i prefer the xbone controller

Switch pro

PS2 controller.

>tfw hating every controllers right now
some do almost everything great but there's always 1 problem that makes it unacceptable

I hope next gen brings some interesting controllers.

I fucking love my Switch pro but I'd rather it stays paired to my Switch.
Are the PDP or any other third party ones good?

No
Buy another switch pro

Depends what you're playing desu. DS4 is best for 2d platformers and fighting games, Xbone is probably the best all around option though. If you're a degenerate who uses a controller for PC shooters, Wii U pro is your best bet.

Fuck no nigger

Xbone. Xbone elite if you have money.

DS4 is the best all around when it comes to PC. It has full support with steam and works out of the box. Easy to pair and steam picks it up instantly. You can also use DS4windows which gives you more customization option than any other controller out there. Downfalls of the x1 controller on the pc is the xbox logo is bright af and you can't turn it off, you have to get the newer controller with BT support and if you're playing a game like cuphead which needs the dpad is literally the worst fucking thing in the world.

>DS4 is best for 2d platformers and fighting games
this fucking meme needs to die

>recommending Xbone elite trash
youtube.com/watch?v=6Gzj0f9SrBs
Go with ds4 op. Don't trust a company that sells trash for that price. You can find a ds4 for about $40 anywhere.

Why do you guys like the DS4 pad? It's mushy and the segments feel strange. I need my loud clicks.

xbone
>build quality, compatability, comfortable, all rounder
>batteries, no gyro
ds4
>versatile (gyro / extra buttons), marginally less input lag (than xbone), better shoulder buttons
>limited out of the box compatability, cheaper feeling (compared to xbone), poor battery life

Limited experience with switch pro. It has very nice feeling dpad and face buttons, essentially an xbone with gyro and no out of the box support on pc.
I use xbone for most games, and anything more dpad focused, emulation or dark souls I use ds4.

right now I actually like it because I've used too many controllers with inaccurate d-pads (I'm looking at you both switch and 8bitdo)

as shit as the PS4 d-pad is, it a least does what I tell it to

>build quality
The plastic edges are always cutting into my skin and the lines are all uneven. tf are you even on about build quality? Feels like a kids toy.

sounds like you didn't get the official one

They are all kids toys user, but I think the major factor is that the plastic isnt gloss and smooth like a ds4, and the weight.

Talking about 8bitdo, does anyone own the Sega Genesis M30? I need there's a guy constantly saying to wait for the retrobit "pro" version of the genesis controller with sticks, but I got their clear blue one and the dpad wasn't clicky enough.

midi keyboard

It came with the console you shill.
look at the bottom of the handles where the plastic meets together into like a corner almost. Tell me they aren't completely uneven and protruding into a sharp edge. Same goes for the rest of the plastic on the controller. It definitely has a higher tolerance level for build quality than DS4 does.

>he owns an xbone
hahaha

DualShock4
install DS4Windows for the Xbone compatibility in the superior DS4 shape

ds4

DS4 if you just wand a standard controller.
I personally love the Steam Controller though and would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind some tinkering.

I own it all user. Your point? I'm not a broke loser.

I built my pc without blue tooth capability
How do I get a ds4 remote to work on it?

Attached: 1549356567437.jpg (720x715, 55K)

With the cable you idiot.

Wirelessly tho of course

Enloops are pretty damn amazing in my xbone. Last twice as long as duracell.

why not?

buy a cheap $10 bluetooth usb dongle

those are pretty shit but it's good enough for a controller

that aside DS4 battery is so garbage that I've given up on using it wireless (although DS4 is dumb has worse input lag when wired, the microusb connector is also garbage, especially on older controllers and may randomly let up)

>has a chance to not get cancer
>chooses to get cancer

I have the elite controller, it will fall apart after a couple of months and the DS4 is just straight up better in every conceivable way, especially if you have bluetooth.

Switch pro triggers are ass, unless you like them digital.

