Skyrim

Is Skyrim SE worth buying if I already own vanilla Skyrim? I haven't played it in a few years and was thinking about doing another playthrough.

Please no Toddposting.

Not really. It's still the same Skyrim at the end of the day, I only use SE because I got it for free for being a good goy.

I've read a lot of the mods aren't compatible with Skyrim SE. That may not be true anymore though.

Nope. If you want your game to look better just install any of the millions of graphics mods. SE runs worse for me on AMD and I really don't see any improvements.

Just pirate it dude

LE has:
+More mods, without the hassle of porting them like you'd have to for certain mods on SE
+Better looking ENBs. SE doesn't really compete
+Waifu
+More SKSE utility based mods
+Stable Racemenu
+Parallax
+HDT Physics, and mods that use it
+Stable SKSE
+No Creation club or updates

LE also has
-Stability issues. Crashing isn't the biggest offender if you use crash fixes and/or SSME, but low frame rates are if you use mods that take up a lot of draw calls
-If you're playing vanilla, the game looks like shit
-Performance doesn't scale well with better hardware. The difference between a 970 and a 2070 means very little because draw calls will fuck up your shit. CPU wise, you'd be better off using intel for the single core performance that oldrim lives off of, but it won't help much.

SE has
+Okay graphics out the box
+Better frame rates on a heavily modded setup
+Better overall optimization
+- Creation club. It fucking sucks, but at least you can get those mods for free if you know where to look
+.ESL files. Allows a practically unlimited amount of mods. They're a godsend for people who don't feel like merging plugins. It is a bit tedious to do at times.
+Has more up to date mods
+some cut content re-added

SE also has
-SKSE constantly broken because of updates
-Shit ENBs
-Not many good SKSE based mods
-Most abandoned oldrim mods needs to be manually ported if you wish to use them. SKSE based mods need to be rebuilt from scratch
-Some essential mods still aren't ported
-god help you if you try to mod the game on console. The UI sucks, and has a 5gb space limit.

TL;DR
If you're playing vanilla, SE.
Heavily modded? LE.

yes it is worth it
>better lighting
>better perfomance
>64 bit client
>better water
>better textures
>dynamic shadows
but to my taste... I like basic edition more...Just old lighting is so comfy even tho its just a blue filter over everthing but I spent good time in that game so I feel nostalgic about it
New lighting is like a completly new game

Why do so many games have this ugly "orange" atmosphere to it. That isn't how real life looks.

>Skyrim

the game came out 8 years ago

Do video games have expiry dates?

And there is still nothing like it and even if its the worst TES game nothing else comes close to how it feels when you RP in it

If you plan to mod it and really go balls deep then it's worth it, SE is MUCH more stable than non-SE. Don't listen to the faggots who already modded their oldrim and now refuse to switch to SE. SE is superior in every way and form.

yes, everything has even air, the universe

it does during dust/sand storms or places that are heavily polluted

Do expiration dates have expiration dates?

I’d argue SE doesn’t need an ENB due to the overhauled lighting

Fuck skyrim. Play any of the previous ones, you'll enjoy it more

I wouldn't say everything has even air. I mean, surely if there was even air in everything, then we wouldn't need air tanks when diving

I have played them all.

Morrowind completely destroyed this series. Nothing can compare to Daggerfall.

Daggerfall is a fucking meme

This. Daggerfall is fun. Way more enemy variety, spell variety, and there's nips.

Is The VR version worth playing at all? I got a VR already.

It's a lot more stable and can handle more mods.

When will Skyrim come to gog?

Never played Skyrim. But... Pic on the left looks better. Why? Isn't that the older version?

With a few mods, you can do all those things and more. I like Oblivion the best, but modded Skyrim is very compelling, and you are missing out on what modders have been able to do.

Where can I pirate nowadays? I put my eyepatch and hook away a long time ago

Daggerfall was the pinnacle of Elder Scrolls.

Did you get shit on by a rat or have you never played it?

Daggerfall and Morrowind are both fucking memes. They're good games but you're just being a contrarian for Yea Forums gamer cred if you say they're better games than Skyrim.

>listing nips as a selling point
>implying anyone is going to be playing skyrim without nude mods

Yes. I am lvl 30 already and no sign of stopping. Get a few mods to make the female characters more attractive, of course.

>Buy
Didn't you get it for free in PC?

piratebay has both versions with tons of seeders

Ambition wise yes but the execution is off, I like to an extent, experimenting, getting lost in the nothingness and fuck around but its a mess dude.

Skyrim is hollow and soulless. Fuck you RPGlet.

it only happens in the early morning hours. and in places with lots of trees it looks really nice, at least in-game. what i like best are the touched up textures in the dungeons, the carved designs on the walls are clearer.

I missed the window where they were giving it for free. It was only a limited time thing.

>can't explain why they're better without using Yea Forums buzzwords
yeah like I said you're just a contrarian looking to impress your anonymous peers

Not that guy but daggerfall definitely has way more character than Skyrim. The variety of enemies is already something it beats skyrim on. You literally just fight dragons and draugr and nigger mutt bandits in skyrim.

I just want to play Morrowind. My first TES was oblivion, and I loved it. I wish I had more time to play vista, sigh. So many games I want to experience

Is TES online still shit

FitGirl is best and safest IMO

How the fuck

It always was?

they are a large group of procedurally generated textures floating through the otherwise empty towns that perform no role other than to spoonfeed you answers to your questions after you pester them enough thats all. there are no more than 15 unique phrases in that fucking game and maybe a hundred variants of those 15 phrases, thats how there are over a thousand "characters" in one area, thats how there is more landmass than several countries even

Are there any noteworthy SE exclusive mods?

It runs worse for a game that looks worse than the original plus the fucking store is irritating. Gotta update mods every time they release something new

Does SE run above 60 FPS?

Not really, the only thing SE adds is the Creation Club, which is explicitly designed not as a club of creators (you can't join it unless you're a Bethesda employee) but as a club to bash the shit out of third party mods, especially any that rely on SKSE.
