Prey is no joke one of the better games released in the past decade. Evil Within 2 is OK. Better than the first but still just mediocre. Wolfenstein TNO (the first one) is great, a must play for singleplayer FPS fans, the second isn't anywhere near as good but still worth playing if you liked the first. Virtue signalling has nothing to do with it, that was always a terrible meme (it's just awkwardly paced, the non-linear aspects just don't work, the story it tells is a big circle that comes back to almost perfect status quo and ends where it should have begun, with the START of the American insurrection).

Prey is the best thing to happen to "System Shock / Desu Ex" genre in years, definitely buy it if you like those styles of games.
Like yeah, the enemy variety is low as hell but if you just want to explore a cool space station while having a ton of player agency in a first person perspective game, it's great.
