Better than Edelgard, who always dies because someone killed her to stop her genocide. Dimitri either dies defending innocent people from Edelgard or dies attacking Edelgard during one of her invasions.
And in the latter, Dimitri's death leads to one of the coolest things in the game. Edelgard manages to escape Dimitri and almost gets away with having him killed but loyal man of loyalty literally hunts her down all the way back to where she retreats to and kills her himself. This is the last thing she saw.

Manuela is like 38-40 and MByleth manages to get her pregnant multiple times, except during the Black Eagles ending where she only gets one kid.
Shamir gets tons of kiddos too, but is awful with shekels and has a gambling problem. Also had a previous lover so she's used goods.

Dimitri reforms the church, Sylvain shows people how stupid crest discrimination is and Lorenz reforms the caste system in a way that doesn't depose the nobles, and allows a better standard of living for commoners.
We don't know yet, what we've seen so far though looks good.

Part of the bad part of the crests that as long as any type of cult or whatever exists, they can be used to summon fell gods, strip people of their humanity, and provide unfair battle advantages to those with them. Edelgard is literally one of the best lords in the series for her antihero nature and how much of a threat she poses in other routes, pretty sure she fights Dimitri and Claude in the church route and lives to tell the tale.

There was never a real "Goddess". Sothis is basically a man-made Goddess created to quell conflict. There was an ancient super amazing civilization with incredible magi-tech powers. In the big conflict, Seiros and the Children of the Goddess were born, they used their incredible powers to vanquish most of humanity so Fodlan could basically reset to zero. A few survived and hid underground, they are the Slitherers. After "fixing the world", Sothis' powers was exhausted and she fell into a deep slumber in the Holy Tomb. Seiros was filled with hatred for humanity because she thought that Sothis preferred humans over her own children. Filled with hatred towards Seiros, the Slitherers plotted their revenge. They tricked Nemesis and the Ten Heroes into breaking into the Holy Tomb. Using the body of Sothis, they created the original Crests and the Holy Weapons. Seiros was furious about it, and retaliated against humanity. The slitherers took advantage of the situation and guided Nemesis towards the Red Valley, where the less insane Children of the Goddess were living peacefully. A reaction was triggered that turned all the Children of the Goddess into their dragon/beast forms. When Seiros arrived to the scene, she found Nemesis and the Ten Heroes having slain all of her family. This made Seiros completely insane, blaming Nemesis for taking everything away from her. There was a conflict among Nemesis and the Ten Heroes. Both Seiros and the slitherers took advantage of the situation. One of the Ten Heroes, Edelgard's ancestor, made a deal with Seiros. Seiros realized that humanity could easily be controlled with the promise of powers. She granted even more power to the Ten Heroes and together with them she defeated Nemesis and the slitherers. The slitherers retreated underground and Seiros became the true ruler of Fodlan by using the Crests as a way to keep humanity in check.
This is the true truth of the past.
