One of the things I liked in TWEWY was how the Reapers weren’t just your generic group of bad guys. Some of them were pretty friendly and were even willing to give you helpful advice and what not on how to survive the Game. Either that or be complete goofballs.

New protags/location, for one

I wouldn't, I'd do a "spiritual successor" or whatever. Use the widescreen on the Switch (assuming it's sticking to Nintendo handhelds) to have left joycon control a character on the left, right joycon controls right character. New characters/locations etc, don't have it re-use the old cast. I think they had their story tied off really well

I remember reading the interview of the old team about how on the first conception they had the idea of multiple Reaper's Game around the globe. Cities like Los Angeles, Egypt and others were mentioned, but they decided to put their efforts on Shibuya given the limitations of memory of the DS.

Final Remix only came out last October, I'll be optimistic for at least a few years. KH3's Secret Ending had Shibuya's 104 too, that's gotta be something TWEWY.

Personally i first played it on switch with motion controls and it was hard to get used to but i found it to be better to be better than the handheld controlls desu

It will probably get the 3D treatment, which is to be expected given that the plot of the gang is not solved on the 3DS gang. Other than that, I'm not sure if we will get another TWEWY, but I want a new cast, the old cast completed their journey.

Colour Cards, the combo map would lead to primary colours that you have to mix to get the right tertiary or primary colour to earn fusion stars. So if it displays green as the colour to shoot for, you need to hit yellow and then blue or blue and then yellow, but if it displays yellow as the colour you need.

The regular theme would be using Sheep Heavenly pins to create stuff like Creepy Weepy Barrier and ram into enemies and the fusions would be stuff like black holes on a massive scale. Obviously I'd be wearing Sheep Heavenly threads to match.

It's a musical staff. Attacks place a half note, quarter note, or eighth note on the bar, and a finisher ends the measure. Bar is in 4/4 time, at the end of the bar notes are cleared and a star is rewarded for each correct measure.

Not worth it unless you completely change the combat system.
Solo remix is a pain compared to how smooth the DS version is.

I always figured that the only reason there’s support Reapers is because they’re too weak to be anything else.

The twist is that you're doing busywork. A Harrier can rack up enough points to keep themselves alive for a good while and then just chill, but if your'e a support you gotta show up 7 days straight each time there's a work week, setting up barriers, confirming objectives, fetching the GM a sandwich,etc. Supports are on the bottom of the corporate ladder.

If there's one thing that TWEWY has made me want it's pins to put on my clothing. But I have no idea where you'd buy them.

I ended up on the spammiest deck ever. All three speed-up pins, a heal pin, and Lazy Bomb + Falling-Rock spam. Done right, you could basically trap anything medium-size or larger. I never could beat the secret boss on hard or ultimate though; it's kinda bad when the bosses don't get stunlocked.

Just reminds me of Air Gears. All of this is past media that isnt going to be touched in years sadly...

Third day, first shop. I talked to both red hoodie guys and both just gave me "...". Then I spend hours killing noise and then I talk to the lower hoodie guy again and suddently it triggers a dialog and I get thrown into the card guessing tutorial.

Also the dog sature. Why cant I rub it before talking to the guy on the previous screen? I noticed the blue mark instantly and rubbing it was my first instinct.

For your first example, that might be a bug since the game doesn’t have that usually happen. As for the second example, that’s actually a part of the puzzle solving since you have to scan the guy by the Moyai statue to get the idea to polish it.

Well I had that idea anyways. So much for ludo narrative game design.

it's based on how many regular attacks you do first, I think you need 6 to get the double laser. His ground combo works the same where you get better obstacles the more lock ons you do.

You need to finish a combo of 6 or more higher attacks. You'll probably need to get threads that increase his combo map.

If you equip Joshua with stuff like Pi-Face’s Jeans, along with other equipment that increases the combo panels and branches, and hit an enemy at least six times while levitating, you’ll be able to unlock the finisher and attack both sides at once.

The gameplay can be a massive pleb filter for some, which makes it less likely to attract shitposting. Add to that the amount of different mechanics and multiple ways to approach the gameplay and you have a recipe for some quality threads.

As someone who played the DS version, it definitely ins't as interesting mechanically. It suffers from the fact that the joycon motion controls are clunky, and the touch screen controls make it a glorified port of the mobile game. BUT, if its the only way you really have to play the game, it's a decent alternative.

Good taste. TIME BE STILL was a great way to test your reflexes and general skill, especially when he starts spamming fireballs and what not at you.

Something with graffiti/stickering since with being a drawfag street art is closest thing I got to the whole urban street life scene.
Maybe something based off JSR's but less clunky; creating graffiti makes small summons similar to noise but with less durability. Fusion attacks create golem-esque beings to either flood the enemies or provide a layer of protection. The beasts summoned from them correlate with the majority brand Neku's wearing along with what's the established brand in the area.

Honestly blows my mind when a DS game made in 2007 has more depth to it than most triple A games today.

That’s because the developers wanted to make it so that the game took advantage of the DS hardware in almost every way possible. When you go at a product with a ton of passion and a cohesive vision, you can get some amazing results.

Don’t forget about the crazy ass boss rush in Another Day. That one had me on the edge on my seat throughout the entire time I was playing it, especially when facing Uzuki and Kariya together.

So, to close this thread off, how did you guys first discover the game? I remember reading through some articles in Nintendo Power and coming across the game for the first time. After that, I was hooked right away.

Actually had KH DDD to thank for that. I was interested in Neku’s and the other Players’ designs and found myself wanting to learn more about that. After I beat DDD, I immediately went out to try and find a copy of TWEWY at my local GameStop and after that, the rest was history.

I think the first time I ever saw anything Twewy was an ad in the back of a booklet for another DS game that I was reading, on one page was the box art of a dino king game and in the other was the box art of TWEWY. I didn't think much of it until years later when KH3D was getting released and I saw in the trailers that characters from TWEWY were going to be in it so I decided to get it and play it before 3D came out so I'd know who the characters were. Needless to say it blew my tiny mind.

Browsed video game trailers on Youtube and eventually just stumbled upon this game's back when it was still only slated for Japan release and referred to as It's a Wonderful World even in English. I couldn't tell what was even happening in any of the footage, but I liked the sprites and was curious about the game since I liked KH Chain of Memories.

Joshua is basically Jesus, the human form of an angel of heaven, and he fires the beams. They even have angels in them for christ's sake.

I remember going on car trips with my family and printing out online tips about how to get the secret reports. Shit was wack because I was a dumb kid and couldn't figure any of the in-game tips out on my own

Same. Remember that showcase of it in NP too as well as other rave reviews in EGM. I remember getting 30$ for my birthday and the rest was history. The best game anyone could play when they're 14. Lullaby for you at the end filled me with something that still gives me goosebumps to this day.

And yet it still wasn't enough for all of it, and so they decided to just swap out some songs for the cut ones in the English release, just to not let them go to waste, and this is the actual reason why some songs got replaced between regions.
