>dragon's dogma online will close in 6 months just 4 years after its release >no international version and surprise surprise, japanese crowd isnt enough to sustain a MMO >still nothing about a potential DD sequel
wtf is wrong with crapcom? are they allergic to dimes? it's not like there is zero interest since they released PS4/XBone and PC versions of DD and people bought that shit with hopes of more
is it closing down already? wew i didnt think it was that long since its last update
Colton Watson
yes, you cant even download it now
Adrian Lopez
Fuck, I missed out. Looked really fun, had everything ready to download it a few months ago but I was moving and the download was going to take forever, so I was going to wait until I get to my new apartment with the fancy fiber optics.
Gabriel Adams
>>still nothing about a potential DD sequel >he doesn't know
Dylan Gonzalez
yeah... Itsuno saying "haha... maybe" when asked about it means nothing
I'll never understand why this shit never got a global release after DD saw a ton of success after its PC release. Why are Japanese studios/publishers so incompetent so often?
Daniel Ramirez
They said that building up server infrastructure wasn't worth it when the game would have questionable success outside japan.
Benjamin Howard
Good. I'm glad. Fuck this worthless trash, Japs being based for once. Maybe now they make an actual fucking sequel.
David Murphy
Aw fuck. It looked fun, I just was waiting for a Western release I hope at least Alchemist and all the good fights are going to be used in DD2
Nathan Gonzalez
Capcom realized they're producing a great new ip with potential to become a classic so they're desperately trying to shut it down to keep their plans of becoming Japanese EA alive.
Matthew Perez
Played it after having played 500 hours of Dark Arisen Game's hot garbage
Nathaniel Long
when absolute shit MMOs like neverwinter or skyforge manage to survive in the west, I don't think it would have been that big of a risk for them especially with how starved we are for good action MMOs
Jeremiah Myers
Itsuno has been teasing DD2 in all his DMC5 interviews and there’s an anime in the works. DDO dying is unfortunate but probably related to to COG fucking up Deep Down and being unable to keep Monster Hunter Frontier profitable.
Joshua Ramirez
From what I understand, Dragon's Dogma was more successful in the west. So a more polished, finished game like DDO (or maybe DD2) would sell like hotcakes over here. Dumb Japs.
David Harris
He never said "maybe", what he has said, though, was that he told Capcom he wanted to make either DD2 or DMC5 next, and they gave him free reign so he made DMC5. It's a safe assumption that since DMC5 is over with, he's currently working on DD2.
Parker Moore
COG games never get Western releases because the bigwigs there are known racists and they have enough sway within Capcom to get their way and only release in Japan with the occasional Korean or Taiwanese port. After purging the company of negative influences like Inafune and his ilk, Capcom has realised that the global market is where it’s at money wise. Couple that with the fact that COG sabotaged Deep Down development (they were the ones developing it) so they wouldn’t have to release a game in the West and they’ve failed miserably at keeping DDO and Frontier alive and profitable, and you get an obsolete studio that the main company have finally realised is a money sink and goes against their new company vision. DDO is a casualty of COG being fucking stupid and Capcom as a while figuring out how to make money again.
Tyler Harris
crapcom basically acts like an american company now
they only want to make money which is why you'll never see a new IP out of them ever again, just sequels, remakes, ports and the occasional collection
Dominic Phillips
Source? sounds fucked up if it's true, I was interested in Deep Down
Jaxson Cook
wait, isn't Inafune the exact opposite? like very critical of the japanese VG industry
Gabriel Hughes
He's was just a westaboo and did more harm than anything. If anything I think they're more than likely going to let Itsuno release DD as it was in his original vision, or definitely have it as a sequel/pseudo-reboot.
Aiden Smith
We already have a Dragon's Dogma sequel It's called Monster Hunter World
Asher Wood
It’s nuts how everyone just ignores this shit to whine about Muslims in video games or whatever’s up people’s asses today.
So much blatantly bullshit reasons for overseas releases getting canceled out of them.
Nicholas Reed
Remember, Itsuno didn't direct DDO.
They're giving the franchise back to him now. Why have his new title compete with an existing MMO that already isn't doing great?
