its great hardware but the library is pretty abysmal. i mean even in your list there are only 3 games that aren't ports/BC and 2 of them have been ported to other systems by now

Vita has really become the contrarian console of choice. If you are a weeb, it's a solid enough console I guess but as a big dicked western Chad, I barely fucked with my launch model until two years ago when I hacked it, threw in a SD2Vita and played PSP games on it.
yeah the 2000s are built much worse than the chad 1000.
They're cheap and easy to replace compared to the switch though, so even then it shouldn't be a big deal.

They tied the physics to the framerate too so as of now it still can't be unlocked. 30fps would have been fine

I have that one on my PSP and it's great, I enjoy it more than AC4
The campaign can be super short depending on the mission paths and planes you use (using the Fenrir and the shortest route you can easily beat the story in under 50 minutes) but it has massive replayability
X is on par with the holy trinity
X2 holds up gameplay wise and I like the enviornments, but the story kinda sucks

I don't understand why Sony didn't take the fucking amazing clicky Vita d-pad for the DS4. The DS4 d-pad feels shit compared to the Vita.

X2 has this weird ass camera and the planes feel slow and floaty, and the bossfights are absolutely retarded. And as you mentioned the story is ultra bad and it's not set in Strangereal

I love my Vita but the sticks are honestly kinda shit despite being nearly indestructible (the 1000 ones at least) and it was underclocked to hell.
It does have an incredible library though, without even considering emulation or homebrew ports, if DS emulation somehow becomes a thing it will be the greatest handheld of all time.
