>game has a cliff
>test if there's invisible walls
>it does
Why won't game devs just let me jump?
Game has a cliff
>Do the same

Try Jumping
ok now what
>game ensures you can't jump off anywhere with either fences or invisible walls
>upgrade your car so it has a jump function and it jumps higher than you
>jump over a fence into a ravine
>suddenly gives a tutorial on how BIG JUMPS are scored and starts going in slow motion
>keep falling into the ravine slowly
>game over screen comes up
They're aware that we all have within us the urge to jump even if reason tells us not to. Such is the terror granted by freedom...
>Game has wooden doors.
>Indestructible wooden doors.
>In a game with flamethrowers, saws, nukes...
It’s called The Painful for something. But is worth it, what a kino game
Because bad players/casuals might accidentally fall off once or twice. That is not allowed.
I personally like invisible walls because it stops monsters from killing themselves taking their loot with it.
>tfw end up taking hits on purpose to reduce chances of monsters falling
Yeah. Just don't play Joyful.
>Game has a waterfall
>Nothing behind it but rock
shame couldn't go down all the way
The worst is when monsters can't fall, but loot can. And of course it explodes out of the monsters in all directions. And bounces a few times before coming to a stop. Also you can't pick it up until it has finished moving, so no hope of catching it before it's lost. but you'll still try every time.
Even worse.
>There's a mechanic where waterfalls open paths (Freeze them and climb them, climb the rock behind, etc)
>Big portion of the map that can hold a dungeon or two; only the waterfall between them.
>Cut due to budget/time.
Looking at you, Soul Reaver 2
>Loot falls on lava
Try tongue, but hole.
This has to happen sometimes. There can't always be a secret behind a waterfall or it becomes less special.
>after a few hours of farming a boss
>see the legendary drop
>it bounces off of something and flies off the cliff
For the love of everything, please script where loot goes, or something. Anything but look that reacts to physics, especially retarded physics.
>you can actually travel to the lands down below
>takes a while but finally get there by going through another area and traversing a cave
>the loot is still there
Yeah alot of games would be more fun\challenging if they actually let you fall off the level. I hate when im fighting enemies on a ridge and there is a invisible barrier. What the fuck is the point of being there in the first place then?
>area looks just barely reachable with a very long jump
>spend an hour trying to get there, failing by a few units each time
>discover new movement tech with the game's physics engine
>jump out with momentum that should easily reach it
>invisible wall stops you slightly further than natural jumping distance
