The only benefit to the absurd push for 8K (when I can't even tell a fucking difference between 2K and 4K) is that it means computing power will have increased so exponentially that VR will have more room to breath.

By 2030, the raw computational power available on demand is plain stupid. Machine-minds have come to be (both human 'uploads' and native 'real AIs') and have, along with associated structural unemployment, fundamentally transformed society in totally unpredictable ways.

What can be presumed;

'VR' has become completely dominant (whether we're still using physical HMDs or BCI). Traditional physical monitors are all but extincted by virtual monitors, but actual new 'flat' content is pretty rare and is the new 'retro'.

Console are basically dead, having devolved into PC app stores. Open PC OS' have won out as the platforms of choice (over the 'mobile' style walled gardens).

Porn games (VR sex sims) are barely taboo at all. There are essentially no true taboos, just market self-division - IOW it's Japanworld.

Structural unemployment pressures have probably made gaming even more economically important (this is harder to say with any certainty, it's possible machine-minds have come up with something else eg. space colonization). A huge part of the population is some type of gaming content producer.

All games look like real life with real world physics that puts shit like GTA 4 to shame, The Great Indian Empire conducts scientific experiments in their augmented VR and are at the forefront of wolrd science. White men are used as servants and bottom tier technicians in their central supercomputer which control every human and machine in their empire. White women are used as sex slaves and as models in Indian hyper realistic VR porn.

It's gonna be the same exact shit but with new technology for us to shitpost about. A couple new containment boards and some bannings will happen. Hopefully an e-celeb board happens at some point.
At some point a company is going to end up breaking into the console market and dominating. Microsoft is gonna fuck off and make Xbox into a pre built gaming PC platform. Sony will be Sony and Nintendo will be Nintendo.
Social media will end up dying at some point in its current form and will change into something else. Yea Forums won't change in the slightest except maybe go through a buyout again.
VR will stop being a meme at some point but it'll probably be during the late 20's since its biggest hurdle right now is price range.
AI in the next few years is going to be incredibly advanced and capable of entire conversation. Fanfictionfags will be able to import their kinks and character and have an entire story generated with all of their most wanted degeneracy. Art will be more difficult but it'll happen there, too. Deep learning is a brute forced meme that'll be dropped for something more efficient.
We still won't be able to emulate Xbox 360.

They already flocked here. As long as they actually enforce a banning of e-celeb shit like with Rule 15 then it wouldn't be that bad. The main issue is actually discerning what an "e-celeb" is. Does that include e-sports players, or only the ones with twitch channels? Does it include Dobson threads? There'd need to be a specific cutoff point.

Dobson is counted. E-celeb should be any kind of celebrity or personality unless they actively make games. Todd Howard is not an E-Celeb. A Lets Play is. If the Lets Play also is making some shitty game then that gets blurry but fuck it just keep them in the /ecv/ board.
