You need to realize that many of the people excited for classic are over 30 and don't invest time or interest in twitch. We know who asmondgold and tips are, but we're not playing because of them. We're playing because we're nostalgic, also 15 bucks a month is literally less than half an hour of work for a lot of us. Hopefully classic is small and tight knit in the long run, and all the young people and fotm stream fans move on and we can have our game back.

What, you don't like having only one viable build with every class, shamans and paladins wearing cloth armor and only healing in raids, everyone being a warrior (only tank) and undead rogues everywhere?

I think you need to understand that they're not going to get back even 1/4th of that playerbase they had when WoW was a juggernaut there were literally no games to compete with it.

How long do you think it will be before 100 or so of those people get into a guild and realize, hey, as long as at least 40% of us log on once or twice a week we can go do MC or BWL? There are going to be hyper casual guilds with no attendance requirement full of boomers with jobs and children that take six months to get to 60 and another six months to clear MC, and they're going to have fun doing it.

I personally enjoyed it, but I also acknowledge others did not. I did, admittedly, get my good legendaries super early in the expansion so my opinion may have been kind of skewed.

Honestly, as a whole expansion Cata wasn't that great, but Tier 11 was the funnest raid tier I ever remember raiding. All the boss mechanics fit the flavor of the encounters, the boss dialogue was entertaining, the bosses fit with the atmosphere of the venues and it was really nice on raid night when you had 3 places to choose from starting. And it was a blast at the end of the raid someone would pop their last relic of argus and then mass summon everyone just for shits and giggles.

Although honestly I liked those 3 heroics for the last tier. Even if the storyline was dumb as fuck. But in my mind, looking back at WoW I kind of make a dividing line. Pre 4.2 and Post 4.2. Abyssal Maw was when Blizzard started cancelling promised content left and right and just not giving a fuck about the end user experience. And coincidentally that's also around when subs started tanking.

Wrath has way more cut content that Cata.

I think the 3.1 to 3.2 patch was a bigger line. It was the first time a new raid tier 100% invalidated the previous tier completely and thoroughly. Throughout all of Vanilla, and BC there was always something from a previous tier that was BiS, or at the very least the previous tiers were easier so you could start with them then move up to the later ones. ToC gave away 245 gear from lootbag bosses and no trash, making Ulduar's 226 gear and 239 hard mode gear completely obsolete. They even had to buff the healer legendary to 245 because at 239 most people were ready to just say "sorry, not worth dragging the guild to Ulduar for a few months for one minor upgrade for one person."

I would unironically play Pandas over again if Classic Pandas ever happened solely to see the Vale restored.

I'd wager with more time and the modern phasing technology they could have an NPC that would let you see the restored Vale.

Yeah but WoTLK had way more delivered content than Cata. So that makes it more forgivable by comparison. And if a hundred people here tell you they raided original Naxx 99 of them are lying according to the statistics. So it was new content for nearly everybody.
