>download PS3 emulator >download Demon's Souls ISO >very easy >setting up the emulator takes seconds >start playing again my 10th playthrough played on ps3 before >playing in 4k with constant 30fps and no dips >already maximum comfy
Why is Demon's Souls so much better than Dark Souls? I think removing complex mechanics like character tendency or world tendencey hurt the game more than anything. Also Dark Souls has way too many cheese weapons unlike Demon's Souls where you could argue that soul arrow is op but if you don't use souls arrow how many op weapon are there in the beginning? What do you think anons? What do you prefer Souls or Demon's? Remaster when?
Tower of Latria or Stonefang Tunnel are better than anything Dark Souls has.
Connor Foster
>Why is Demon's Souls so much better than Dark Souls? Contrarianism/inability to move on
>I think removing complex mechanics like character tendency or world tendencey hurt the game more than anything. Thank fuck you don't make games
>Also Dark Souls has way too many cheese weapons unlike Demon's Souls Demon's Souls has like 4 weapons period
>Limited crystal lizards with low drop rate for required materials to reach max uphgrade for ONE WEAPON >Every boss can be cheesed except Allant >World Tendency changes just by logging into the servers making any hard work null >Terrible customization options >You HAVE to kill dragons with arrows lol

Truth
Jack Thomas
Obtuse is not the same thing as complex. World tendency is walkthrough bait. The best strategy to get pure white is play offline and literally kill yourself in the Nexus before doing anything. If the player played the game normally, they'd never get access to that tendency-locked content in a million years.
Chase Adams
Because it was fresh, new and exciting for its time. It was highly innovative and experimental. The level design is some of the best in the entire series. The real bosses are the levels and environmental hazards themselves. The gimmick bosses require problem solving than just iframing out of harm's way. World tendency and soul drain. The atmosphere is also beautiful. Only contrarians who weren't around when DeS released would think it's a bad game.
Dylan Perry
not true From made alot of online event back in the days for white or dark tendency
Justin Ramirez
So how does world tendency work? What is it exactly?
Jeremiah Powell
Been watching videos of DSP playing Demon Souls, very comfy
Anthony Campbell
'When you bought 3 versions of the same game because you had 3 different set of trophies, and basically had nothing else to play, and you need to lie on the internet and pretend you're playing it on the emulator and enjoying it' - the post.
Luke Peterson
dead meme wasn't around long enough (such as baneposting) to be solidified stop trying user it's not gonna happen
Blake Collins
>start playing again my 10th playthrough played on ps3 before >playing in 4k with constant 30fps and no dips is it true?
or there are glitches and bugs and swaps all the time with freezes?
i want to replay it but in true 4k is 60 fps game breaking or just too heavy for cpu? can you even doo 60 fps?
Physics always killed my framerate. Tried to ignore it for a while, but I couldn't stand it anymore at the bridge with the dragons, past the phalanx. Are there older PCSX builds that are more stable? Got an i5 6600k, GTX 1070, didn't seem much worse as some tutorials I've seen on youtube.
Daniel Perry
>i5 6600k This is your problem.
Justin Diaz
Each area has it's own tendency, it becomes brighter by killing bosses and primordial demons, while going darker each time you die in human form. At pure white, certain pathways are opened and things are changed, generally giving you access to more treasure, while at pure black, additional enemies appear such as powerful black phantom versions and the aforementioned primordial demons. It's actually a pretty straightforward mechanic, the only potential issues are that ypu have to be paying attention to it to notice the changes taking place, you have limited chances to turn an area pure white per playthrough, and while connected to the internet, the world tendency is affected by the general online population, resetting it when you go back to the Nexus, which can be a hassle considering the previous.
Leo Cruz
>or there are glitches and bugs and swaps all the time with freezes? nope no problem for me so far >is 60 fps game breaking or just too heavy for cpu? can you even doo 60 fps? don't think you can 60fps DeS is capped at 30fps.
Lincoln Cook
Okay. So is the mechanic an always online thing? Can I do a pure white or black tendency playthrough offline?
fromsoft killed the servers a few years ago anyway
Ethan Hughes
online is not a thing anymore user the server are offline.
Oliver Brooks
>i5 8400 Is my CPU good enough?
Jonathan Sanders
dunno maybe if not 4k 2k probably.
Joseph Cook
You can do it entirely offline and for most people that's actually preferred since that avoids the reset to default. Also a lot of people, to play it safe like big baby men, will suicide in the Nexus after beating a boss and reclaiming their body because there's no World Tendency there. This stuff is generally where all the complaints from the thread have came from so now you're up to date.
Kevin Gutierrez
probably, might have to oc
>Why is Demon's Souls so much better than Dark Souls? music, graphics, sound design, level design
>resetting it when you go back to the Nexus, which can be a hassle considering the previous.
this is wrong
world tendency only resets when you close the game while in the nexus
I have easily cleared all black and white world events for every world while online.
all you need to do is clear each phase in one sitting
>phase/sitting 1 - clear 1-1 >phase/sitting 2 - clear all of world 2, do pure white event >phase/sitting 3 - clear world 3, do pure white >phase/sitting 4 -clear world 4, pure white >phase/sitting 5 - clear world 5, pure white >phase/sitting 6 - finish clearing world 1 >phase/sitting 7+(optional) - do black events, beat game
obviously you can do this in less sittings if you clear mutiple worlds and also turn them black in the same sitting as after you turned them white.
it was even better to be online I think because world tendancy was usually high enough that you only needed to kill 2 bosses in each world to reach pure white. this would let you clear 1-1 and 1-2 and do the white event for 1 before you even went to another world.
