>Stop playing CS:GO to play some TF2 for the summer event >For two weeks, I get no items worth any money >I craft a hat >I can't sell it >I go back to CS:GO
The thing I like about CS:GO is that it keeps me engaged with items and skins worth a few cents to a dollar that I can pawn off on the market. Like I made more from CS:GO case drops than any item in TF2 when I played it back in the day - TF2 is even worse than CS:GO because it wants me to pay for competitive matchmaking AND for this jungle contracts pass thing
>Summer 2012 >GibHatsPlease Server Scanner was barely known about >change username to something like "heavyguy2001" >use to just frequent 24/HR Servers and Insta-Respawn Servers >find accounts only 20-30hrs old with an Unusual Hat >"hey i trade for purple hat???" >throw up a bunch of paint/weapons/cosmeticsw >he happily throws his Unusual in >Trade Accepted! >bail from that server at the speed of light >sell on forums for $300
god I miss Sharking. I made over $600 in one Summer as a 15 year old kid.
>and metal is now worth half as much ftfy you cant make it stop being worthless
Lincoln Gonzalez
>wreck kid using Tomislav (when it was new and OP) >keep killing this same kid over and over again >20 minutes later he Trade Requests me >''wat gun is that??? can i have it???" >"Not for free, what do you have?" >he throws in Earbuds and a paint can >FUCKINGDEAL.jpg
this was at the time when Earbuds were like, $30-40?
>Sold all my Unusuals back in 2015 >made like $900
is it bad that I kind of miss them still? I had a Burning Flames Blighted Beak and a Cloud-9 Doctors Mask. I miss joining a Server and having everyone gawk at me like a god. It was fun.

when i was getting real with trading keys were for like 6 ref. then 12 ref. then 24 ref. it was constantly raising. refs just need to have a valuable built in money sink to spend refs on to limit supply. Actually when i think about that, maybe craft-only weapons would work? those recipes sometimes eat a shitton of refs and making those weapons will both limit the ref supply and make weapons that are worth more than a literal pile of scrap
How about being able to make random items and hats that can be sold with ref? Literally my complaint in the OP would be solved.
Ethan Bennett
>"Russian Username 123" wants to trade with you! >"hi :) u sell unusual? :)" >"Uhh, no." >"can i make offer? :)" >he just lowballs hard as fuck with a bunch of "sweets" >"this okay? :)" >"Hmmm. Let me think." >minimize Trade Box, keep playing >like 10 minutes later in chat he types "hey bro :) we still in a trade bro :)"
its literally already there. you can either create random weapons using class and slot tokens, or make random hats using 2 or 3 ref (dont wanna try to bother looking it up. The problem is weapons are well, weapons and the random hats are just in their exclusive pool that makes them worth 1-3 ref most of the time.
Hudson Hughes
And remember when it took ages to get 3-4 refined?
I mean keys are expensive now, but a ton of decent hats are only 1-2 ref. So win win

>see this post >go check my inventory >I've got 15 dollars worth sticker 2 cases fair enough
>join game >get streamrolled >join new game >get streamrolled >join a new game >get streamrolled >join a new game >streamroll the other team They'll never fix match making, will they.

I traded down everything I had, made about $800 in profits (note: I never spent any money on the game), and if I ever play anymore I use a very stylish and simple allclass combo with the pre-F2P military hat, making all my classes look like military veterans. So I no longer look like a pimped shitter, instead really stylish, and I made a profit. Haven't played since inferno.
Adam Bailey
This happens in all modes for me, except for medieval mode.
Blake Murphy
the Mann Co baseball cap looks pretty good for an all class generic look
Juan Evans
i sometimes got some pretty long close calls, where both of the teams nearly got the payload or everyone choked at the last capture point.
Brayden Cruz
why the fuck wont mods ban this autistic mentally ill faggot he spams the same fucking threads every day for like 6 hours.

I've been playing g TF2 for 10 years and I've never had an unusual that isn't the HHH I still have nightmares about all the fuxki g equalizers I got from series 1 crates back when they were introduced
William Hernandez
Is TF2 playable with a gamepad? I can't do mouse and keyboard very well in anything fast paced. I only have a pinkie and ring finger on my left hand, and I can just barely use the whole left side of smaller gamepads like dualshocks and the imitators. It looks like a less cancerous overwatch, which is really appealing after this last update. I hate feeling like I'm dragging a team down though.

nah im gud

II do. You seem to realize how many cheaters and bunny hopping rocket jumping faggots there are in casual matches.
Andrew Reed
Always cracks me up when ever his happens. They'll add everyone on the server that seem to have cosmetics/skins to try and scam. It's 2020 do people still fall for it?
Gabriel Lee
I'm sorry I hope you won't be mad with me. I accidentally reported your account for duped items.

I have fun winning at CSGO competitive

I put my profile on private long before volvo made steam profiles private by defult thanks to shit like this.
>2013 >Playing tf2 on some random surf server >''Russianfaggot2321 has connected'' >''underageb圲 has connected'' >Russianfaggot2321: rus? >Russianfaggot2321: rus trad? >underageb圲: ANYONE WANT TO GIVE ME A FREE HAT? >underageb圲: LOOKING FOR OFFERS! >underageb圲: I CAN TRADE A GIBBUS OR CRATES FOR ANY HAT >Ignore them an continue playing >''underageb圲 has invited you to a trade'' >underageb圲: LOOKING FOR OFFERS >Proceeds to dump his entire inventory (which is mostly crates and old weapon unlocks) into the trade window >Tell him to fuck off and close the window >Starts messaging me about how much of a ''noob'' I am for not trading with him or give him free shit. >''Block'' >Quit for the day >''Russianfaggot2321 has added you to their friend list'' >Russianfaggot2321: RUS? >No? What do you want? >''Russianfaggot2321 has invited you to a trade'' >Dumps his entire inventory into the trade window >Russianfaggot2321: OFER? >I just close the window and ignore him. He stays awfully quiet afterwards. >Next day I get a message from the same guy, but now he is named ''VAVLE ADMIN'' >Yes ''VAVLE'' not ''Valve'' >Tries to scam me with some dumb copypasta >When that does not work, tries to threaten to ban or hack me in broken english >Block him and move on
The worst part is that shit like this didn't stop until a while after I had set my profile to private, almost like I was tagged in some sort of scammers algorithm that kept track about the fact that I had some rare vintage weapon or hat in my inventory. I still get a few friend requests even today just too accept them and immediately be asked to trade or tell them what I have in my inventory. Sure I got some free money out of the trading system but god damn it, it's one of the shittiest things volvo has ever made.

>tfw built my first shitty PC from this when I didn't have a job in HS. 2500k + 560ti >Infinite amount of +rep from selling dirty goods >couple of years later once I completely cashed out this apparently became a known problem and was then called sharking Fun as fuck but glad I jumped ship while it was still relatively unknown
>play TF2 for gameplay and fun >peak Hat craze hits full swing >open a box and get a red flaming sauce pan >everyone goes fucking nuts >people send me trade requests and put their entire inventory for it >fuck off I want to play the game >get hundreds of friend requests on steam >all want to buy my hat for money >hear they're all russian scammers anyways >get contacted by a legit TF2 pro who mains Soldier >offers me $500 for my hat >it's legit >sell off a bunch of my other junk for money and quit TF2 forever >made over $600 for a game that I paid $5 for

Always wished they added some weapon like this one for the Heavy. It would have more precision, it'd give the user around a 50% speed boost but the firing speed would be lower and it'd have around 140 bullets instead of 200
