MATHEMATICS NIGGA, PULL OUT A NOTEBOOK OR PAPER AND WRITE.
It's really easy, barely a puzzle.
Or you can tank yourself
>They have the freedom to run themselves any way they want.
>dude a tyranical oligarchy has a right to impose their will over the populance and distract them from real issues using blood sports lmao
You seem to have a gross misunderstanding of freedom, especially the negative liberty. Tell me zoners have their unalienable rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness respected, I dare you.
>I bet you're a yuro.
I bet 3rd shitholes are a fucking paradise in your mind. I hear the weather in Uganda is great this time of the year, start moving out.
>secretly torture and kill anybody they dont like; people they even *suspect* might be a threat, and they want to expand into your lands and take control of you
That's what the drones say about protectorate, that's what the protectorate and others say about drones. We're comparing propaganda at this point. The difference is, we can see Free Drones sentence a small community to death and kill a defenseless envoy.
Try throwing nades at Gorsky.
Is there any side stuff to do pre-junkyard?
I found 2 different burrower locations but they're too hard to kill.
Anything else that's not as hard as Junkyard or the burrower stuff?
so did biocorp genocide the lemurians because they're greedy coporate shitbags or because NFT wouldn't stop fucking with the shadow dimension?
nice repeating digits
did you kill the bandits in and outside of GMS already?
Ha, I suspected that myself. Ironhead seem way to organized on their own, and they sure play into the protectorates hand just like ISIS does for israel.
>Tell me zoners have their unalienable rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness respected, I dare you.
Well, they can make some money and move out. Or form gangs to protect themselves, so yeah. More freedom than north underrail citizens have, for sure. Luxuries aren't freedom.
that's what some of the free drones say from before they were free drones and have no reason to lie
Also Holloway says some pretty similar things to you as a fellow tincan.
>sentence a community to death
no, just keep the protectorate from buying their loyalty
those people can just move if they can't defend themselves
>defenseless envoy
so who were those three well-equipped military guards?
Will you have enough regen later game to cast spells for a while or is it always a slurpfest?
Probably both.
>tfw Gorsky got TOASTY~ but Dan got sniped again
i think i might take this one but i really want to see what the dan man has to say if his old friend and his jail bait died
He is not happy.
He'll at least be alive.
>no, just keep the protectorate from buying their loyalty
The Protectorate can buy the loyalty of whoever it wants. You wanna be an anarchist, act like it.
>those people can just move if they can't defend themselves
>dude this entire community can just go to fuck knows where, not my problem, lmao
>what do you mean stealing supplies that in needs to survive is bad?
Or, it can be protected by bandits an actual force capable of it Protectorate has redeeming qualities at least, drones have none. All they do is fuck shit up for everyone involved. There's not a single instance where drones helped anyone but themselves.
>so who were those three well-equipped military guards?
>killing unarmed civilians is ok if they have armed guards
Jesus fuck dude, he's begging for his life if you talk with him. And if you actually spare it, drones tell you to fuck off. How cold is that? CAU are nice guys compared to this, and they are the worst Protectorate has to offer.
He'll probably shoot himself in the head in a few years.
>Jesus fuck dude, he's begging for his life if you talk with him.
So do almost every other character when they are near death.
>CAU are nice guys compared to this
ok
Am I good to go now?
Nah, Dan ain't a pussy.
Woooooooooooo!
I finally got a metal armor, at least!
Yes, you did it.
Thanks, user. What would I even do without you...
You are still missing the point. You're killing an unarmed civilian that does nothing to defend himself.
And while Holloway says he had to do this too, he at least ackowledges how fucked up that is, Cathart acknowledges how fucked up that is and wants to do something about it, it's not built into the system or any ideology. Meanwhile, killing unarmed civilians is a fucking rite for passage for free drones. Again, Protectorate has redeeming qualities. Drones have none.
thanks man, wrote the whole thing out using the sums I had added before, just seeing them together like that made it click to me
yeah, guess not
piss easy once your eyes are open
He's clearly trying to bullshit around about his actual age, huh.
Anyone else get serious EYE city level vibes from Underrail? I would kill for some weird isometric EYE/Underrail crossover in the vein of Fallout Online.
