Rin feels pretty flush with the themes to be honest. The whole "fuck women I want to follow my dreams" shit is what Rin's whole route is about. To actually get the true Rin ending you have to answer like 10 questions that basically force you to admit you want to just do what you want, and don't give a shit about anyone else. Rin's route's also probably the most satisfying one of the bunch because it's really the only one where Vincent actually learns anything and develops as a character.

Top is English PS3/Xbox version, middle is English PC version, bottom is Japanese PS4 version. Western PS4 version's gonna be changed just like the PC one was.

Then people tried to claim that Rin was transphobic, but that's just pure bullshit since the game goes out of its way to be incredibly progressive with Rin's route with a bunch of talk about how there's nothing wrong with gay marriage and letting Erica become a pro women's wrestler. The only remotely conceivably transphobic thing with Rin could be the fact Vincent lashes out at when he finds out Rin's sex, but that's not painted in a good light and Vincent immediately realizes he fucked up and spends the entire rest of the game trying to apologize. There's really nothing to actually censor, this whole controversy was built on misinformation in the first place.

There are 5 new endings in this one, and all of the stages have been redone (you can still play the ones from the original game), as well as some new stages. There's also a few new side characters and a bunch of QOL improvements.
The only localization fuckery that Fully Body is likely to have is Erica's deadnaming, which is also censored in the PC version of the original.

That's not true at all. PC gaming was always popular, it's just that consoles are less popular now because publishers started to realize they have no more devs to make good games, so they just started porting everything to PC to get extra sales. Instead of just making new games like they used to. The entire industry is different than it was 15 years ago.

The ironic thing is that these games are all easily emulated. P4 was pirated to hell and back and played on the emulator around when it came out, and the same thing has happened in Persona 5. They missed out on console sales, not just on potential PC sales. Even now they could make some decent money if they ported it but every month they don't -- they lose out. Sega Europe realized this with Catherine because they actually have a brain. They ported it before too many people emulated it and sold it before the remaster came out.

Full Body's not really a remaster. People are able to emulate the original Catherine and have been for a while, which is where Atlus might have lost sales, but not Fully Body. There's a lot of stuff in there that isn't in the original, and there's no real means of emulating PS4 or even the Vita very well yet. P5R is also a PS4 exclusive (not on PS3 like the original) so they're not going to lose any sales to emulation for those.

They're only "okay" with it because their low standards that come with having been raised in an archaic society without any ideological progress.

The arranged puzzles are the same as the originals except the new shapes give more restrictions (nothing changed about Rapunzel) and Rin really contrasts with the rest of the game for a few reasons (iyashi-kei ayylmao, her cutscenes have really flashy cinematography, doesn't really add anything to the theme and is only there for moefags to admit they don't really give a shit about real women) but other than that it's pretty much the same game, and a good one at that, IMO one of Atlus' bests

Rapunzel on Arrange is completely different from the original user, they changed all of the puzzles there - it's not like the ones in the story that are just slightly altered. Have to disagree about Rin; I think she is easily the best addition and her story really feels a lot better written than the other routes for the most part. The conclusion feels far less rushed and better earned, and Vincent doesn't just get handed a happy ending which absolves him of everything else he's done. Well I think Rin's story is good at least until the last night, but fortunately even the ayylmao stuff didn't really ruin what had come before it. Also yeah, the new cutscenes are really flashy in terms of direction to the point where I wish they'd gone back and redone the ones from the original, since they really stick out now (the one where Vincent confronts Master is in dire need of some touching up in particular).

They made the game way too easy desu. Adding undo to Hard mode was a mistake. It breaks the bosses, since undoing when they're about to attack just cancels the attack, and there's no limit to the number of times per stage you can do it so long as you move a block after using it. Normal is now Easy, and Easy is now a complete joke to the point where it makes you wonder why they even bothered adding Safety. The appeal of Catherine to me was the difficulty, and while I'm fine with all the new additions like Safety to make it easier for others, they shouldn't have neutered Hard and Normal the way they did. I really hate how Atlus's modern approach to difficulty is either ridiculously unbalanced messes like Challenge in P5, or just plain not difficult, like Hard in P5 and Hard in Full Body.

Uhhh...well, you get one new level, a couple new endings, and you can play as Joker on Babel.

It depends, you can literally play the game like a visual novel and skip all the nightmares. With a walkthrough and careful save states you could probably get all 13 endings in a long session.
You can also just play it for the challenging nightmare puzzles.

Main thing I am curious about is that clips of the endings with subtitles were found when people hacked the Japanese demo in January, I wonder if that'll happen this time around, I suspect even if it was possible people won't bother since all the endings are already widely available.

Rin does change a fair bit. The game basically branches on the 6th day into two different routes now, and Rin's route is very different from the original route. As far as Atlus rereleases go, Full Body has probably the most significant story changes of them all. The reason for that is that Catherine is already a much shorter game than most of Atlus's other titles, so the amount of stuff added ends up being proportionately more than usual.

I do honestly doubt Atlus USA will change anything beyond the credits name, because there is legitimately nothing that needs changing, and in an unchanged state a bunch of the westerners that jumped on the bandwagon to complain will probably assume stuff has been changed because they've been told the game is full of transphobia only to play the game and find out that it isn't. I fully expect there to be an article somewhere shortly after release thanking Atlus USA for removing the line Vincent says to Erica about her being a wrestler, despite that line being removed in the Japanese version.

It really bothers me that I'm sticking up for Atlus USA here, because they are a truly awful and incompetent company and their translations are mediocre and incredibly lacking in polish most of the time.
