Asymmetry

Imagine not liking the based Grox

Attached: Grox Pepe.png (282x281, 115K)

I swear they're the most unbased and most retarded species

unironically the most based ally
t. cuck

They're basically the necron but with a bit of skin. Actually, in creature - civilization stages, the spaceships that sometimes visit you are grox ships, indicating they've been around a lot longer than you have. In short, they're tier 3 on the kardashev scale.

Okay, enjoy getting cucked by all your allies fighting each other and asking you to save their planets from raids/ecodisasters. Don't need to worry about that BS with the Grox

A species of incels
They are the wh*Tes of Spore

based species
fight them, ally them, still a good goal

How did they get so fucking powerful anyway

Spore was a fun enough game but I’m still bummed that the original version didn’t pan out

they got the dr pepper dlc

Meeting grox for the first time and realizing how fucking massive they were was really awesome

Steve's bullshit magic probably

>no 8 million eco disaster pop-ups
Cheat

I put eco disaster preventers on my high T planets.
A lot of those are T0 because they were bought from Grox.
(production is still good though due to multiple Grox colonies remaining)

Is there still much of a Spore community?

I made a video of my creature's history (just over 1 GB)
Is there a place to upload anonymously?
Also, share your creatures, Anons!

Attached: Goolingo (14).png (128x128, 25K)

Symmetry is boring, the Grox did nothing wrong

Considering how large their territory is, and the fact that there are several ancient artifacts documenting their existance, I don't think it's a surprise to anyone at all that they've been around longer than the player.

The only fun part was eating cute fish in the early stages of evolution and making them extinct.

Why set off an earthquake when you can just swoop in an fanatically convert them to your Zealot ways? Then you don't even need the trade deal anymore.

youtube.com/watch?v=iwJyP65k2AU

Space stage fucking sucked. You couldn't get anything done because you were constantly being recalled back to your own or allies planets to stop pirates or disasters.
All the other stages were leagues better. I loved them all.

Galactic adventures made it a little bit better

backpack

You should have been able to command an entire fleet of star ships instead of just one
You can send them off and take control of individual ones as needed but also have them work on an autopilot so you dont have to run back halfway across the galaxy to your and your allies star system for every little stupid shit.

Make the autopilot kinda shitty for balance or allow it to be upgraded, or maybe have schools to train other members of your species to fly them. Either way the idea that the entire empire is dependant on one fucking person is retarded, especially since you were playing on a macro level in civilization and tribe.

Was still fun though even with its flaws

Space stage is dumb because it starts super shitty but once you get all the good ship upgrades and can actually fight colonies, and the terraformers, and the eco-disaster preventers, and the defense satellites, it's pretty fun to just explore and shit out new colonies.

was there ever any real use for the hologram in space stage, besides seeing your creature up close once more and/or making wild territorial animals growl at you and attack the hologram in vain?

was cool and was like i was playing a real game

lolno

This is what made me stop playing spore. I thought the space level was going to be like the tribe and civ level. Basically a barebones RTS. Instead its just you and whatever chuckle fucks from your allies join along. It made space exploration slow and not fun.

>you will never ally with the grox and exterminate the rest of the galaxy

Can you even get that nowadays? I hated EA for that, I couldn't get the codes where I was.

i never got past the tutorial stage in space it was so boring

I'm pretty sure you can pirate it. It used to cause major problems with the game (even if you legitimately had the DLC) but since sporepedia is shut down now I don't think it'll happen anymore.

>sporepedia is shut down now
No it isn't.

I wonder if there's some sort of mod for it.
Also Sporepedia isn't shut down, as one sad user on /vp/ found out.

At that point you're better off just putting down Spore after the Civilization stage and recreating your species in a better space 4X game.

i still contempalte reinstalling because its the only game i know where i can put my ideas for OC species into reality.

i cant draw well enough for deviantart

How do you hide the UI?

Spore just needed a real challenge in the game. Like for example no matter how far you'd make it in the game, extinction would always loom around the corner. Imagine having to make your choices for your species wisely because one wrong turn could potentially lead them to there demise.

Am I the only one who loved the tribal stage? I found it really comfy.

>have to name my creature
>can't think of a good name
>have to look up greek words and badly put them together to create the name like i'm a paleontologist
every time

Creature stage was my favorite, personally. Shaping your monstrosity to the image of your liking was always so satisfying. Civilization was a close second though, designing vehicles was always a blast.

they were an incel race

All the stages were great, until you got to Space.

Yeah you didn't really get to design anything in the tribal stage. The scrapped hut editor would've been nice. A tool creator would've also been great.

If you really think about it, they're basically Frieza
>Galactic emperors
>Basically just assholes for no reason other than powerful
>No friends, just allies
>Absurdly stronger than pretty much everyone around them (at least Frieza was during Frieza saga)

Attached: Grox.png (260x327, 123K)

Game was such a let down on all fronts. Every stage was so extremely half baked and the creature creator had no effect on your species' actual performance beyond dictating what percentage of points go to attack or defense.

Pretty entertaining in how fucking evil and asinine they are. I love em

>Spore sucks
>No man's sky suck
Good space game when?