Yeah done that.
I jus need some levels before I star doing Depot A. I'm level 6 at the moment.
Somebody post me a heavy armor shotgun build, all I'm seeing itt are gay fucking wimpy psi wizards. stealth sniper would be cool too
What sky jet have you guys been using?
I've been using the torpedo after trying them all. I just like the fact I can kite anything and I can actually use melee on it.
How do you get inside the nexus of technology?
The door is sealed and the I can't find an entrance in the nearby marshes or crab cave.
You didn't go far enough.
>You're killing an unarmed civilian that does nothing to defend himself.
Think back to the last time you have attacked Fort Apogee for the fun of it. Did you spare the unarmed civilians, or did you shoot them in the back as they fled screaming because they. just. won't. let. you. end combat? Be honest.
I'm currently level 8 before Depot, I'm about to finish Abram Junkyard missions.
I will give you an advice: Explore everything you can, every area will most likely give oddities or goodies.
Do the first Scrapper missions, then do all Black Eels mission
Do Abram missions, read the tutorial on the wiki to get it right, it's very easy to lock yourself out some pretty huge content later in game
How big of a brain will I need to play this game
Be honest
Dude's quest was fucking great, go do that shit right now if you haven't already, but make sure not to overcharge the cats
I actually predicted that only a minority of player would find the torch and it would cause some butthurt down the road.
That said, you're really not the best example, since, as I understand, you skipped Dude.
The envoy doesn't even start combat. No excuse, he's a good boy. Nice try tho.
No, I did mushroom brew quest earlier . Maybe it was my decision not to start a new walkthrough but to play through DLC from the pre-end save. The fact that that save is 2 years old doesn't help too. I just forgot.
Dun dun dun, dun dun-dun
Dun dun dun, dun dun-dun
Dun dun dun, dun dun-dun
Dun dun dun, dun dun-dun
Dun dun dun, dun dun-dun
at least 6 INT
just do a heavy armor AR build but shotgun perks instead, it's not hard.
But were you to the Fatherland?
fuck my ass was for
Let's say I don't remember. Maybe I drank too much mushroom brew that day... Or maybe I should start completely new playthrough. High int pistols maybe?
>killing unarmed civilians is ok if they have armed guards
He's not a civilian, he's a military envoy. Or at least he's working for the military.
Imagine going into enemy territory, unarmed, and expecting to not get attacked/killed. He's a retard or a coward, and he deserves it. He should have at least had a handgun. Regardless, he knew the risks when he decided to help expand a hostile imperialist tyranny by personally going into dangerous territory.
Not a bad idea. High INT goes well with intimidation in the Black Sea, if you want lore. Trust me.
>it's fine to kill diplomats if they work for the enemy
wew
and you people were bitching about warcrimes a few posts ago lmao
>Silently assasinate someone
>With a hammer
Muties? Lonely savage (Yngvar, I think) on the west-northwest? The whole Ferryman's phylosophy course? Also, were you an Expedition alpha tester or something? You seem to have too much knowledge of it.
Does the list of things vendors want to buy refresh with time?
How long does it take?
He's a tchortist, dont believe what he says
Did any of the preexisting builds get any new toys? Feat wise, it seems like only sniper and stealth got any new toys and only the former affected playstyle
What level should I try jumping into expedition content on normal? I was thinking 12
Tchort is based though. I wish I could evolve like Tchort. Tchort is evolution, brother.
What level should I be before jumping into expedition content? I was thinking 12
You're still justifying killing an unarmed man as a rite of passage. That's not mentioning everything else wrong with the Drones and right with the Protectorate, which boils down to
>North Underrail is basically a 1st world country with a high standard of living
>Underrail is a 3rd shithole with the standard of living so low being a hermit is Deep Caverns living next to a baby Leviathan is argueably better
>Free Drones kill unarmed innocents and sentence small communities to death and feel good about it, there's not a single instance where they every helped anyone ever
>Protectorate defends small communitites from bandits, any bad shit that goes on inside is criminal and/or not a part of the system or the core ideology
Sorry dude, drones a shit. Protectorate does good things on top of the bad and is salvagable. There's absolutely no value to anarchists protecting the living hell that is southern underrail.
