Duty is stronger than soldier boys and bandits combined and our motives are true. Being a Stalker is studying the zone, working with artifacts, and shooting a gun. Duty provides doubly of each.

I bet if you saw a Scientist you would kill him for a sausage and say it was to "study the zone." If you came across Clear Sky's base you would raid and enslave everyone to "shoot your gun."
