They're all fairly fun if you enjoy Wonderboy style adventure games. People will tell you they are metroidvanias, but that's not really accurate.

Pirates Curse is easily the best, but it abandons the transformation gimmick which is a big part of the series. Still I highly recommend this one, as most will

Half Genie Hero goes full linear platformer but keeps the backtracking so it's the weakest, but still a fun titles (especially with all the extra dlc modes). If you really want an adventure game with a transforming protagonist, your time is better spent with the recent Monster Boy: Cursed Kingdom

it's meh, each game has really stupid design decisions and certain elements take a back seat every single time.
>GBC makes bullshit decisions like the camera being WAY too close to Shantae, leading to leaps of faith in a game with instant death obstacles, along with a really tedious central mechanic
>RR is way too short and ideas are never really fleshed out because of it
>PC does the series the best LITERALLY because it drops the game's central mechanic in favor of something that actually works
>HGH goes back to the formula, but adds too many transformations with no depth to them, story takes a massive back seat, the game is way too easy, and the non-DLC content is just kinda dull(the DLC is too, but it at least gives you enough to feel like you justified spending too much money on this game)
honestly I don't recommend buying any of them(go crazy if you feel like pirating Pirate's Curse, since that's the only good one), and since it's held up by the fanservice and all that, you can save yourself the trouble and just look at fanart since fans will be much more gratuitous than WF will ever be.
