Why are N64 games like M64, OoT, and MK64 so stylistically ugly?

I-it's soul.

Mario 64 is WAY prettier than Mario Kart, while OoT is way prettier than both. Play the Water Temple again.

Games from the ps1 and especially saturn had orders of magnitude more soul

MK64 is literally just Super Mario Kart with 3D environments and OoT looks alright desu. SM64 also looks fine even if a lot of the models look weird.

Go back to bed CWC

all that pop-in everywhere on screen

yikes

"soul" is a retarded word used by late millennials who have never played anything older than 5th gen games. Just a buzzword for low poly garbage.

Stay mad

MK64 is probably one of the ugliest games ever made.

lolno.

If we're talking about the soul buzzword, then MKDS is it, not 64. 64 just looks bad.

They're not.

Yea sure they look like shit by todays standards, but they are still fun games and were graphically amazing back in the day

is that why you posted a 3DS game?

Hey man, you're cheating, that's a 3DS game.

oops, I just googled kokiri forest

Because they were just figuring out actual 3D graphics

Because they're 20 fucking years old, this thread is pointless.

Toad's Turnpike is pure aesthetic bliss.
You're just a zoomer with bad taste OP.

snes games are older and are more aesthetically pleasing

Soul is a meme pushed by gen z. Stop being stupid.

whats wrong with MKDS?

Nothing, my post was positive. MKDS looks decent even with low poly, MK64 does not.

sorry, brain broke

Late millennials are honorable zoomers. Basically you lot born in the mid to late '90s.
