I think you keep losing and restarting. No idea why people want this, I actually want more slots because I want to use more of the characters I love.

You have to go into a solo rift with that character on you team in any slot but the one on the far left. Loose, quit, and go back to the hero select screen and see your duplicate. To add more, swap your first player slot with another character on that team and repeat the solo rift.
You do it for the quad xp dooder.