The Hard mode sell values are fucking retarded.
We need a way to customize difficulty. I want harder encounters but HP debuff and awful prices for selling items are AIDS.
Tchort is dead.
Yngwar, yes. Need INT to understand him after you intimidate him, lots of it.
Also yes, took you long enough.
is Hit and Run worth it if I'll be using Psycho-temporal Contraction (+15 AP +30 MP) and Sprint on a melee dude? Would almost rather go Paranoia for imitative and trap spotting
If I kill the Tchort, does it mean I am more evolved than it?
lol dude just max mercantile lmao
Do Psi/Knife builds work or would your stats/feats be spread too thin? I know Psi/Sniper builds work but I kind of want to do a melee hybrid. I play gun toting characters all the time.
Actually Mercantile doesn't affect sell prices, only when you buy stuff.
I'm sorry man, but the whole philosophy of the Institute is fiction Eidein came up with to further his and Tchort's goals. It was too good to be true.
Sledgehammer metal armor psychokinesis build
Do it
It just means Tchort was not as evolved as you think.
What's the breakpoint for Intimidation to spook him and make him speak?
Do you ever get stronk enough to just murder everyone in SGS in open combat?
Just asking out of curiousity
Yes and no.
100.You can actually get up to 83 bonus from gear and food alone, if you kill pirates. But I won't go further than that.
I want to start dumping points into a speech skill before getting to the expansion. Intimidate or Persuasion?
Shit dude, you killed Tanner?
I really want a mod that gives shopkeepers infinite money
have both limited things they want to buy AND limited cash is too annoying.
Nah, I'm just starting. Just wanted to know if I'll ever get to indulge on my edginess
what do you mean
>Free Drones kill unarmed innocents and sentence small communities to death
totally dishonest
They don't kill innocent people, period. The envoy is not innocent. They don't sentence small communities to death as I've already argued and you've chosen to ignore.
You're a dishonest shill or you're delusional.
Great, thanks.
Nah, I want to play as a stealth character. I like Thought Control, which pairs wonderfully with stealth, and Temporal Manipulation seems both cool and useful as well. I haven't played in years though.
I think it's iffy. You only get those points if you were below a certain amount. I'd rather have sprint and/or fancy footwork, but it depends; hit and run is better for sledge and spears because they have slower attacks.
1 super god like player character psychic wizard
vs.
1 random gangster using a crossbow and a shock bolt
who wins?
The one who attack first
roll initiative
wasn't sure if it pays off later. Up to level 3, I wasn't seeing much value from it as I could RARELY use that movement to go attack someone else.
I think I'll drop it and save the point in Agil and go for more Dex for Cheap Shots.
>lmao I'm just sabotaging their food source that's not sentencing anything to death
>if you work for the enemy you deserve to die, even if you're just a diplomat
>but don't gas me bro that's warcrimes :(
locus of control.
Plot twist: he's out of line of sight but will always know where your character is
>totally dishonest
No, it's not dishonest at all.
>They don't kill innocent people, period. The envoy is not innocent.
I already adressed this. He is an unarmed non-combatant that you kill as a rite of passage. That's fucked up, period.
>They don't sentence small communities to death as I've already argued and you've chosen to ignore.
Indirectly killing people whe you know full well that STEALING their RIGHTFULLY NEGOTIATED supplies THAT THEY ABSOLOUTELY FUCKING NEED REGARDLESS OF THEIR FEELINGS TOWARDS PROTECTORATE will result in their death is still killing, period. Steal an insulin pen from a diabetic and defend yourself in court like this, guess what happens. If anyone here is dishonest and delusional, it's you. Move to your Ugandan paradise already.
Psychic wizard can snap out of stuns at will
Locus control then
>try out Dominating difficulty
>every early game area with Psi beetles now has 5-6 of them
>it was already hard with half that many
So what, am I SUPPOSED to cheese them with doors? Or save frag grenades?
>food source
What food source? They were getting weapons and ammo.
A diplomat in enemy territory, working to further the ends of your faction.
So it's okay to pump mutagenic gas into somebody's ventilation system, when they have no defense against that, but it's not okay to shoot an enemy "diplomat" wearing a bulletproof vest with armed guards in a contested area? Dishonest shill.
