There was a map in CS1.6 that I really loved called leetskeet where the Ts all had knives only and launched out of a cannon at the start. The Cats were trapped in a small building and all had scouts, so the T's goal was to take evasive maneouvers through the air to attack the building and the CTs just tried to shoot them out of the air.

Too many to count. However, one that always stuck out was a Halo reach map that was like assassins creed, in the sense it was a city with a bunch of buildings and paths. One person would be the assassin, and you'd chase all the other players in a cat and mouse kinda mode. It sounds gay but the map was designed well, like REALLY well, there were so many alleyways and mix ups, verticality, etc. Of course I'm jaded as fucked because it was with my teenage friends so it's most likely worse than I remember.

Warcraft 3, the battle for middle earth/War of the Ring was a really fun strategy tug-of-war. You got heroes and didn't have any base-building really, you upgraded your city with gold you got over time, and could build defensive structures. It was all about positioning, using your troops and heroes at the right time because you'd lose them and had to wait for more to spawn(troops) and heroes were lost forever.

I loved playing Gondor, protecting the lands of men from the Orcs.
