Because same fucking minigames with exact same mechanics got increadibly stale after all these years. You play """new""" Yakuza game and 80% of minigames just rehashed from previous one. It's ok for karaoke when you get new songs but for shit like bowling or darts it's just annoying. Best thing about Y6 is how everything is completely new and feels fresh. Too bad they'll probably rehash shit for years again now.

sega don't make new content, they sell you the same game every couple of months. all they spend money on is celebrity faces. and this celebrity is a singer and they couldn't afford to have him sing in their game.

Because it IS pure trash. It was overhyped when it was niche because that made people feel like they had superior "underground" taste but the truth always was that the games don't sell great because they're not very good.

If Yakuza games were HALF as good as they were hyped up to be they would be the biggest sellers going. But the reality is they're cheap assetflip rehashes full of tedium, braindead combat and are nothing more than glorified VNs. (Which don't even have good writing)

You get the fans of said person interested in the series and potentially have them hop to other games because they have that person in it or because they liked the game with the person they liked so much they wanted to branch out. Look no further than Keanu in Cyberpunk for proof of this, or how about Kojima's stuff as of late. Down the road it might offer a problem if they need to re-release the game like we saw with Onimusha for years (and who knows if 2 or especially 3 will get HD releases), but usually they're not really thinking that far down the line and they'd probably renegotiate if that was the case.

It's just like dating a hostess in the other games except here you don't do the wining and dining at the cabaret. You text her for a bit, meet her at a spot, go play one of three games she likes (Amane for example was shogi, darts, and the casino I think), and then chat with her with the chat either beginning or ending on a continuation of her overarching story. There's also some texting back and forth a couple times before meeting up again. It's basically just an elongated take of hostess dates. Once you either accept or reject the girl at the end you can message her to play at certain minigames, just like in every other game with hostesses.
The DLC is just letting you take Saori out on the town (You can't date her, she just follows you and plays minigames as far as I understand), and the clothes stuff that comes with it just lets you change the girls into their other clothes or new clothes.

All the DLC is overpriced so it's not worth it in the slightest, just a shame you can't get them in regular gameplay. Even the special extracts aren't something you can get.

There's good stories to be had, and Amane's a great girl in particular, so it's worth it for those at least. All of them have some sort of humor, though Nanami's goes pretty serious pretty quickly. They're also only about an hour to an hour and a half each girl with the time you need to wait included into it.