The doors are your best friends.
>psi beetle
>frags
Off to a good start.
>Ugandan paradise
Like south underrail? You won't let us.
Hard and Dominating are meme difficulties, the game is not designed for them. It's strictly for the people who want to bend the game as much as possible and use the cookie cutter builds. Hard is already annoying with its money debuff.
>SUPPOSED to cheese them
yes. dominating is literally made for the minmaxing turboautists who thought hard was too easy. styg himself did not test if the game was possible to beat on this difficutly, he just added it as a fuck you; and still autism triumphed.
>psi beetle
>frags
Eh, when their brains are exposed, it's okay.
Hard and lower are child-tier easy. The game's no fun with no challenge.
There's almost no difference between hard and normal aside from the fact Hard is significantly less fun. Your earnings are literally cut in half which leads to less experimentation with crafing.
The game's designated difficulty is Normal. Everything above is made for autists.
Level to 5 before going into beetle areas, pick up the best PSI skills you can, try to pick them off 1 at a time. You're not killing them with physical attacks so if you're doing a no Psi build better have one of those electric discharge weapons.
Doors and molotovs
>So it's okay to pump mutagenic gas into somebody's ventilation system
Yes, it is okay to kill combatants however you want. There's no Hague to save you, and anarchists wouldn't sign it anyways.
>when they have no defense against that
You don't fucking kill people so they can defend themselves, are you stupid? That's not even a moral consideration. The moral consideration could be the needless suffering, but it is not needless in this cases as it prevents the risk to any personnel. Sorry, lives of soldiers are worth more than enemy's well being.
>but it's not okay to shoot an enemy "diplomat" wearing a bulletproof vest with armed guards in a contested area?
Yes, it is not okay to to kill unarmed non-combatants, and it's especially not ok to make a glorified rite of passage out of it that everyone is cool with. Diplomats had an immunity for the vast majority of human history.
>Dishonest shill.
Are you in Uganda yet?
>You won't let us.
Why not, go ahead.
>hard is meme tier
based retard
I only said frags because I have 2 of them, I didn't take points in Chemistry to craft molotovs. Maybe it's fucking required to get out of early game though, so I might reroll.
It's very optimistic to expect their brains to be open when throwing at a group.
HE nades, user.
Hard is literally a less fun normal. No difference in health and barely and difference in terms of enemy compositions or tactis but significantly less money and reduced health for some inane reason. The very fucking tooltip in the beginning tells that the game was created for Normal.
Is there a HE nade lying around somewhere in SGS? I haven't found one. Or should I spend literally all of my money buying one?
It's random. But buying works, yeah. Money is gonna be tight on DOMINATING, especially early on.
Pfft, I have more shit than I can sell on Hard and I'm rolling in charons.
>Metal armorfag cannot move for shit
>Sprint
>Become a short distance marathonist for 2 turns
I've made a playthrough on hard after a run on normal, retard. Read the tooltip about the difficulties when you start the game.
EMP affecting entire inventory is yet again a dumb non-fun feature that adds nothing to the gameplay.
Where the heck is Cornell in core city?
Not him, but there are thousands of ways they could have gassed the Drones, yet they picked mutagen. There are now mutants on the doorstep of Core City, Rail Crossing, even SGS. Needless suffering is not the issue, needless danger to half of the south's communities is.
>read the tooltip
how about you read what the difficulty settings do instead
They do exactly what i was talking about.
How about you learn to read.
Armor Sloping and Nimble are your friends. You can wear Super Steel armor with basically no Armor penalty. There's even a new feat that reduced it by another 10%.
I played a monk before that could wear super steel while still getting benefit from Lightning Punches.
>Armor Sloping
I'm 3 INT
>Nimble
Yeah I was about to take that, Tchort taught me that being mobile is important, even as a metal armorfag
I don't know if I should take Armor Sloping or not but definitely not Nimble unless Heavyweight counts BEFORE reduction.
If you're a fist build the feats that give bonuses for having high armor class aren't worth it compared to the broken ones for low armor class.
If you're a sledge build then sure, be as fat as you want.
