Id also like anything story based, like point and click adventures, and any sort of space games.
Titanic: Adventure Out of Time is imo the best adventure game of that era and I played most of them back in the day. 10/10 espionage adventure thriller. Nightdive Studio just rereleased it too so no difficulty in getting a copy to run.
Riven is infintely better than Myst. Also from the 90s.
Im planning on doing at least myst and riven, are any of the other games good?
Ill take a look, i only saw it in that jontron video but it seems cool and jank
Good taste, OP
hell yeah, i got these bad boys after watching hbomberguy and upisnotjump but good god im bad at it, really jank for me, someone who grew up on the ps2 and hadnt played a point and click isometric rpg like it before
very true
adding to that, other classics you will enjoy and hold up today
>Thief: Gold
>Worms Armeggedon
>Alpha Centauri
>Dungeon Keeper
>Homeworld
Myst III is probably the high water mark of the series. Myst IV is also good, it's just a little shorter than it probably ought to be.
I didn't even bother with V. But of the original 4 games, ranked by quality, I'd say
Myst III
Riven
Myst IV
Myst
Bonus points to III and IV for having Jack Wall do the scores; the score to Myst III remains one of the best in all of vidya

It's just that III and IV aren't technically 90s games.
>are any of the other games good?
the other games have more puzzles if that's what you want. but in sense of narrative and atmosphere, they fall short and it's not even close imo.
>Myst III having less narrative than Myst
>Myst IV having less narrative than Myst
yes, Riven had the best world-building, but III and IV were both terrific, and unlike the first two had actually good acting which really helped carry them.
Nothing in the series will ever top Saavedro's lunacy.
Rugged Affiliation 2
Horror games would be good additions, too. Stuff like the clock tower series, Sanitarium, and D
Outcast is a cult classic
The Last Express for being the best adventure game ever made apart from Riven.
Wing Commander III for 90s hubris
Time Commando for 90s goofiness
Die By The Sword for 90s fondness for experiments
Leisure Suit Larry 7 for 90s juvenileness
Dungeon Keeper 2 for evil
which civ is the best civ btw? i know so many people love that game (along with rts stuff like starcraft, diablko, warcraft, aoe, cleopatra etc) but i wanna know what the one civilization game is the best cos it sounds fun to make a whole world and make ghandi fucking nuke nazi germany
GTA 2 because it still is better than all 3D GTA
Conflict Freespace is the best space game ever made.
The best civ is Alpha Centauri
I will never stop being mad at Outcast for getting bugged to shit when I was close to finishing it.
Ok OP. I am going to recommend the King's Quest series by Sierra. King's Quest 6 is the best of the whole thing but they are all good. The first one came out in 1984 but they ran through the 90s. The series was huge for its time although now mostly forgotten and was the staple of Sierra who was also huge and mostly forgotten now.
King's Quest is sited as the FIRST adventure game with interactive graphics and that wasn't text and/or static picture based like Zork.
Check out King's Quest 6, the highlight of this series. Be careful though, you may need a walkthrough at points as King's Quest puzzles can get a bit obtuse. In fact this series is pretty much where point and click adventure games get the insane logic reputation from. 6 though is not bad on the logic puzzles though as by the 6th game they had gotten the swing of it down right.
I really want more people to know about King's Quest.
Dont worry. i know about kings quest. Never played it though so ill check it out. Ive heard 5 and 6 are good
Cool. Play 6 first as it is more newcomer friendly than 5. 5 has some famous unwinnable states you can accidentally get yourself into. 6 is much better on that.
6 also just better overall.
The Secret of Monkey Island
Indiana Jones and the fate of atlantis
Has nobody seriously said DOOM?
Made obsolete by nu-DOOM.
op here, i think everyone knows dooms a good game, i played all of doom 2 qnd 1 a while ago. Its classic and its great.
It was amazing for me at the time as well bc i was a huge metalklica fan when i played it
City Building Series. Caesar III, Pharaoh + Cleopatra, Zeus + Poseidon, Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom.

Twinsens odyssey
I loved nu-DOOM but DOOM was still a fantastic 90s PC game.
Some of my favorite 90s PC games were legitimately those Sierra edu-tainment games.
The Incredible Machine, The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain, there were a bunch of fucking classics in that genre.
