I did not know I wanted this. Also Gundam X base form is sexy as hell.

There is no Gundam X in SRW X.
And there is no Victory Gundam in SRW V.

Massive disappointment.

Somebody pinch me because I'm completely amazed here.

Doesn't this series barely ever even get english releases?

>Just bought V on PS4
Fuck

last few have had english/asia releases

basically they have english in addition to japanese/chinese or just chinese because asia specifically snubs downloadable titles, I assume the english ones are aimed at singapore who speak alot of english

Starting from SRW V, now it will get English translations. Only most OG games got them, but since V, all games with trademarked shows like Gundam, Getter and Mazinger finally get translations. Official ones to boot.

Basically SRW V was first mainline game to get official english release, via English Asia loophole of sort. Before it was SRW OG MD, which was first English Asia release and opened the possibility for all of them, despite being not really great translation.
So these new english releases (SRW OG MD, SRW V, SRW X, SRW T) still are not western releases.
Before that there was 3 official western english releases aka SRW OG 1 and 2 for GBA via Atlus, and SRW OG Endless Frontier spinoff for DS.

That's about it official wise, for the rest people were relying on fan translation or just playing them in japaneses.
This series is about 28 years old, and amount of games there is fuck huge.

It'll be region locked on steam anyway.

>Aimed a Singapore.
That is what they want the trademarkers to think, is actually a loophole that allow them to sell games to the west without the licenses nightmare.

>Steam
Wait, how this avoids the licensing hell? Or is only in the Singaporean steam (which means you would have to change your steam country)?

Someone should pay for this transgression.

Probably that.
How they'll deal with it precisely we'll see on example with SD Gundam G Gen Crossrays in november

Moon Dweller's translation being "not really great" is quite an understatement. It somehow makes less sense than a machine translated literal translation would. It's just... odd.

After that disaster the devs looked into outsourcing to someone who actually speaks english, and found a certain dra-mata and friends. That partnership was unfortunately shortlived and translation was moved to an inhouse team afterwards, which worked out ok too.

Also I'm still mad about Endless Frontier 2 not getting a translation. The first game's localization was great (except for getting one name horribly wrong) and I'd loved to see more of it.

Who cares about SRW? Where the fuck is new Queen Blade game?

I mean actual game not that mobile shit

>Also I'm still mad about Endless Frontier 2 not getting a translatio
It's almost fan translated tho.
Patch will be out this or next year.
>Moon Dweller's translation being "not really great" is quite an understatement. It somehow makes less sense than a machine translated literal translation would. It's just... odd.
I heard it is getting better the later in story you get. And still, it's better than nothing.
Before OG MD, you had to rely on few and between translation projects. And watch 65% to never change.
But yeah, translations since MD improved drastically.

How's the gameplay in x and v?
I've played alpha gaiden and portable A and the gameplay was so boring I ended up dropping both games despite loving mechs

Easy as fuck as any modern SRW.
Still enjoyable tho.
If you didn't like those games, you won't like any new ones either tho.

That awful Unlimited OVA killed it.

That's a bit of a shame, might still make for a comfy game to chill out with, if the price is right I'll probably still get it

...

so you saying videogame news don't belong on Yea Forums, got it

Since when do we discuss vidya on Yea Forums faggot?

Since always, you just visit shit threads

>That partnership was unfortunately shortlived and translation was moved to an inhouse team afterwards, which worked out ok too.

How so? Dramata and co did the entire T main game and even the expansion, so signs point they’re still in with Bamco.
Or did something come up recently?

I think dude is talking out of their ass.
I know that Dramata and co didn't do the all work, considering amount of text it's understandable, but they still did work on expansion pack

Ah, right, they mentioned it was only the endgame for the expansion.

It's gonna get Denuvo'd on PC, isn't it?

In before Denuvo.

Will it contain Getter Team, however?

V has Getter Robot Armageddon
youtube.com/watch?v=be7fy0H6AlI

V has Getter Robo Armageddon. X doesn't, but T has with the Daikessen Shin Getter Dragon.

no one bothers to region lock their shit on Steam anymore do they? considering that they announced this in Japanese (including in Famitsu), it should be available across asia at least

I love Getter Robo.

It's great

In SA's SRW thread, she mentioned only working on X and Bamco having plans on doing future translation work inhouse. This was in november last year. Since she's apparently back in T, something must've changed and I've been posting old irrelevant info, for which I apologize.

which SRW game had TTGL again?

Z2, Z3 and X. Maybe some other also have it.

Damn I'm going to have to buy V for my boy Yamato

Yamato is great

just download a pirated version

Does it have any other ships from Yamato 2199?

All types of Gamillian enemy fleet, and you get sometimes Yamato's fighter jet for story reasons and then later you can get Melda in Czvarke.
I don't remember if Earth's ships show up aside of Yamato, maybe only as map srpite.

Attached: file.png (1600x900, 1.51M)

The Earth didn't really have a fleet after the first episode so that makes sense

Yea, Steam's not really region locked unless the devs themselves decide not to make a specific game visible in certain regions.
I can go on Steam right now and buy games that aren't available in English if I want.

Hell, you can freely change the localization of any game on the fly via Steam. That's what I did with KF2 for a bit just to hear the Jap VAs.

Thanks for beta testing sonyiggers

Overall Yamato really managed to be really nicely fit in SRW if you ask me, SRW V was a joy to play.
In a middle it lost focus a bit cause of some shenanigans, but that's about as much of criticism I can give to it. And maybe end boss a bit weak.

being able to change the language is a plus but it has nothing to do with what I said, you said it's just because of devs not making it available, which is what I'm saying
apparently Jump Force isn't available for Japanese on Steam, so we know of Bandai Namco locking shit, even if it's unlikely to happen here given they announced this in Japanese and there's a Famitsu article about it
I hate to bring this up but I guess I'm glad that it's not EGS, given Bandai Namco's other announcements recently only say PC digital

should I just buy V? Seems like it has more series?

>fit nicely
>had to resort to multiverse shenanigans just to get it in

Right, but the dev deciding not to list a game in a specific region is not the same as Steam, the platform, being region-locked.

I said that no one regions locks on steam anymore, I wasn't implying it was steam doing it
but they do hate people trying to get cheaper games so they neutered gifting

Not really. by shenanigans I meant when story loses focus in a middle with all that interdimensional travel.
Yamato crew forgets a bit that shit, we need to go to Iscandar.
Overall in it's own universe Yamato fits nicely, Gamillians attacked and while it technically was Universal Century out there with Gundams and stuff, that universe's mobile suits were underpowered compared to Gamillians. So everything was mostly wiped out. Also battleships and giant robots didn't work together too back then.
But then you get Yamato which starts working with squad of mobile suits against Gamillians and that tactics starts working cause mobile suit technology catched up finally.
Therefore the further you go Gamillians panic and try to encorporate same tactics with mobile suits.

Fair enough, but yea, Steam got pretty salty about the whole cross-region gifting thing.

/gundam/ you mean

ah I remember buying games with Russian account

>extra characters and mecha are still 1 day exclusives
OH COME ON

They are not exclusive, just you get them further down the story if you don't buy day 1