I'm not gonna pretend like CAU are good people, because they're not. They're pretty much the worst side of Protecorate, which is one of the reasons why I'm saying they are merely salvageable with some good and some bad. The only reason they exist and are allowed to be psychopaths is because they get shit done. Pretty sure they were last resort that no one really wanted to use, but the destruction of Epione Lab left the hogher ups with no choice. You can see how pissed Cathart feels about it.
It was an overall pretty shit thing to do. But it doesn't change the fact that United Stations is a place where people could be shitposting on a zimbabwean basket weaving website in the comfort of their homes, while south underrail is worse than most of not all 3rd shitholes we have. It's not perfect, far from it, but still an enormous fucking improvement.
>500 posts for a two year old game
>expansion never
>armor class
Armor Penalty, I was just playing Pathfinder before this so I'm still thinking in D&D
retard
but the expansion just came out
Are fist builds even good anymore? They got an across the board nerf with the 140% mechanical resistance penalty.
>Pretty sure they were last resort that no one really wanted to use, but the destruction of Epione Lab left the hogher ups with no choice.
Speaking of which, how did they arrive so fast? Epione was only just destroyed, and the metro lines to the north were blocked.
>Underrail politics thread
Fascinating
Late game? Sure. Problem is getting there, you'll probably be a knife/sword fag with no knife/sword feats for half the game.
The 14 DEX leather combat glove kenshiro builds got much worse though, you have real problems against anything with high mechanical resistance even with Expose Weakness.
they're still pretty good
if psimonks are maybe the most broken melee build at 125%, I doubt it changed much at 140%
they were already at apogee, is my guess, its just two maps away
>could have bypassed the stupid spider caves with a 10 AGI check
STYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYG
Are there any temp mercantile buffs? Only need 10 to access the Foundry store, but haven't found anything food wise that gives it
>Speaking of which, how did they arrive so fast? Epione was only just destroyed
I assume the higher ups were informed as soon as it happened. They do have communications. Someone probably immedietaly went
>alright, shit went too far, fuck it, send *those* fucks to clean this mess up
>Epione was only just destroyed, and the metro lines to the north were blocked.
Supposedly they sneaked past the blocade. It's not unreasonable that they rode the train as far as possible before sneaking past. It's believable enough, I guess.
Holy shit I just crafted a 216% mechanical resistant ant-rifle vest after getting asspouned by sentrybots in depot A and they literally cannot hit through my armor now. They just stun me and hit 0s because their ammo is too weak. This is hilarious.
>Supposedly they sneaked past the blocade.
Or they've been in south underrail the whole time, doing false-flags and other gay zionist shit.
>A diplomat in enemy territory, working to further the ends of your faction.
all diplomats work to further the ends of your own faction, retard. What the fuck do you think diplomats are?
>but he's escorted
because the underrail is a shithole full of bandits and monsters
can YOU get from SGS to core city without ever needing any weapons?
If it were a galvanic vest, you'd have a chance of taking no damage from their tasers and not getting stunned.
Yet on the Free Drones questline they arrive before Epione is toast.
Epione was an inside job. Or do you believe the Free Drones are competent enough to pull it off without you?
That's an option, too. Beats cannibals.
right, im saying they were at apogee and heard the alarm or were otherwise notified and immediately rushed out
>Epione was an inside job.
C4 can't blow load-bearing pillars!
Not, but seriously, it wouldn't be worth it. It's one thing to do false flags on civilians, it's even better since it gains more sympathy, but on a fucking troop elevator that could solve one of the biggest issues with expanding into the south? No way.
Cathcart would have known about them if they were.
It's just two different timelines. You want that armor or not?
Is anybody playing this on linux? How does it run?
So should I make a new character or just use my old one.
I like my tankpsi build.
just fine
You are thinking this is only about military expansion? No, no, no. There is symbolism, and rites, there are blood sacrifices and a deeper meaning behind it all. For the glory of Melek. You can't do that in your country, it would be too dangerous, it would draw too much unwanted attention. No. No, that's not right. Not yet. Open your eyes to the truth.
god you are derailed tarded
>blood sacrifices
That's not Godmen stuff. Melek probably just need an unified human force for his shenanigans.
Or he is an agent of the Leviathans.
