panzer dragoon saga is a biblical tale where you are the holy spirit guiding the young man who lives between both worlds (panzerse/japanese), Edge and guide the father's hand. Everything in the game is destiny by your hand and divine intervention. You are ultimately the hope given to the doomed, nearly deceased world of panzer dragoon and are simultaneously the reason everyone has the will to go on, down to the developers.
Nier Automata was good too.
Do meta twists count? Then either Raiden in MGS2 or Haythem in Asscreed 3.
I liked Baten Kaitos' twist. The Lava Caves one.
Fucking Yoshimo
I thought he was gonna catch it
Funny as hell, it was the most horrible thing I could think of.
>tfw they don't mean it in a 4th wall kind of way, they actually go out in the real world and their programmer is the last boss
>it's retroactive and changes the lore of the previous games
Dragon's Dogma.
>(wearing fool's hat) it seems your crown outshines my own. (camera cuts to a fool sitting in the throne)
999 gotta be for me
dragons dogma doesn't really have big twists, it's just a solid story
Would you kindly go get your head stepped on by a Big Daddy?
ever17 and Baten Kaitos
>wrong twist
Phantom Pain. The twist at the end where you find out there is no ending, and it's just an unfinished game.
It still hurts, Yea Forums.
This will always be the biggest "oh shit" moment to me. Like fuck man
Not being a hero at all but merely being played like a fool and being used by everyone around you to take over the cursed position of seneschal?
That's a pretty major twist.
>It still hurts, Yea Forums.
one might even say it's a p. bad game.__
I can't imagine what people felt going blind into bloodborne thinking it was just a Van Helsing meets Dark Souls game.
I thought the lovecraftian stuff was not a secret. Then when I played the game I regretted knowing about it.
System Shock 2
