I believe think the erebonia arc jumped the shark for this series. honestly, Crossbell had many of the same faults but at least it didn't go full light novel mode on us then piss all over everything the previous games built up.
I curious to see if the calvard will move away from the cold steel-isms but I'm doubtful and we'll never know since kondo want cold steel to be the persona of kiseki's SMT and hijack it completely to the point of nonexistence.

As much as Lloyd is a typical dense harem protagonist, at least he had a nice little 'JUSTICE' trait, didn't completely prevent male and female cast members from interacting, and didn't have a million special snowflake traits like having demonic powers or a special mech.
hopefully kondo's gotten all the self-insert trash out of his system with rean and we can get back to having good protagonists again. i'm not as down on kiseki as most people are, i've even found things to like about sen, but future protagonists need to be way more down-to-earth than rean was.
