It's a very easy question to answer. This is because NGE is not a commercial or easy-to-consume work, and although at first it seems somewhat superficial with giant robot battles with monsters, it has its layers and becomes complex and difficult to access even to their own audience, as a result, as we can see above, people refuse to think for themselves and have the least time to interpret such a work and draw their conclusions (no one is obliged to like this anime, but have to acknowledge that was one of the most important and most influential anime ever made in Japan), so they say NGE is overated or shit like that (good argument btw), so you don't have the popularity to sell a game ( which nowadays costs a lot more than a movie or anything else) and it's easier to make a nanatsu game on taizai or online swort art that is sure the anime audience will buy.

NGE is one of those things were I like it in theory and understand it well enough but just don't find the actual content fun.

It really isn't, that is precisely what he is on about. They made a reasonable point-and-click adventure out of it, but that is probably the one genre where you can make a game out of any source material.
Blade Runner, at least the movie, does not lend itself well to almost any kind of gameplay.

The chocking is pretty fucking god damn obvious given that it is a call-back to an earlier scene.

As for the "kimochi warui" line: it's literally there to troll the shit out of people and intentionally end up on an ambiguous note. It wasn't even supposed to be there. I don't quite remember what the original line was supposed to be, but the actress felt really uncomfortable with it and could not get it right, so Anno asked her what she would feel more fitting given the previous (and rather emotionally exhausting) set of takes, during which, at one point, the actress playing Shinji actually physically assaulted her.

"kimochi warui" was what Asuka's actress instantly blurted out, and Anno fucking loved it, mostly becase of the fucking trolling dimension of it.

Why do people like Eva again?
In theory I should love it since I love a lot of the stuff that inspired Eva (Ideon, Baldios, Gundam, Devilman) and a lot of the stuff that were inspired by Evangelion (Brain Powerd, Utena, Fafner, RahXephon) but Evangelion is one of the dumbest things I've ever watched.

It has a lot of very impressive, or at least interesting elements.
A character-driven and psychology-driven stories are very rare in anime in general, and Eva goes around doing it in a fairly ingenious way, especially considering the target audiences.
It has also very good and distinct art style, pacing, music, and the production values are for the most part pretty fantastic. It's (mostly) very competently directed, with a whole bunch of very memorable imagery (again, it is really important not to under-estimate the importance of the art style) and takes some pretty bold risks to get it's points across.
The characters are memorable (again, psychological depth is not something you usually get in anime).
It has very distinct and times pretty awesome work with music too.

In general, it has very distinct atmosphere and characters that tend to stick with you very strongly.

It's interesting you complain about Eva but then go on saying you liked RahXephon. Because that show was god fucking attrocious, one of the best examples of "if two people do the same thing, they don't end up with the same product" I've ever seen. Granted, I'm not THAT much of an anime buff, but RahXephon may be the most pretentious and misguided "let's try to recreate the success of Eva" I have ever seen.
It had the total of TWO good moments. And they were completely out of any context to the boot.

From the top of my head: Any story by Kawabata or Ibuse or Fowles or Dostojevski or Checkhov or Gorki.
Again: I genuinely love Eva, it has an important place in my heart, but the characters, while better than most anime characters (this is not a gripe against anime, mind you - it's just not a psychologically oriented school of media) - but it has major flaws. The characters still have an issue of switching between having depth and being basically a cardboard cut-out of one-dimensional concept. There are entire chains of episodes where their behavoir is inconsistent (the flip between the more serious and the light-hearted episodes is often very, very jarring). There is too much repeat of the same character gimmick too.
Again: for a show made mainly for 12-16 years old boys this is still pretty fucking good.

But pick up virtually any classic character-focused literature and you'll find better characters.
Eva is far more interesting in the ways it communicates those characters, than in the characters themselves.

They really don't. One of Eva's running themes is that the characters' personalities are always "in play" even when the theme of the scene would suggest otherwise.

This scene plays out like a lighthearted anime fanservice scene, but it really isn't, if you paid attention.