..but well, I fixed that by just taping the wire to the controller so it doesn't move

not that I use that controller anymore, it seen quite a lot of use and getting finnicky (I had to increase the deadzone on the R2 trigger)

I use a 15 dollar Hori Switch Pro controller. It's actually pretty fucking comfortable too. The DPAD is absolute 360-tier anus though.

How long do they last? Last time I looked up xbone battery life I got numbers anywhere from 18-50 hours.

All smooth here.

It's the only current gen controller with d-pad and buttons on the same level.

also, those wired problems don't happen on PS4 because PS4 uses it wireless even when wired (essentially it only use the wire for charging)

How long have you had it? The left stick on mine went out in a week, apparently it's really common.

amazon.com/Bluetooth-Receiver-Transfer-Wireless-Keyboard/dp/B0775YF36R/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=bluetooth adapter&qid=1563914612&s=gateway&sr=8-3

Months and months with no issues? I guess I got lucky, I didn't even know that was an issue.

>common issue
answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/xbox-one-controller-with-sharp-edges/8ec916d0-7f31-41de-981f-d20ca66cf3de

To reuse this thread, whats a mouse & keyboard that will give me:
>good function while gaming
>good form for my tortured wrists
>good durability and i won't need to replace it within a year
>won't make me feel bad every time i remember how much i paid

My Microsoft Sculpt set that my employers got me is dying, the left mouse click is getting annoying and the keyboard randomly decides to take a 2 second nap. I need replacements.
Doesn't need to be wireless, I've already switched to my very out wired mouse in the last few weeks, makes no difference.

At 6 hours a day, duracell last me about 5 days. Enloops are on it's 6 day and my battery notification says it's still about half full.

I actually really like this. Sitting down and learning all the various customization for it can be a bit daunting but once you do you can basically configure it for anything. I just finished setting up a config for Star Trek Online using custom icons for a radial menu.

Is there any guide on how to get a random no-name controller to work?

Windows recognizes it but most games won't.
Had no idea I'd be wasting so much time on this crap.

Attached: 1310067287003.jpg (251x242, 12K)

Didnt know this thanks

That's great user. But you just told to feel up my controller. Mine's smooth.

on linux I'd be able to tell you how to make it appear like a xinput controller, but on windows I have no idea

I'd imagine there's something similar though

>tfw just finished a config for ETS2 and ATS now that they have full Steam Controller support
pretty fucking comfy

Attached: 1561782867224.png (866x1023, 813K)

If you're using steam try checking this setting.

Attached: Annotation 2019-07-23 164919.png (631x320, 92K)

get joytokey

Thatll work for a ds4?

That's good for you user. But considering every x1 controller I've played with has had this issue even ones at stores I'm going to not believe you.

Nigger any bluetooth adapter will work. This isn't like the x1 controller where you had to buy a $50 wireless adapter.

heard you talking about good pc controllers

Attached: F310.png (1410x1234, 1.76M)

DS4 uses bluetooth 2.1 which is pretty ancient (and newer versions are backward compatible), that particular dongle is 4.0, not that I've used it

well, technically not ANY.. but well those aren't sold anymore really

The only good things about it are the d-pad and the button to swap d-pad and stick.

The triggers on this thing suck for racing games. D-pad is decent though.

xbox one dpad > ps4 dpad

Wow, this actually worked in like 2 minutes. Thanks.

I swear I wasted hours fucking around with 5 other programs.

Using my Switch Pro which does the job nicely.
How is that second revision of the Xbox Elite looking? Never used the original.

No

Level thumbs > offset thumbs

x1 would be better off without a dpad thats how shit it is.

refer to and see if you'd ever trust spending that much on a controller.

DS3

quite a disappointment really, I kinda always wanted it but all those reports go beyond that 1 guy with either bad luck or misuse

hopefully the newer one is better but I'll be waiting a long time before considering it

Attached: pcgamepads.jpg (1200x1444, 394K)

what are these extra meme buttons

Fuck no just get a new xbox controller. I use mine for racing and games like witcher and ass creed

I get the gyro and touchpad but how the fuck do PC games take advantage of the light bar?

