Look at the comparison they have to point out, "durr you can jump-roll in RE4" when the entire game is designed around Leon's movements so perfectly because the game is entirely focused on the shooting and not the action-movie inspired jumping around. Best way to confirm how the movement adds nothing is just look at RE6, where you can walk and shoot, you can roll around like an idiot and it is absolutely inferior in every conceivable way to both RE4 and Max Payne

Here's a big red flag in vidya, having a huge cinematic heavily-scripted intro with minimal gameplay where you just walk down a straight line as shit explodes or happens around you for the purpose of setting the tone and atmosphere.
I fucking hate this shit and the only game that ever pulled it off was the Phantom Pain and I almost didn't make it to the actual game because of how atrocious the intro was to that game.

I don't care about long as fuck cinematics if they are skippable. I can replay MGS2 and MGS3 over and over and skip the codec conversations + cutscenes and it's no big issue.
Even then on my first play through the cutscenes were interesting and I didn't want to skip them. On something like Xenosaga Episode 1 the cutscenes are obscenely long and convoluted anime sci-fi plot where everyone is spouting nonsense left and right and you have no idea what's going on or how anyone is involved and that sucks.