Jayden Miller
pretty sure nexus actually does have tendancy, it just doesnt effect anything
the nexus node was always dark as hell compared to the other worlds, because so many people killing themselves in it made it black
Jordan Taylor
You can cheese Allant with stealth ring + poison cloud
Thomas Nelson
Ah ok I just remembered it was something to do with the Nexus. In that case it's far less of an issue. That's what I meant, dying there doesn't affect the other areas.
isn't that a good cpu what do you even need to run this
Isaiah Diaz
it's good but it's kind of old, this is a ps3 emulator so the faster the better. 8600k is like the entry level "im good" chip but some games still don't run and some games still run poorly like god of war 3 and RDR
Christopher Cox
I have yet to find a reason to go Pure Black tendency in this game. All the good weapons are available at pure white and their also aren't annoying as fuck red enemy's that just appear in some places.
Luke Rodriguez
>being able to OC an non K model look at this idiot
no you cant anymore, you have to pay the OC meme tax by intel
Hudson Morris
Careful, user! Some nigger is trying to steal your games!
Austin Robinson
>playing in 4k with constant 30fps and no dips Lucky you. I got 18-26 fps with terrible sound issues and graphical bugs.
Blake Miller
>spending money on a cpu you can't overclock
Grayson Clark
Enemies drop more souls and their rare items appear at a higher frequency. Some items, such as Pure Bladestone, won't show up unless you're on PBWT. As for Pure Black Character Tendency, it gave you an attack bonus as an invader.
Jordan Gray
this tbqh senpai
Easton Hall
Plebes think ghz are important
Easton Anderson
I got bored while playing Dark Souls. Never understood why Yea Forums sucked this game so hard. It's not even a debate : BB > Demon Souls = Sekiro > shit >DaS>DaS3
Charles Perry
*sound stuttering intesifies*
Cooper Bailey
What do you recommend? I'm do need to upgrade anyway
David Taylor
just find a game to benchmark and do your own research
Ian Clark
I did 1 playthrough shit game it's all nostalgia and/or contrarianism I'd rather play DS2 tbqh
>Remaster when? hopefully never
Kevin Moore
lmao literally kill yourself summerfag
Jason Hall
I prefer DeS due to the level design but both DeS and DaS1 are high art imho
Liam Hall
I have an RTX 2080Ti and a i7-8700 with 16gb 2333mhz RAM. Am i ready for DeS kino?
Liam Campbell
I always hated the blurry PS3 picture maybe I'll give the game a try now
Adam Cook
>remaster when? never.
Sony owns the ip and they don’t give a singular crap about it, bloodsoul is their new baby now.
Luke Wright
yes enjoy user.
Carter Morris
your gpu barely matters. runs fine on my 8700 have fun dad
David Anderson
>play a year ago on a Ryzen 1600 >no hiccups at all >play on a Ryzen 3600 now >hard crash whenever I die, reload a save, or after 10 minutes or so >can't submit a bug report because they're so anal about everything Thanks kikes
If you're lazy and playing on RPCS3, you can use cheat engine to set the world tendency to whatever you want
Daniel Butler
Being able to 'cheese' the bosses is part of the game's exploration and puzzle solving. A lot of you guys are going into the game 1) with a guide, and 2) after playing through other Souls games with a guide. You haven't actually played or experienced Demon's Souls. You're the equivalent of a tourist who goes on a guided tour of the Pyramids. Those of us who picked up the game on PS3 and didn't know what we were getting into are the explorers who first opened the tomb.
Jaxson Watson
Literally no difference between left and right
Josiah Powell
>trying to play botw on cemu >has issues on amd hardware >have to deal with shader nonsense >have to have a million "graphics packs" to get the game performing
cemu is a big piece of shit, especially after using something as nice as dolphin, which just fucking works. When your emulator makes PCSX2 look convenient you have a problem.
Josiah Stewart
Nice diatribe faggot, shame you can't conveniently lump everyone who disagrees with you together since I've had it since release and still managed to fight most cheese strats on my own. I never used a guide for any of those games actually.
James Murphy
Is PS3 emulator a real thing though?
Sebastian Long
>Demon's Souls Original Kino >Dark Souls 1 Let's do it again XD prepare the assembly line! >Dark Souls 2 Let's do it again XD prepare the assembly line! >Dark Souls 3 Let's do it again XD prepare the assembly line! >Bloodborne Original Kino >Sekiro Original Kino
>If it has the same name it's the same game World record for biggest brainlet shattered
Henry Butler
No, but if it has the same visual theme, mood, mechanics etc.
Adrian Hill
if only the upgrade/materials system wasn't fucked
Cameron Ward
They literally all have the same visual theme, mood and mechanics; the only difference is that DS has the same items and a few characters because they share a narrative world. They're made by the same studio so they always have the same aesthetic. I don't expect you to know what that word means but in short, knights and samurais are not an aesthetic theme in themselves; merely content to be conveyed within FROM's overarching aesthetic.
Luke King
Doesn't seem like any of that is true. If you are telling the truth, you should work on being more convincing.
Jaxson Scott
>still having windows crashes with these settings Ok
>Why is Demon's Souls so much better than Dark Souls? Because it's designed and balanced as an RPG and not a difficulty meme game. Each place and enemy has its weaknesses and strengths, what will be easy for a tanky shielded warrior will be difficult for a mage and vice-versa. In DeS whatever spec you pick each level will feel differently.
Oliver Sanchez
>complex mechanics like character tendency or world tendencey
Colton Jones
I did. It was my first souls game, so I had really hard time with it. I just thought maybd I should gather some distance and fire arrows at the bosses until they die or something. Lo and behold, this brainlet strategy works on 80% of bosses and pretty much all enemies. All you're doing is excusing bad design because "it's demons souls", if dark souls was more easy to cheese, you'd be making the statement that dark souls is bad because it's easier to cheese.