Would you fuck off
Why do you retards have to turn everything into your shitty anime

Space is based, there's so much stuff to do compared to the other ones. Getting new tools and weapons and expanding your empire is really fun. The pirate raids can be solved with uber turrets, and you can reduce eco-disasters with bio-stabilizers and protectors

Look up Transcendence.

Damn, that's impressive.

Creature stage had some good shit
Finding epic creatures and taking them down with your allies
Finding TWO epic creatures and luring them to fight each other.
Flying and stuff too..

Ehh. I liked spore and no mans sky because they had generated animals, plants, and worlds to explore. The problem is is that there is not much else beyond that. I suppose i really meant "good space exploration game with cool animals and stuff but is also fun when?"

Has anyone ever actually killed the entirety of the Grox without cheats?

I made a cargo ship once.

Are there any SS13 related Spore creations? I can't find much and I had to resort to re-painting someone else's toolbox to a more robust blue color.

Attached: Toolbox Blue.png (128x128, 28K)

Does spore have any kind of modding scene? Or I guess, did it used to have one? Played it a shit ton when I was younger and was thinking about reinstalling but don't wanna do the boring shit.

The modding scene is still barebones and limited. Modding the game itself is also a pain.

Yeah, there are some cool mods like Dark Injections which adds a shit ton of parts and other features for the editors, and some other mods that let you do random stuff like playing as giant creatures.

There used to be a whole bunch of decent mods made by Forgotten Spore but i have no idea what happened to them

>decide bi-pedal creature life isn't for me
>take a dive
>out of fucking nowhere a giga beast dives out from the depth, flings me in the air and consumes me, damning my barely existent kin to extinction

Attached: 1563243673545.png (1280x799, 1.12M)

That was such a fucking cop-out. You should have been allowed to explore the other continents if you wanted.

Here's something interesting: The AnimatedAvatars folder contains gifs of your creations being worked on.

Attached: Spore_GIF_2019-07-23_06-27-02.gif (150x150, 145K)

I can understand the blockade as a creature, but not as a tribe. You should've been able to construct a raft, or something basic, in order to raid or increase relations with other tribes, or maybe even relocate entirely.

It's nearly instantaneous once you get to a certain depth from what I remember, I think you can see a fin in the water or something in the distance if you pay attention. I used to like to play chicken with it.

It's a shame the game moves you from the beach so quickly sometimes. Comfiest nest spot, 11/10

If you get level 5 wings you can fly to other continents if you can get a start on a mountain or something.

Like the folder name indicates, it was a neat little thing Maxis put in for the people who would have wanted to have an animated progression of their creations as forum avatars, or such.

it was over a decade ago user

Aren't the other continents completely devoid of life, however?

What are the best traits to get from each stage?

Attached: Angry_MeateBoul2.jpg (466x486, 81K)

Open the console with Ctrl+shift+c and type freedom. This doesn't let you use your creatures in game though.

If you don't want to use chests, then you know how when you put parts aligned in the center of the creature they become one? Well, if you hold down A and click that part, it makes it asymmetrical, which removes complexity even though nothing actually changes visually.
It's not exactly removing the complexity meter, but it's a very useful trick to know.

Just made it to land. Wish the special parts the enemy cells have could be used in the creator.

Could you have limbless senseless little worms running around in the tribal stage and after without being gimped?

Make all the parts that you need be absurdly tiny and hidden behind a bloated limb, eye, or something bigger than the part that gives buffs.

You're a smart guy anyone tell you that user?

Anyone else use the game for insane worldbuilding? Sporepedia still has about half of my written works and creations. The Galactic mission stuff made my worldbuilding explode

Complexity was a shit mechanic, the only cap should have been how much DNA you had.

You're always fucked if you want your creation to have more limbs, or if there's a specific detail you want to spam... or your spine's too long. Sucked.

Ive done a blind worm playthrough on hard before. Tribal combat SUCKS as a worm but you can beat it.

just remember to bribe tribes until theyre neutral and they never bother you.

Try using a a VM?

I'm gonna do it. I'm going to space without changing my appearance at all on a hard world, and only visiting the creator when it tells me to (such as the mating tutorial).

You'll want to get as much done as an early creature before you die or get forced into the first mate. If you can't at least get like a lvl 2 strike before mating you're gonna be hosed.

I hate that the track selection was so limited. Ground vehicles feel gimped compared to all the other editors.

You can, transfer the Appdata file.

I still maintain that Spore's failure wasn't the result of EA's meddling, but Will Wright and Maxis biting off more then they could chew by attempting to do all these different game modes and systems at once.

If a game like Spore were to be attempted today, I think the best way to go about it is to basically make it a trilogy of three seperate games, and do the Mass Effect thing where your world, creature and choices all carry over into the next game. The first part would focus soley on the Cell and Creature stages, the second part would be about the Tribal and Civilization stages, and the last part would entirely be dedicated to the Space stage. Then of course when everything is said and done, they'd all be bundled together as one game and presto.

It'd take awhile but it would at least ensure that all the stages would get the focus and attention that they need, rather than trying to do them all at once and thus resulting everything feeling half baked and shallow.
