How common is it to have a "communal dumpster" in your neighborhood? Every house here has the three green trash bins, one for recycling, one for non-recyclable waste, and the last for lawn trimmings.

I hate the idea of having to share a single communal dumpster with several other neighbors. I just know it would end up breeding conflict no matter how reasonable you think your neighbors are. They'll selfishly load it up to the brim, they'll throw stinky stuff into it without securely tying it up, and I'm sure other problems will arise.

If I were ever in that situation, I would find a way to get my own waste bins. Sharing isn't worth it no matter how practical it might seem for the Garbage Trucks to come and just empty that one dumpster for my whole neighborhood.
