You guys are alright

It does feel weird that we just had a major tournament this year with more people playing VSAV than MvC2 or CvS2.

I wish Lilith was real

I will never understand why Street fighter is so much more popular than Darkstalkers. You think the gothic Halloween aesthetic would draw more people in than cartoonish stereotypes and green electric werewolf man

I don't think nobody likes Halloween anymore

October is basically breast cancer month nowadays

It's laregly brand power momentum from how fuckhuge of a phenomenon SF2 was. Darkstalkers did great in Japan, but Americans never cared about it for some reason. Then the arcade market died and Capcom withdrew from the fighting game genre altogether for a decade, during which the game industry transitioned into the AAA era where only the biggest brands are allowed to survive. So that's why they brought back SF but none of the other fighters they made back in the 90s.

Thanks for your very well thought out and insightful post, user

I like the idea of games using special moves as the developers of SF2 originally intended, not as combo enders but with a deliberate and thought-out utility. I already know about SamSho, but is Darkstalkers kinda like that, too? insofar as how they implement special moves--I know movement- and combo-wise they're worlds apart.

You know, it's interesting.
I first played Darkstalkers when i was about 8 years old.
My aunt had it on her PSX.
Even back then i already prefered Lilith who is obviously the more petite of the two.
What does that say about me?

>Be child
>Like character that is child
>Grow up and still like character
it says nothing

SF games are mostly just better games

Lilith is a child?
Also i was talking about attraction.
I'm pretty sure Lilith is just Morrigans less stacked twin sister or some shit. At least that's always what i thought.

You'd be correct. Mostly. She's a part of Morrigan's soul that gained sentience and its own body.
