Yes its perfectly fine

It's just Yea Forums autism. I just played through them and had no issues and a fantastic time.

They are not that important. The gist of the games is as good as ever

You tell me

I just finished the PS3 HD collection last week.
The games are perfectly fine, but every once in a while you look at something, think "hmm... these graphics didn't age too well", only to later realize through a Youtube video or something that half of the intended special effects are not even rendering in the HD ports. DMC3's final battle is one such case.

Still, for the most part, the gameplay is still solid, and the great texturework shines.

3 had frame rate issues for me, apparently there is a fix but it never worked for me for some reason.

the PS2 graphics chip ran on magic and was capable of some pretty advanced post processing
it's why most ports (even at the time) lacked several effects like that
most notably San Adnreas

there's hardly any problems, some particle effect issues in 1 is the biggest thing.

ps3/360 version was worse, kalinna ann works in the new versions

Tolerable yes, but if you plan on playing DMC1 then the PS3 HD collection is better because it does not have all the visual issues that the PS4 one has

Who cares? Those games are outdated as fuck anyway, just play DMC4 and 5 instead, there’s literally no reason to go back to the old ones. If you care about the story just watch them on YouTube.

>10 replies before you showing that people care
>"Who cares?"

That's wrong though, the ps3 and ps4 versions are identical right down to the minor bugs like the sound pitch of picking up red orbs

I’m not interested in the opinions of boomers.

As tolerable as devil may cry 2 can be

>Idiots keep recommending the last gen HD collection over the new one because they saw some comparison video on YouTube.

I really wish all you idiots would shut the fuck up already.

The last-gen version of DMCHD is even worse. It has just as many (small) missing effects as the new DMCHD because the PS2 had a weird way of handling post-processing. The audio mix in DMC1 is fucking terrible (though that was the case from the start) and the grappel attack on the Kalina Ann in DMC3 is straight up BROKEN, it does NOT WORK. This was fixed in the new version.

The new HD Collection is the best overall. Do NOT play the old HD collection. Do NOT play the PS2 PAL versions of DMC because they run at 50FPS. Play either the new HD Collection, or IF you absolutely must have accuracy than grab original PS2 American/Japanese copies.

I can't speak for PS2 emulation, but I have heard somebody talking about slight input lag issues when playing DMC. Though milage might vary.

Screencap this shit or something for everytime one of these threads pop up.

What does the pc one fall under?

The PC DMCHD version is the brand new one from 2018 and one of the best ways to play the games.

The PC version of DMC3SE is putrid dogshit made by Ubisoft and widely considered one of the worst ports ever made. It had a dedicated modder trying to fix the game but since it's obsolete now he won't bother anymore.

PS4 version, with some mods to bring it closer to ps2

>Are they tolerable?
If you didn't play the originals you probably won't care about the issues, and the resolution increase might outweigh the other issues for most people.

But the HD collections broke the skybox effect in level 19 of DMC1 and I always really liked that part. The name of the music in the OST is even related to what the skybox was doing. So it really bothers me and made me just go back to playing the original.
