The first games are consistently very good. ODST and Reach are hit-or-miss depending on how much you like the changes. 4 was decent. 5 is so shit, holy fuck. Doesn't even have co-op.

Halo 1 by far. Same reason MGS1 is the best MGS. The simple self contained Die-hard style plot of being stuck in one location (Installation 04 and Shadow Moses respectively) works really well

They both had pretty good cinematography in scenes and atmosphere. The campaigns fell flat once Staten moved onto different projects. 3 had some of his influence, but Reach became such a shitshow when it comes to writing. At least it isn't as bad when compared to 4 or 5.

Drones at least fly, the first time you fight Skirmishers they sprinkle them around with Grunts, they later give them sniper rifles like a Jackal, and then they give them shields like a Jackal, why do they even exist?