>tfw you use the DS4 trackpad as an additional 6 buttons
depending on where I touch it, it registers as keyboard presses (a,b,c,d,e,f)

it's not as responsive/good as the other buttons but it's good enough for shortcuts like opening different menus, switching weapon, etc...

>tfw if the Switch Pro had analogue triggers for Gamecube emulation and a slightly better dpad it would be perfect

Attached: 1532148273_88f55c1cca3a7f905b549fb9568ed06d1531c3c8_hq[1].gif (500x453, 338K)

Xbox. It's cheaper than the Switch controller, and works better on Windows than the DS4.

.t have owned and used all three

>no gyro

Why is "lightbar" not in red text?

PS Button, Touchpad, Share and Options are bindable on a DS4 pad
an Xbox pad will only let you bind Start and Back.

Turn it off if you don't like it. You can't even turn off the bright as fuck Xbox logo on an Xbox pad, so I don't know what you're trying to suggest.

I don't know of any games in particular that use the lightbar, but for DS4Windows I have mine set up so the lightbar will change colour depending on what profile is active.
If you're using a controller on PC you NEED to have multiple profiles for different eras of PC gaming. Just plugging in an Xbox controller gives you terrible compatibility with PC games that don't specifically support Xbox pads. You need a profile for Xinput and a profile for DInput. There is a logitech pad that can do this, but it's a shit controller. Steam controller can't do it, Nintendo controllers require third party tools to behave exactly the same as an Xbox controller (so exact same poor compatibility that Xbox pads have) and chink shit is irrelevant

Therefore, the DS4 is the only choice for using a controller on PC, unless you're a gigaboomer who has a ton of old Sidewinder and Logitech pads laying around that old PC games will expect. Even then, once the novelty wears off you're still using cheap gamepads instead of one decent one.

>tfw you're lighting up the room by making the PS4 lightbar beat to the music you're playing
does that count as a +?

I know this is a little late but do not go switch anything they are digital triggers. Dont fucking use a ps4 with a program. I dont own an xbone but my xbox1 controller is God mode for everything. Triggers are amazing for trigger control on racing games

This man is right.

Also the fucking triggers on both the switch (digital trash) and ps4 (shit trigger response)

it's also possible to use the headphone jack from DS4 on PC nowadays

I don't really need it myself but could come in handy for some

joy2key is fucking retarded, why use controller if it doesn't use analog movement, just download x360ce and "emulate" 360 controller

I want this bad boy

Attached: 9DAC761F-7D89-4E9C-95EE-B6552A4D70D4.jpg (500x385, 25K)

They're all good and work with next to no effort nowadays. My perfect controller would be a DS4 with Xbone sticks and triggers

I will say Sekiro became a bit of an eye opener for me in terms of realising controller responsiveness. Whilst the Bone's d-pad and bumpers may feel nice; the tactile and clickyness of them was definitely a hindrance due to the pressure required for actuation in comparison to the DS4. I noticed an immediate improvement swapping to the DS4.

I'm gonna use the Bone's for casual games and DS4 for responsiveness

I have a Crystal see through PS4 controller I got mostly for emulating. It was free since I got $50 for getting an Amazon Credit card.

Fits in my hand better and its slimmer than an xbox controller.

>tfw no proper controller will ever have the vita's d-pad
I used to be full of hope about the DS4 potentially using it

nigger what, I've played thousands of pre2005 with my XB1 controller and never had any compatibility issues

The saddest thing is that prototype DS4s had a d-pad that looks very similar to the Vita one.

Honestly, it's almost incredibly how good that D-Pad is, outside of being a bit too small it's S tier stuff.
Real shame the DS4 is not even remotely comparable, or any other first party controller D-Pad in the last decade really.

anons i found the solution

Attached: IMG_20190723_233509__01.jpg (2176x3427, 1.43M)

>never had any compatibility issues
Yes, you have. Open up joy.cpl with your controller plugged in. Notice how
a) your analog stick doesnt reach the far corner
b) you can't push both triggers at once
