It's not dead but there's nothing to look forward to anymore. The Splatfests will never again unify entire hoards of manchildren under the banner of a cartoon idol to defend some the most absolutely meaningless opinions you could care about. What's worse is I owned Splatoon 1 since launch and between both games I got to experience less than half a dozen Splatfests. I missed out on so much. Yes, I know that this is my own fault. It'll suck to have missed the Splatfests but there's still a ton of content to play especially if you buy Octo Expansion. People are going to be playing it until Splatoon 3 does happen. Hell, some people still play Splatoon 1.
