What the fuck is going on with the PS3 store at the moment? Not a single game is coming up on sale at the moment...

PS3 still has a significant playerbase. Even some games that have ports in current gen still have people playing online. The store still gets sales but not as much. The reason to keep it besides exclusives was that video games were being sold huge discounts a year and more ago.

I literally just asked Sony about it and in full robot mode they said "duuur here is a link to all current sales" and its just PS4 stuff. They evade the actual question so hard. See this? Those games are ALWAYS £7.99. They have been sat there in the "deals" section for 2 months now. Literally not a single game is reduced any more, not one.

I play my PS3 even more than my PS4, also get a bunch of games used for dirty cheap. Played Riddick Escape from butched bay recently and now I am enjoying Deus Ex Human Revolution, pretty based console desu.

I still play on PS3. I don't own a PS4 and see no reason to. The selection of games on PS4 isn't worth much compared to the PS3. Some games are even re-releases. Some times I wonder if its Sony astroturfers pushing the "PS3 is old" meme to guilt trip anons into buying a PS4 out of FOMO.

Personally stopped using every console stores after they introduced the web one and always worked great. Especially since they updated the PS3 store around that time (from something that wa working great to sluggish nonsense).

Used the web one for all the ps4 and vita stuff too. PS4 is especially well integrated with it (aka it knows right away to download things).

They still get periodic sales, there was a big one in June where I bought Drakengard 3 from for 9.99, publishers probably forget to put stuff on sale or they don't even bother since with all the hacking and nodding going around who the fuck even cares.

They may shutdown the console store, but it won't stop you from buying PS3 games. You can still buy digital games on PSP even though its store is dead.

The web store is going to be long lived since it also work for newer consoles.

That aside, delisting is an entirely different deal that could happen anytime on any digital store (physical as well for what it's worth, but previous copies continue circulating).

Once a publisher lose the right to sell a game, the immediate result is that it's removed from every digital stores (because it's simply illegal), often to never show up again.

You can still download those games if you bought it (unless the store is absolute cancer -- I think xbox does that sometimes), but good luck if you didn't buy it before then, piracy is the only way.

It's true, racing games are usually the ones getting axed first because not only they have licensed cars but also music.
Try browsing the 360 or PS3 stores for Gran Turismo, Forza or Need For Speed, you won't find shit besides maybe the nfs games that had current gen versions.

I'm not. Some titles are only available through physical now. Latest I can recall is Tales of Symphonia getting delisted.

I don't even have a good PC but some friends of mine do(My PC can barely play youtube vids and at 1080p). Some of the games don't run well enough on it(Textures load up too slow when I played GR2, Spider-Man). Only reason why I got a PS4 is because of a few titles I wanted along with some I missed out on.

If they kill the store (of course, the web store will stay) they'll probably use the occasion to remove everything else they can. Likely only leaving game download and patching support. Otherwise it'll probably stay together with it, doesn't really need maintenance unless they change the entire system.

Wouldn't surprise me if they make PS5 trophies a separate thing too, a reset would be more welcoming to new users (it also leave all the PS3/Vita trophy cheating in containment)

DS3 is prone to drifting. I've had it happen with controllers right out of the box. I have 2 and both of them drift, both after being sent to warranty for drifting

Do you dust it regularly? Maybe get one of those PC canned air sprays so you can clean the inside of it too.
And if it still not solved with this I'd say get a backup ps3 before it's too late.

I dust it as often as I can. Haven't gotten a chance to get more dust spray. Weirdest thing is, I can play PS1 and PS3 games just fine, but with PS2 games it cuts off after 10-30 mins.

Today's tuesday and funky stuff happens on the PSN store on tuesdays while the online store updates stuff. Or if you mean in general, there's a couple games on sale periodically but very little focus on PS3 games anymore, godspeed my good buddy.

Can you at least search for specific ones? On the xbox you have to endlessly scroll down to find a specific game achievement list which at that point its just better to use an external 3rd party tracker like true achievements.

I'm pretty sure it's the same shit on playstation. Probably them and xbox have been using their interface for years. They'll only care about improving navigation for the online storefronts because it makes them money.

Even funnier is that most of the best games on the PS4, are literal PS3 games developed for the PS3 and also available on the PS3.
Bloodborne and then later Spider-Man really always were the sole titles that ever even made me ask the question of whether or not a PS4 would be worth it. It's just not enough though, especially with all the atrocious PS+ bullshit that modern Sony have been pushing hard this entire generation.

The deals section hasn't worked for about 3 years now, use the website on a laptop and it will work properly.

Sales wise it's been bombing for sure and the whole memory card fiasco really, really made a mess of things. But even it has more unique games to it than the PS4, even after the PC and now also Switch has been bleeding its games hard ever since Sony dropped Vita's support.
But yeah the Vita isn't a stellar Playstation but I would indeed rank it above the PS4.
